  1. Okay.. Here is your base recipe: (it's even in YOUR measurements!!!) 10 oz Ultra Shea butter (though I did use unrefined) 2 T Coconut Oil 1 T Veg oil (though I did use Hemp and it really isn't that light of an oil, but goes well with a patch scent) 1 T mentol crystals (melted) ... and be prepared for it to be overpowering 2 tsp. glycerin FO or EO (optional) Lotioncrafter's calls for 5% Cetyl so why not add that to what you already have and see what it brings to the formula. It says on her site that they are adding it to help with summer heat stability. If I can ever find a wee bit of time to play, I might try it, but i don't see it in the near future.
  2. While Hydrovance is nice, in some formulas it can change the PH over time. Lotioncrafter has a nice formula for a massage butter that you could tweak to make harder. It's called Divine Decadence Massage Butter.
  3. The 2T of Menthol crystals is too much IMHO. This formula has 3.8% which is almost double what the "normal" usage rate is. Menthol Crystal Typical Usage Rate 1.5 - 2% What I would do with this recipe is: 8oz shea.... mebbe. I like painya butter better, but it's a "drier" butter. Possibly split it with the shea. 2oz Cocoa Butter or Kokum or a blend of both 1T jojoba 1.5tsp Menthol crystals Doubt I would use the glycerin since it's water soluble. But not sure what I would add in its place either.
  4. They may not have been in stock when you ordered. I ordered a couple to see if they will work for what I want. Will post the weight of soap when I get them.

  6. I just sent an email to find out if they have them in stock. Will post when I get a reply
  7. Has anyone ordered this one? http://thecookwarekitchen.com/sl-100rd-half-sphere-pan.html If so, how much do they weigh?
  8. I have only tried once using canned GM. It had guar in it. Nuff said:angry2: IMHO, once the lye hits it, you really don't know WHAT is left. What I do know is that neither me or my customers can tell a difference and it's a WHOLE lot easier! I used to mix up the milk powder with water and freeze it and then do the SLOWLY adding the lye to it. Adding it (powdered) to the oils has REALLY simplified the process. A few less steps is great! At least for me. Do what works best for you. Make some small batches both ways and see which one you like better.
  9. You can either mix it with water and freeze it in cubes. Add lye SLOWLY in a cold water bath. Stir ALOT... or I use it by blending 1-1.5T ppo to the warmed oils. Blend well so there aren't any clumps left. Make your lye water and soap away. I buy mine in bulk 55# bags. I will be buying another bag in February if anyone is interested. I don't know the price yet though. ETA: the last time I purchased it, I paid roughly $6.00/lb
  10. I call it Marauder. It sells slowly for me so I won't miss it when it''s gone.
  11. Yep that's where I order from. Haven't ever had a problem. I like to only have to buy 1 case at a time. Shipping was reasonable and fairly fast.
  12. I have had my own site for a few years now. I don't get much business at all from it. I am considering closing it and going to Etsy. However, I know nothing about it. What are the PROS and CONS? Is it easy to navigate? Is it easy to upload and sale from? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
  13. Has anyone made these in a vanilla scent? I also managed to find a place that would sell 1 roll of the corrugated cardboard.. Man... was THAT a big box. I have plenty for quite some time.
  14. Your recipe: This is what I tried 1 c. baking soda 1/2 c. citric acid 1/2 c. corn starch 1/3 c. epsom salts (finely ground) 1/4 c. powdered milk (buttermilk will clump so don't use it) - i used goat milk 2 ½ T melted cocoa butter 1tsp fragrance or essential oil water (ended up being 1 tsp) This is what I would try: 1c baking soda 1/2 c citric 1/2c epsoms salts 2T cornstarch 2T powdered milk 2.5TB Melted CB Fragrance Witch Hazel
  15. Technically, no you wouldn't need to. However, if you are selling, once the product is out of your hands, you have no idea what the consumer will do with it. I prefer to preserve.
  16. I signed up for the newsletter but didn't get it:sad2:. Is the sale still on?
  17. That's good to know. I used to have an awesome Med Fig but alas the person went outta business. I will be trying this one soon.
  18. Behaved great. I do a 33% discount and it didn't rush me at all. Was able to do a 2 color swirl and it was a small 1lb batch.
  19. You missed this one from MoonWorks. Tropical Element This fragrance opens with a wash of creamy coconut milk spiked with fresh coriander and infused with warm tonka bean, musk and sandalwood. The result is a classic coconut...naked without butter and bakery notes and void of the sweet overwash of last summer's suntan lotion.
  20. Yep! I am. YOU need to come to the next gathering at the Meadows... next July!
  21. Has anyone CPed this yet? I made some test melts with it and it IS AWESOME!!! It's B&B safe so I will definately be putting it in B&B products but am curious about it in CP.
  22. Hey kris where are you located at? You gotta be close by. Come on ABBIE.. I got faith in you that you WILL catch up to me. Or be 1 FO behind!!!
