  1. I have yet to try a meatballer or anything else for my bombs, much like Call, I use a candy mold to form mine, I like that they are unique over the typical bomb you can buy in a store, but will have to pick up an ornament eventually to try the bomb cakes I saw over on SoapDish http://www.soapdishforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82728&st=25 just scroll down a bit to see 'em.
  2. I found em over on the Soap Dish forum, look interesting and not quite sure how different they are than the cupcakes, since I haven't dug up a recipe for them yet. Originally they are a Lush product http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/02155?expand=Bath and one of the girls wanted something similar, so they whipped something up for it, and molded them in dixie cups to get em shaped more like marshmallows. http://www.soapdisharchives.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=39373&hl=marsh*&st=25 post #47 is the final recipe she came up with. I'm hoping they really do the melty thing like a marshmallow in hot cocoa, n if not, at least I'll have nice soft skin and a few baths to plan for. Wild, Send the rain my way, save me from having to water the lawn... you can do what my crazy old neighbor used to do, stand on your porch and hollar at the clouds til they go away...
  3. I'm planning on trying bath marshmallows and bath cupcakes, and working on my bomb swap goodies. Also plan on pouring more of my wickless candles, need to work on making some of my scents as cute as they were in the containers. Should be interesting.
  4. Totally LOVE those soapcicles!! You M&Pers are really clever. I may have to mess with the little sack of M&P I picked up a while back. Only thing I have done is little molded rosettes. Was a project with Babachka (my nickname for my DD, it's butterfly in Russian) when she asked if she could make soap with me.
  5. NP, sometimes its amazing what you don't see till someone says something. I do it all the time.
  6. soapcalc's calc has a couple columns, along with oz it has gms too. that would save you from having to convert anything.. just read the column you want to use.
  7. Guess thats me with the Samsung, model CLP300. It has a nice little footprint to it, and fits perfect on the little elevation on my desk. Beats the heck out of the size of my Dell all-in-one.
  8. They're all totally beautiful. Though the last ones look like Thistles to me.
  9. tonight after enjoying a romantic anniversary dinner with my puter, I'm currently working on a less greasy feeling lotion bar and probably going to whip up a few more tubes of lip balm (which I'm getting rave reviews on). I tweaked a previously tried (by me) lotion bar recipe and am playing with it a bit. Have a feeling I'm going to need more balm tubes soon, which I had the cash this last week to get in on Element's .10 tubes, but ces't la vie i guess. always seems to be the way it is.
  10. I love my Samsung, I bought it, a full set of replacement toner for each color and black, and a couple packages of labels and spent less than 500$ that day. I've had it since late January and print practically EVERYTHING on it, and still haven't had to replace any of my toners. Just have to remember to switch my paper type if I'm going to print on card stock.
  11. Peppermint oil works well too. Personally I can't use tea tree on anything but my feet unless I actually want itchy red and gross all over. I have to wear gloves when I give myself a pedi using my tea tree bombs. I use an alcohol free mouth rinse from Crest that has peppermint oil in it as a rinse when my psorisis acts up, just pour on and rinse under cooler water, I may actually get around to adding peppermint to my shampoo one of these days when I finally pick some up.
  12. I wouldn't think it would be a good idea if you use a laser printer, dunno if you've ever felt one after its been running for a couple pages, but those suckers get HOT! I don't think an ink jet type would be much better, with the slick surface shrink film has, it would probably rub right off, and just the slightest bit of wet would smear any successful printing on it. JMO.
  13. I think a line of facial products would be awesome with the fruit. A scrub, a light wash, a cream, maybe even a couple masques and in with a toner... I bet the milk bath would be awesome too.
  14. Duh, silly me. So far both scrubs and the soap is done in Orchid Rain from NG. Its one of my favorites, though quickly running low, almost time for another order with a few new yummy scents.
  15. Thanks Scented, I'll give that a try in my veggie batch tomorrow. It's a few shades darker than in the picture, but like I said, I like it for this scent, but know I'm going to have scents I want to be bold n bright. Thanks Vio, I thought so too, the 'top' has just a slight patterning to it and its soft and pretty. As for the grits, it was kinda a hard lesson learned, I hadn't thought about just how yellow regular cornmeal is, and had made a batch with some, works wonderfully, but kinda hard to make a pink colored anything when ya start with yellow:o. So I claimed that batch for me and went surfing for white cornmeal and somehow ended up at BulkFoods, and saw farina, when I had the proverbial lightening strike on the brain. GRITS!! Its white hominy ground.. just as good as regular corn ( i actually use grits in my fry batters instead of yellow meal) and if you can eat it, why can't ya scrub with it?!
