  1. Hey hey! :yay::yay: This is just to let yall know registration for the 2010 Tennessee Soap and Candle Social is open! There are some interesting things going on this year. And we would love to have yall come to Tennessee in May.
  2. Thank you, ma'am. You've made that embarrassingly easy. lol
  3. I don't know that you would need a blend if you just used singlely lavender or clary sage. A blend could include 1 pt lavender, 1 pt lemon, 5 pt clary sage or perhaps 1 pt rosemary, 1 pt lemon, 5 pt neroli.
  4. How do you determine the jar lid sizes when companies term them differently?
  5. Hi, Tru, I use Propay and love it! It's just right for what I need it for. I have no complaints. I ordered my plate from Mr Imprinter here: http://stores.ebay.com/Mr-Imprinter and have my Propay account number, biz name, city, and state.
  6. If one co states a lid is size "83CT", how do I determine what size another company lists it as? (Well, hope that makes sense)
  7. I love this supplier and will highly reccomend them. I did, however, have 1 problem with them. I was shorted 1 cobalt lip tube and tried to email receiving no answer. I called and got the rudest hman being I have ever talked to! I then sent a very nice email to the owner explaining my problem and letting her know that she might need to check her warehouse employee's manners. I promptly received the rest of my order and have never had another problem. Again, I highly recommend their services. (Sometimes the owners do not know whats going on along the road and only need be informed - nicely.)
  8. I don't know where you live but Auto-Owners has the liability insurance you might need(I'm a soaper mainly.). They only cover a limited area, though. You can find out if you are in that area and an agent here: http://agency.auto-owners.com/ It is around $400 a year.
  9. $0-45% shouldn't be a problem if you are using a "soft" oil like RBO or soy but I don't think you will need that much. It doesn't take as much babassu as it does cocnut or PKO.
  10. Excellent, Irena!! Beautiful! Would you mind givimg a pp ratio?
  11. Oh! Was that you up there dancing?!
  12. Jeana, some say you should price wholesale by taking actual cost times some number I forget. I didn't know that when I was approached about offering wholesale. I just set a minimum number of bar purchase and charged 60% of my retail. That's been about 6 years ago and it still works well for me.
  13. And it will depend on whether you are working with a single EO or with a blend. You might want to learn to add them by percentages to the total weight of the batch which would cover both.
  14. Now wait a minute!!!! They're blaming me! All I did was resist being taken to a bawdy girls' show at the casino!!!! Then they brought the bawdy girls' show onto the trolley! Freebird? More like Jailbirds! :laugh2: :laugh2:
  15. The AquaSapone link I gave you was, as you found, a biz in Australia but the US distributor is www.annelees.com but her site is down for maintinance at present.
  16. ...well, as serious as bawdy women will let it be. :laugh2: If you are asking yourself if you missed anything, I can tell you in one word - yes. (And I noticed earlier that the date has been posted for next year's meeting so you need to go ahead and plan to be there July 17, 2010.) Everything was well organized and flowed without a hitch. Each of the demos/speakers were of great interest to most, if not all, and offered some very interesting info! I have to tell you that Sherri, the EO lady, was my fave. The amount of goodies we brought home, you could say, more than paid for our trip! Thanks, Abbie et al, for a wonderful meeting! Let me give you some advice, though. DO NOT get on the casino trolley with SYR or Scented! Your life will be changed forever...sigh
  17. So are you the one I told I'd send them to ?!?? Need an addy Now, ain't it a bit warm to be wearin' that hat?! I was told everyone needed a magic hat. Does that mean I start now to have them all ready for next year? If that's the case I'll be waiting for my t-shirt
  18. Hey, I told somebody I would send them some of my bath salts but I've forgotten who that was. Wow! You bawdy women must of had a great time! Where was I all this time?!!??!
  19. Maybe, just maybe, this would come close? http://www.aquasapone.com.au/emulsifiers.html
  20. I know this is a stretch but I need a couple of ounces of ylang ylang II or III EO. If anyone can help me out, I'd lubya forever!
  21. You might try these, too. http://www.wrapsmart.com/ http://www.shrinkwrapstore.com/store.php?crn=209&rn=392&action=show_detail
  22. I actually saw a container that has really got me wanting to make a candle but I cannot find it anywhere! If I had a digital cam I would post a pic but I do not so I will discribe it best I can. It is a forest green frosted glass and an apothecary, I think. It has a (dark)wooden cap with an insert that makes it fit snug. The size is 5.15oz(146g) of either weight or volume, as I do not know how candles are presented to sell. It is not very large - 3 ½ in. tall, bottom of 2½ in. dia, mouth is 2 in. dia. I would sure like to find this container so any help yall could give would be so appreciated! eta: Btw, I have done a thorough search for this thing and cannot find it anywhere so I am not asking to do my work for me. I am truely at a deadend.
  23. Yikes! The bulgarian is not to my liking. It's so flat for a lavender. The English and French are my faves.
  24. Great to hear, Jennifer! Glad to hear you won't give up It'll take some time, and a few more shows you won't be happy with, but you will eventually build a schedule of annual shows you know will be successful for you & will be a joy to attend.
