  1. Perhaps you'll find it under 'incense supplies' at one of companies you shop at. It's also known as incense solvent. It retains fragrance incredibly well....It's real name is Di propylene Glycol.
  2. I only use beare escentuals also. I usually buy mine from Ebay (it's incredibly expensive over here)...I'll check out our board members store also. Cheers, Hells
  3. Hi guys, Where do you buy your moulds from? Cheers, Hells
  4. Hi guys, I'm going to try hurricanes..I know they should be at least 5"in diameter...but which height mould do you think is best and the most attractive? Cheers, Hells

  6. Hello, Do I mix fragrance oil with dpg when making oils for oil burners? You know the ones where people put water in their burner and then add the scent??? Or do I just use uncut fragrance oil??? Cheers, Hells
  7. Hi, Anyone know if Candlechem ships to Australia? I sent an email a cou[ple of days ago now and to date no response. Perhaps they don't ship her eso have left a reply to me til after the busy season???? Cheers, Hells
  8. Hello, I use powder colours as well. A little goes a LONG way...just a freckling is all that is needed. Staining is an issue as discussed above, but if used correctly it's not a problem. Cheers, Hells
  9. They haven't returned my email as quickly as they did yours.....I'm just hoping they aren't all gone before I get a reply. By hook or by crook, I'm going to find the other place that had them. I have 3 days off over Chrissy...so 'a-searching' I will go!!! Cheers, Hells
  10. Mate...give up on the Advanced. Sorry to be blunt...but I have tried from the few suppliers here and our Advanced (no idea if it's EXACTLY the same as outside Aussie) is hopeless. While the candles look great (usually) the scent throw is woeful!!! If you can't bear the idea of dissing the Advanced, try using a blend (para and soy is good)..or if you want to keep everything as natural as possible play around with some of the other waxes available to us. I thoroughly understand your disappointment and frustration with what's available here...but what can we do? I just ordered a shipment that cost me $132 US and then paid $152 US for delivery....hehhehee. I'm just hoping my items dont break in transit!!!! Do you only make soy candles??? Cheers Hellen
  11. Candlechem sells a hold-a-mold for &8.98 and replacement springs for $3.89. It's still not the store I was originally looking at because when I was looking at the hurricane moulds a little message at the bottom said something like..."most eople who bought this item bought this as well". If someone sees a store where I can get everything in one hit PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. My email is hellenr@optusnet.com.au Cheers, Hells
  12. I actually saw the dipping holders just this week when I was searching for things...I am going to try like mad to see if I can find them again. I remember they also sold springs for them....I assumed they broke or became slack after using them a few times??? When I find them again, I will come back and SHARE!!!! hehehe Cheers, Hells
  13. Hello, Ask the candle maker who posted the question about titanium dioxide. That's used as a whitener. Then, when you know...tell us ALL!!! heheheheheh I have NO idea how to make candles really really white...no candle supplier here sells white dye. Cheers, Hells
  14. Thankyou...... I'll buy the inserts just in case I end up wanting to embed shells etc....I am sooo happy that I now understand what the mould inserts are for.... I thought pourette had closed down??? mmmm shall go searching again. I am beginning to think candle making is MY LIFE!!! hehehheh Cheers, Hells
  15. Hi, Perhaps mix it with a small amount of wax thoroughly and then add it to the bulk wax may help. I dont use it with candles (but I may now)..I use it predominantly when making soap...and when making large quantities that is what I do. Cheers, Hells
  16. Hello, Peak Candle Supplies had some moulds but I couldn't find the water bath dipping utensil. gardening gloves sound good..... I looked at the techniques section for embedding a photograph (that's where I got the original idea from) and it doesnt use an insert? I am wondering what the insert is good for??? Thanks....this board and members are fantastic!!! Hells
  17. Hi guys.... I saw these somewhere...but can't recall where?? I'm wanting ti buy hurricane moulds and the carrier that you place them in when putting them into the water bath. Any ideas where I can get it from?? Also...How can you embed something into the hurricanr if you use the hurricane insert?? Obviously, I am a 'hurricane virgin' , plus I live in Australia so I would like to buy everything I need at one time and try and save on postage costs. ALL advice will be SOOOOOO welcome.