  16. Oh man, do I still need to figure out just how much pop I need to add to a batch, though this one turned out with more than just a hint of color. I think I like it and may stick with it for this scent, but I'm sure I'll have others I will want to be much bolder. Live and learn I guess, also in the pic is my next batch of scrub, A-Maize-ing Facial Scrub. I subbed out the sugar from E's scrub and used grits (they're white instead of the yellow of regular corn meal) I zapped in my bullet to make a much finer grit and added some SLSa for a little foaming action, which I like in my face wash/scrub if i ever buy a commercial one. Now to wait for these to cure, though I am LOVING using my first batch.. guess It'll have to hold me till then.
  17. Since I finally got my olive oil, that Bastile batch I've been planning and maybe a couple veggie batches to match the lard bathes I did over the last couple days.. I HAVE to figure out how to get my pops bright enough, though I did get a beautiful ITP marble on my first try, second is sitting and waiting for cut. Maybe I'll work on a couple lotion bars too...
  18. Thanks gals, was going to use my scrub the other night, but hard to when its on the opposite end of the house, I forgot my sample of it sitting on my work table on the opposite end of the house. I gave a couple of the lip balms to the girls my hubby works with and am getting rave reviews. One of the girls said she really likes that its scented but not sweet, or she'd be defeating the purpose of putting it on in the first place. Everyone hubbs works with gets really chapped lips from being out in the dry TX wind all night, and one of the girls said this has helped heal em up oodles in just a couple days:thumbsup: Guess I'm right on with my oil choices, now to see how they hold up in the heat of their pockets. I may have to share a couple samples of my buff with em next week. Hope he warned them they're gonna be my guinea pigs...
  19. So my MMS order came in Monday, and I've been sitting with my pops since last week, so it was time to play!! I whipped up some tweaked BCN dupe lip balm base and tweaked E's Sugar scrub recipe to something I like... I grabbed up a little of my base and used LorAnn's Spearmint and Watermelon flavor oils in it (separately, not together) to make Strawberry and Green Apple pop colored balms. WOW this stuff is nice going on and stay nice and on for quite a while. And oohhh... do I like the scrub, I gave some a try on my hands on my cuticles and it cleaned me up nicely. I used some more of the strawberry pop to color it, added some green tea leaves for a little excitement, and some Organic Florida Sugar. Can't wait till my shower later to give it a try on my ole skin.
  20. NOTHING!! And I'm excited about it... I get to take over the whole back room for myself, I'm getting 'evicted' from my little closet in the hall, so everything has to move and I have to sort out how I'm going to organize everything I have. I may have to hit ebay and get rid of some stuff (tons of yarns and paper and other crafty stuff) I'm also going to need to figure a shopping list for cupboards or something. A formal dining space is a pretty good sized room, so lots of shopping to do to keep stuff in!
  21. oohh.. I love a good crochet pattern. Though finding gumtion to do one is hard in a Texas summer. One of my favorite pattern sites is www.freepatterns.com theres some really neat stuff on there. I have a pretty brown lacy ombre blankie waiting to be finished, I just get so frustrated when the instructions for some of these stitches are clear as mud or in practice make no sense. Though I did whip up a ripples blankie in mint and white for my first niece, I just couldn't not spoil her. Filet work is pretty easy, I have a few old doilies I've done in it floating around on our side tables, though working with that tiny #10 kills my hands and wrists after a while. Don't feel bad about having tons of hobbies Donna, I crochet, attempt to knit (I'm left handed and it never comes out right, but I keep trying), cross stitch, make jewelry, quilt, sew, do paper filigree, along with my candles, my start at soaping and now I'm waiting for my order to start B&B stuff... first up are scrubs and lip balm from scratch... My hubby calls me infinitely creative, but I call myself left handed (thus right brained) and a Gemini.
  22. Personally, Jasmine makes me think of a purpley color. Not sure why, but its always been that way. Something not quite lavender but still kinda purple. I know, that description is as clear as mud...
  23. oohh... pretty reminds me of the Canadian tourists hiding under their umbrellas on the beach back home. and the chickies towels laid out waiting for them to come back with their icies from the little Italian Gelato shop we were lucky to have. I'm great at crafting everything but names, so I'll join Lurking and ogle some more too...
  24. I second the Sage and WSP. Both are quick shippers and give a great bang for the buck. I'm dead smack in the middle of TX and always get my orders in 3-4 days from either of em. ---- Libby
