  1. Just begin testing this one in C3.....wow, it throws like crazy. I have it burning downstairs and my daughter just said she can smell it upstairs in the back back bedroom. Definitely a keeper....I'm thinking about mixing in some of Bert's coconut.....
  2. The pink sugar and honeydew only burned about 5 minutes before I blew them out because of the tunneling. At that point the depth of the tunnel was about 1/2". I can try burning longer but I'm having heatgun stress since mine burned up last night and I'm waiting for a new one to arrive.....those tunnels are going to be tough to get out without my trusty gun
  3. Hi Stella: Thanks for the quick reply..... Largest part of jar is 2 3/4" Opening is 2 1/2" I don't think the room temp is any different than normal. I actually am testing three new scents....all in the same jar size. ICS Pink Sugar and ICS HoneyDew pretty much did the same thing, tunneling after about 3 minutes with ECO10 The ICS Aloha pineapple is burning nicely even a little slow with an ECO10.
  4. :undecided I'm test burning C3 with Pink Sugar. I'm using an ECO10 which is what works with most FO's in my jar - 16oz mason. When I lit the Pink Sugar the flame was burning nicely but within 5 minutes had tunneled about 1/2" deep by 1" wide..... Since this is really my first tunneling event - I'm not sure if I should wick up or down...... Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
  5. Thanks this is very helpful.....makes me want to start purchasing some samples and begin testing. Kandlekrazy and FlightofFancy are you both using Soy? If so which kind? I'm using C3. In addition to the scents I listed previously from CS, I'd also be looking for replacements for the following so if you've tried any of these, I'd love to hear your feedback. Thx banana nut bread cranberry marmalade hansel and gretel's house lovespell mistletoe spice wassail vanilla hazelnut wildberry mousse
  6. I would love to know how these oils compare other FO suppliers such as Candlescience. The prices seem really good and I'd love to reduce costs by switching some of the ones I currently purchase from Candlescience such as Clean Cotton, Cinnamon Sticks, Caramelized Pralines, Apples and Maple Bourbon...etc. Thanks
  7. Anyone have feedback on these in Soy - I use C3. Thanks
  8. Just received it today.....hopefully I can get it in wax this weekend. It smells great OOB....I'm hoping it's stronger than their French Vanilla....which didn't throw well in my C3..... Also, received Blackberry Marmalade which smells really good......
  9. Oh I believe you there.....but for some reason it's the ones that frost right off the bat that really annoy me the most
  10. Just for the heck of it.....I just poured at 160F instead of the 120F that I was pouring at and they came out beautiful. That was the only thing I changed..... Back to pouring hotter.....I did get a sink hole but I was heatgunning the tops before anyway....
  11. This is a very good point since these devices don't give us exact control over the temperature of the wax.....I'm wondering if devices designed for melting wax such as commercial products would do a better job than standin's such as the presto and turkey fryer......I know I can't afford them but there might be a reason why they cost so much..... Thanks Stella again for your insight.....
  12. Yes, I did use a presto pot prior to the Turkey Fryer and still use it once in awhile, mostly for critters. I love the Turkey Fryer, it makes everything go so muck quicker. I got mine at Linen and Things....I had found a coupon online so it was $90ish with shipping....just the pour spout and the ability to melt more quantity is well worth it. The hubby says, nothing like having the tools you need....
  13. I've noticed sweating with certain FO's...for example, CS's Brandied Pear and Lovespell both do it....and always when the candles get warm.
  14. That's a good point......I've been adding the USA to my turkey fryer and probably should add that to the pouring pot instead....I could probably say the Turkey Fryer is USA made now instead of Made in China Seriously, I'm not even sure where it's made but that struck me funny.....
  15. I haven't tried Coconut oil yet. Not sure I want to after reading about the burnt coconut oil in the bottom of someone's turkey fryer. I'm still wondering how that 2-3" of wax in the bottom will ever come out;) I was just reading through the sticky on what everyone uses to prevent frosting and it looks like beeswax was mentioned quite often. Seems like that might be worth a try since it was also recommended for tarts with c3....
  16. Yes, I would agree that since I began using USA it helped but I'm still using it so definitely not the cure. Believe me, I would love to go natural color but after asking for feedback seems like more people like the dyed colors....I personally think the natural looks nice...
  17. CS for me too.......definitely a favorite along with their wildberry mousse
  18. It seemed like I was doing pretty good by pouring C3 cooler in the summer/fall. Frosting was pretty minimal. Now pouring the same candles, fo/wax/etc...it's getting worse and more pronounced. I've tried to remedy by keeping the jars warm and waiting to pour until 125F to no avail. My question is, should I now be pouring hotter during the winter season? Oh, also, the only other thing that has changed since I've been having more problems is I'm using an Electric Turkey Fryer and I the wax has been getting hotter than 170F, closer to 180F. I wouldn't think this would matter....I'm starting to like Fire&Ice's idea of just pouring hotter all the time because as Stella said, Frost will always rear it's head just when you think it's gone......some of these even look like stars which are kind of nice. Thanks....
  19. I do add USA currently to the C3 so just adding beeswax sounds like a good option. Next question, where's a good place to get beeswax....and how much do you add to a pound of C3. I add about 2 tsp of USA to a pound of wax. Thanks again.
  20. Thanks for the quick reply.....I'll try your suggestion...
  21. Sounds like most of you are doing well with tarts and I find myself using them alot. So, I'm ready to embark on adding soy tarts to my line as well as electric warmers. I currently use C3 and would like to use this for the tarts but want them to come out of the clamshell mold easily. I understand I should add a pillar wax...does it matter what kind and what would the ratio be? Also, I was looking at WSP's clamshell molds. Are these good quality and has anyone had the skunk problem with these that someone mentioned they had with another clamshell mold supplier..... As always, thanks for the forum's valuable knowledge.
  22. Thanks everyone.....the margarita themed basket was given yesterday at a housewarming party and was a great success. I do find they are time consuming little guys to make though....
  23. FlightofFancy: Yes, those are the ones......thanks for the link as well. Wasn't aware there was such a place or a link.
  24. These guys just got dipped today. A Chihuahua and his friend a Mini Schnauzer. I still have to decorate them but thought they came out so cute. They're both going to be gifts and Chihuahua is going in a basket with some Tequila, Margarita glasses and mixers. The plush is from Russ and at first I thought it was going to be too soft but it worked out fine....
  25. I saw a 4oz glass container that had a wavy top edge. Anyone know anything about this jar? Where to purchase, etc Thanks
