  1. I know! She has so many great sounding Vanillas, it's so hard to choose just a couple. The White Cake throws really well in my paraffin, hot and cold. I haven't tried it in soy. The UV is also a keeper in my paraffin.
  2. Cinnamon Buns ~ Peak Creamy Praline Pecan ~ Peak Frosted Carrot Cake ~ Peak Vanilla ... just ANY vanilla
  3. Wow, all this talk about the other vanillas!! I might just have to place an order myself, LOL! I've only tried the Ultimate Vanilla and it's a keeper! And of course White Cake, OMG!
  4. I don't know about your questions because I did not make the candle. I purchased the candle from here: http://www.oldvirginiacandle.com/ I resisted the urge to pull the bottom label off the container....I figured I'd wait and burn the candle and then investigate.
  5. I purchased one of these and have been burning it for awhile now. I really do like them! No complaints from me except that the wick isn't centered. The hangup on the side of the jar is finally catching up on about the 5th burn. DH just commented I'm going to have to move the candle OUT of the living room! He says it reminds him of food cooking! He said it sounds like I'm cooking eggs or fried potatoes! LMAO! Anyway, I thought I'd share my experience with ya'll.
  6. Yep, I was going to say sunflower & lemon pound cake. You could also make a yellow rose, banana, or honeysuckle fragrance in yellow. Sunwashed linen, fruit slices, or vanilla.
  7. Wow, thanks for the great tutorial! That is AWESOME!! Is that an apothecary jar used for the test?
  8. WOW, those are gorgeous! I bet they're really pretty lit up also. Great job!!!
  9. Great job!! I LOVE those!! You'll definitely have to post more pics in the future too. Those rank up there with the other rustic pros here on CT!!!!
  10. The bad thing is, there's not a house anywhere near my mailbox and I can't see it from my house. If something goes missing I guess I'm screwed. Usually when they deliver I'm at work and the box sits out there all day long. A few weeks ago, I thought sure that someone stole my MP soap that I'd ordered. I ended up calling headquarters that one time and they traced it back to FedEx. I think I have a lazy FedEx driver, to say the least!!!! I finally found my soap, in the ditch behind my mailbox about a week later. Unless I HAVE to sign for something that's how they deliver all of my packages!!
  11. FedEx throws all of my packages out at my mailbox-when I check online if somethings been delivered, they say it was left at the front door....um, last time I checked that is NOT my front door. I live in the country and my mailbox is on the main road about 1/2 mile away from my house. ARRGgggghh!!
  12. I also had that happen with my Pink Sugar. It takes a very long time (a few days for me) for the crystals to melt. I just kept reheating the water and would place the FO bottle in the bowl.
  13. Someone asked me this same question, lol. They'd bought some handmade soap somewhere before and said it had no lather, at all. I just assumed it was Castille soap and explained to them the benefits of different soaps without going into confusing detail. I then simply said yes, my soap lathers very well.
  14. I'm using tallow and I find it to be really good!! BUT, so is lard! I used lard for a long time and really like it in a bar of soap. There's LOTS of Seventh Day Adventists (some of my family) that won't use lard for anything, so this is part of the reason I made the switch... Yes, you can freeze your tallow & lard if you render it yourself. It keeps well this way. HTH!
  15. I like the CD's & HTP's, I haven't tried the others.
  16. I used 9% in my tester. I'll let it cure a few more days and try it again. Thanks Macnmyer
  17. Has anyone poured this into wax? I'm getting a very strong kerosene smell in mine, I'm using 415. It's great so far in air fresheners and I'm going to try it in CP tomorrow.
  18. The Rubbermaid idea is a GREAT one! I think I'll try that one-thank you. I tried plastic bags and that just causes holey bags-the pillowcase idea is a good one too. I currently take a hammer to the slabs, but pieces are known to go flying everywhere! When I need a small small amount, I take a big chunk to my work area and score the sections I need with a knife and it breaks easily. The slabs/bags of softer wax is a whole other topic! :embarasse
  19. I could've swore I read about the P.O. being closed for the Pres. Fords 'day of mourning' this morning but now, even with searching, I can't find the thread! Could someone be kind enough to direct me there? TIA!
  20. I'm going to be a soapin' fool this weekend, that's my PLAN! I have to make more Green Clover & Aloe, Cool Citrus Basil and Pink Sugar. Plus I'm shrink wrapping a few soaps and making a few ornies for an order. I tested RA's Avalanche in aroma beads and they absorbed the FO within ONE day (a few hours even)! So I'm going to try to get those into shapes and tested. Have fun everyone and stay safe!
  21. I recently parted with my pine scented candles, gave them away as gifts. All the torture I endured while testing and testing those bad boys!!! ...
  22. The Barbershop 1920's is really good in M&P soap, haven't had a chance to test in CP soap or candles yet. I'm going to try Avalanche in the aroma beads, I think that will be a HIT!
  23. Thanks for the reminder!! And to you Vicky, for all you do! That is such an excellent resource!
