  1. Hi guys... thanks heaps for your replies. Los Angeles is what I meant. I'm not really quite sure what I will ask him to get me. Powder dyes might be the go...we don't have them here..they weigh very little...so perhaps some of them. I can't wait to look at genwax...ooohhh happy shopping here I come!!!!
  2. Hi Guys, My son is going to LA and Hawaii and I'm hoping there is a candle supply store somewhere near him so he can pick me up a few things...saves sooo much on shipping here to Aussie. Cheers, hellen
  3. Hi Guys, Hospitals over her euse Emu Oil on their burn victims to help reduce scarring. I use it on my face, my daughter on her belly (her stretch marks were shocking)...and I swear by it. I am an Emu addict...lolol Cheers, Hellen
  4. Perhaps a smidgeon of black to your red will deeped the shade. Cheers, Hells
  5. I just finished burning a container candle that was originally orange all over however it ended up with a top that was caramel after I had initially burned it. It stayed that way til the bietter end. Just turned caramel where the melt pool was. I thought it was how the heat of burning had effected the original colour? Perhaps that's what is happening to you?
  6. Hi guys, A month or so ago I spilled a lot of paraffin wax over my kitchen cabinets. I thought I had cleaned it all up, but now I realise there is some on the corners of kickboards...and when I moved the frig there is also some on the tiles. I've tried scraping it...but nothing I do seems to be getting it all off. Any ideas how I can really clean it off? Cheers, Hellen
  7. They you guys for that.....going to make some this afternoon. What else do I do on a rainy cold day???? hehehhee Cheers
  8. I tried making a smelly jelly and the smell wasn't strong at all. Can you tell me how you do it? Cheers, Hells
  9. I'm wanting to make a 'scrubby' soap for my son but am wondering if there is a technique to ensure the pumice doesn't settle on the bottom? Also, how much pumice should I actually use?? TIA Hellen
  10. Heavens..... It's been raining here for about 4 days now and my salts bars are 'leaking' everywhere. I have three salt lamps and they always seep liquid when it rains...kind of forgot that salt will perform that way in soap also. Will this effect the soap in any way? I am trying to cure them...so should I add extra time onto the cure time due to the weather? Cheers, Hellen
  11. I'd love one as well....even a really good site that explains everything about the different wicks, what they best suit, diameters of candles etc
  12. Sorry Satin Ducky using your name in vain (not to mention the bad advice)...is it Scented? Bugger....I thought I would remember since CDN 's are the onl;y wicks I use... Hells
  13. Hi, I use a CDN 20 or 22 in my 10oz apocathery jars. Just recently I tried using 2 x CDN 10's and that worked out fine also. I am even going to try 2 x CDN 8's and see how that goes. Is it Satin Ducky that I have noticed using CDN's?? She may be able to help also. I think she understands the difference between CDN and CD's....(hope it's her...hehehhe) Cheers, Hells
  14. Thanks for all your replies....I feel better. I have cut them, they stuck to the cutter though. They actually remind me of coconut slices. Is that what they are meant to look like? The salt appears to have sunk mostly to the bottom. They are reasonably hard but not hard emough for me to try one in the shower as yet. I'm going to let them cure for about 4 weeks and then see how they are to use in the shower. Right now I think if I tried one the bottom layer just may seperate....hehehe I will keep trying though...... Cheers, Hells
  15. Hi Guys, I've just made my first batch of salt bars. I forgot to add fragrance, I just dumped the salt in and stirred for a little while, superfatted at 15% and NOW I read the salt bar tutorial and realise I should NOT have just dumped the salt in. Also, I think most are superfatting between 5-10% and mine is a whopping 15%. I am soooo disappointed in myself that I didn't read more carefully. I used 75% CO, 10% Apricot Oil, 10% Castor Oil and 5% Cocoa Butter. Gawd....I am so hoping an angel helps me and allows these ones to work out.....I was so excited to try them. Thanks for letting me vent, Hells

  19. Hi, I'm an Aussie and I buy a lot from the States. I prefer the flat rate boxes. Suppliers usually tell me how much of whatever I want to buy will fit into the boxes available. I email them what I would like and they work out the most effective box for it. Of course, this doesn't apply when buying heaps of moulds etc Cheers Hellen
  20. Hi, Not that I can help, but I'm following this thread also. I only use CDN's and often wonder the same thing. Cheers, Hellen
  21. I was hoping to buy GB415.....will rethink it now. I was hoping to buy enough for a couple of years.....lolol while I can get it at a good price. The cost will go through the roof over here (Aussie) soon. Cheers, Hells
  22. Hi guys, I'm wanting to bulk up on wax and am wondering just how long I can keep it before using it? Cheers
  23. Hi, yep..my opinion is to drive also. That way you get to 'see' and 'smell' everything...you also have the opportunity to build a great rapport with the staff...... Cheers, hells
