  1. As I said earlier, we use a lot of their oils. Mostly the B grade, but recently we've been getting the A grade. I really can't tell the difference between the two. If you really want to spring for the A grades, they are only $2-3 more per pound. They also have great samples... buy 3 get one free... which makes them around $1.80/oz.
  2. OHHHHH.... You mean like pedestals? When you said holders... I was thinking like a votive cup for a huge pillar. I've seen them at the dollar tree and big lots, not sure of a wholesaler thou.
  3. As Scented said, on your second layer, pour below the top of the mold.... they do your second pour of the second layer.
  4. You need to pour your second layer slightly higher than your first layer to assure it will adhere to the bottom layer. Depending on your wax, you still may have to do a second pour on your top layer, just as if you would if you were only doing a single color. HTH Tristan
  5. Their F/O's are hit and miss for me. For the most part, they work well...
  6. What about using a dehumidifier when making them? I was talking to the hubby about that, and we were thinking that it would work. Has anyone tried that?
  7. I agree with the botanical... I'd hate having customers complain about rose buds stick in their.... anyway! I do like the idea of having them in a bag... almost like the bath teas. I looked at the tablet maker, but I think we are going to do with the meat baller. They aren't going to be as large as what I'd like, but it's a start. Wish us luck! The journey of a thousand B&B products begins with one bomb! And so begins the journey..... :tiptoe:
  8. Thanks All... I appreciate the tips! I have a few recipes that we'll be testing out... I'll post some results as they come!
  9. We took our former roommate to court over bills and whatnot. After waiting 6 months for a court date, we had the case. He had an attorney, and I represented myself and the hubby. We waited another 3 months for a determination. We won! By law they are required to make payment within 14 days, but that was 5 months ago, and haven't seen one cent. We could put liens on his property, but he already owes his college and whatnot. Plus the added expense to serve him, and collect the money. If you want money... good luck!
  10. How many do you get out of a batch like that? And do you use a meatballer? or the plastic molds? Some of what I've been reading... people have said the plastic molds crack easily. :tiptoe:
  11. LOL... I actually just got done watching that... the outtakes are so funny!
  12. Of course I will be testing them... that goes without saying. (Or at least it should... not always the case from some folks I've seen) I'm just trying to get a good jumping off point. All of the recipes seem to be similar, with the exceptions of oils that are used. I've seen from regular vegetable oils, to sunflower and safflower, grapeseed, avocado, and more. I just like to go a cost analysis before wasting time and money on creating a new product. Are baking soda and SLSa interchangeable, do they have the same effects? As for bomb scoops... they look as if they would work better than the plastic 2 piece molds... opinions? Thanks Tristan
  13. We are working on our new B&B products, and were wondering about Bombs. I saw this recipe on the board.... good one? Dry Phase 2 cups baking soda 1 cup citric acid 1 cup cornstarch Wet Phase 1/3 cup Grapeseed Oil 1 T. Strawberry F/O from Brambleberry 2 T. Aloe Gel Also, the bomb scoop... good investment? Foil wrapper... will the foils effect the bombs in any way? I've seen a lot with regular plastic wrap, but they look blah! Thanks Tristan
  14. It really depends on what type of candle you sell, where they are going, and how fast you want them to get there. Mainly retailers will only ship on Mondays to prevent candles from sitting in storage over the weekend. HTH Tristan
  15. I giggled when I read that. Doing it from up high reminds me of the Cheez-it commercials where the drop the cheese from an airplane. I wonder if filling a Super Soaker with colored soap and blasting it would have the desired effect. Good Idea though... just having some fun!
  16. I believe what you are asking is that you want to have colors all thru the soap? There is a post in the classes section that shows layering... ie.... Regular soap... Then use your colored soap to do some swirls... Then another layer... More swirls...
  17. In that situation, I think it warrants shoving the hugest pillar candle you have... straight up her :lipsrseal .... then slowing doing the running man :tiptoe: back to your booth! :laugh2:
  18. Don't give up! We did a flea market last year about an hour away... 6am - 6pm, and made about $50. Most of which was made from soda and water we sold to the vendor next to us. The way I look at it, especially in this economy... money is money. Had you sat at home and done nothing, you'd still have nothing. At least you sold some.
  19. Are they taking pictures to steal ideas? Or are you dressed up as a clown? :laugh2::laugh2:
