  1. Thanks for that website. I got the message that you can only do 5 searches per month.
  2. Congratulation!!! Isnt it a great feeling when you finally get one wicked right. Now that you have one it should be a little easier to get the rest (until you get one FO that just wont work no matter what). Good luck on the rest.
  3. I was thinking about getting that one, but was wondering if it was any good? And also by any chance does it cut and seal? Or is it the kind that just seals? Thanks so much.
  4. Ok the new is GREAT!!!! I definitely feel a difference. My hands feel so soft and silky. This is great thanks so much for your help. I did kind of messed up with this new one, I was impatient and pour it before it was ready so the coffee is at the top and the oatmeal is at the bottom. We were having crawfish for dinner and I wanted to go ahead and start eating so I just poured it, but I did think it was close enough but I was wrong. But it does feel great and no green spots anymore!!! Thanks so much!!!
  5. Well I did it already, I added 1 tsp evoo and about 3oz of the shea butter base I have, sorry I didnt have just shea butter (but I figured it wouldnt hurt, and hopefully it doesnt). It is ready to be taken out so I will go do that now and let you know how it is. Thanks so much for your help
  6. Thanks so much, I will definitely try different coffee grounds. And I will try adding some oils and/or butters next time but I am going to hold off until we move (we are closing on our new home March 10, and moving everything on the 11th. I cant wait I am so excited). It was a lot of fun, I even think I like it a lot more than candle making. It was really fun trying to come up with some kind of recipe (all the recipes I have seen online I didnt have the right oils, but I did find one I really want to try so I will be heading to Trader Joes to see if they have the oils that I need. Well thanks guys for the feedback, I was really worried about the green spots but the soap has been great and I think I have been averaging washing my hands every 45 minutes. I am just getting a kick out of using MY OWN SOAP. It's great.
  7. Thanks so much. The coffee did turn it (the whole batch) a light tan color but right around the coffee grounds it is green. Maybe I will try a different kind of coffee and see what it does then. Again thanks so much.
  8. Ok can someone, that has used coffee grounds in mp, please let me know if it is normal for the coffee grounds to turn the soap around them green? Pretty please!!!! Thanks
  9. I think she is asking is it ok to not wear them if you are making M&P soap. She said soap base so I would assume she is not mixing lye.
  10. OK nevermind, I cant post any pictures. I just took some and then went to get the cord to transfer them and I already packed them up . So sorry guys but I cant post any pictures.
  11. Ok well last night I did my first mp soap . This is what I did and please tell me if I did anything wrong. I melted 1 lb of oatmeal mp base in micro until it was almost melted completely and the stirred until the rest was. Waited a bit and add 1/2 tsp lanolin. Then later when it cooled some more I added about 1 tsp of glycerin. Once it started to setup and I could see when I would stir it would looked like the oatmeal already in the base would suspend I added about 1 tsp of ground oatmeal and 1 1/2 tsp of ground coffee (I used Streusel Cake coffee beans that we got for Christmas, it smells so good). Stirred to my liking and poured into my lined (velvetta cheese box) mold and then added more ground oatmeal to the top and I let it set up. I did this late last night so I stayed up until 1pm just so I could try it, and also again this morning. It was great, suds great, lather great. I have dry skin, especially on my hands and after I used this they are only dry on my knuckles (but my knuckles get really bad and crack and bleed) but a lot better than they have been in a while. The scent is a very faint coffee soap smell (but I also didnt add any FO to it) that smells really great on the skin. Not incredibly noticeable but it is there. When I was rising it off it felt really silky (like when we had a water softener in Florida). The only problems with this try is I want it to moisturize more and also it looks like the coffee grounds look kinda green in the soap? Is this normal? Also I was wanting it to be a little more of an exfoliate and it really wasnt. I was a little cautious about adding the coffee because someone mentioned they are really scratchy, so maybe next time I will add more. I will posted pictures later, cant right now camera is in DD room and she is still sleeping. So please let me know what you think and as soon as DD wakes up I will add pictures. I had so much fun and cant wait to make more.
  12. Very pretty!!! All of your soaps look great!!!!! Cant wait to see the cut pictures.
  13. Those are beautiful, sounds like they smell great!!!
  14. Thanks so much. I wish I could get them for free somewhere around here. But I showed it to my DH and he said I should be able to find it in the fishing section at Walmart, so that is where I will be headed. I hope I can find something, I am about to pull my hair out with these candles. I love this mix but these tops are killing me and I am having to heat gun the tops at least three times. Such a PITA, well I hope this works for me. By the way I get my jars from Fairway glass also and now I am totally jealousy that I didnt know they had these too. I really like the look of those jars, a lot. I think I am going to order some to test out, like I need something else to test. O well I guess it never ends.
  15. I have been online searching for an impulse sealer today but I am coming up short. Everything that I find is way out of my price range. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know. Up until now I have been using an old straightening iron that I use to use for my hair, it works ok (not the best) most of the time. Sorry I dont know if that will work but I thought I would give you another option of something that could be used.
  16. Ok I have tried the cardboard box, oven and leaving them out in the open and none of those are good for me (I got pretty much the same results as you did). I was wondering when guys guys talk about these styrofoam boxes are you guys meaning the coolers that you can get from Walmart? If not can you please post a picture of what it is and would you please let me know where you get it from. Thanks so much for any help you can give me. I feel like I did when I was trying to single wick my 100% soy apothecary jars.
  17. Looks great!!! I hope they do well for you.
  18. OMG that story had me in tears the whole time. I really hope that little boy is ok now, does anyone know how he is doing now? I just couldnt imagine this happening, I would be a wreck. When my nephew was just a little over a year old my sister spilled boiling water down his back, she was making tea and turned around and didnt notice he was there and tripped on him and spilled it. It was crazy, and I will never forget that day. The worst part was when they got to the hospital the Dr actual made a comment that she did it on purpose. I thought her husband was going to hit him, and my mom gave him a few words. It was horrid and my sister blamed herself and thought he would have scars and that he would hate her when he grew up. But he is 11 now and no signs of it. Well sorry for the little story, my heart goes out to that mom and I really hope he is doing great.
  19. Looks great, that scent had me intrigued so I had to look it up the description, sounds wonderful!!!
  20. That is beautiful, great job. And that mold looks huge!!!!
