  1. I use roofing nails and they work perfect. You can get several at a hardware store fairly cheap.
  2. I wrote the following back after reading you guys thoughts on the subject. The only reason I wrote back was for customer service and relations reasons. You never know who they may refer my direction or maybe even become a customer themself once they realize the time and money it will take. Anyway, here is what I wrote back (copied and pasted directly from the email) "We do not like to give out our trade secrets due to the time and energy involved in finding the right formula and products that work for us. Our suggestion to you is to do a google search on this topic or more specific topics that interest you. We all start somewhere and we wish you the best of luck with your adventures." sound short sweet and nice enough to you all?
  3. I got an email today from someone who sent comments in off my website. The email is simple and says "What oil can I use to make aroma ornies?"....um....do a search on google!!! I haven't responded to her and do not plan to. What would you all do in a situation like this. I know we all learn somewhere but I find it a little offensive for her to even ask me when I make them.
  4. Unfortunately Jen, you can't get blood out of a turnip as the saying goes. If she won't pay you now, she probably wouldn't pay you even with a judgement. I'm not certain how Canadian laws are but in TX, they can tell her to pay but making her pay is a whole another issue. You'd be out even more money to take it to court. Money you probably wouldn't recoup and don't need to spend. As hard as it is and as much as you want to sue, I'd say cut your loses and move on. Everyone here knows now who she is and thus if they choose to do business with her so be it. I know times can get hard and money can get tight but if she made an obligation to you she should have paid it......in payments if nothing else. Period! Or at least politely touch base with you early on to let you know the situation so you could both come to a conclusion as to what to do.
  5. Sorry, you must be mistaken because candlelady is from Texas.
  6. I know that Ohio Casualty insurance is exactly this way. You are buying only general business liability and it will cover you only if/when someone decides to sue you. Should anything happen to your home or its contents during production or otherwise then NO, it is not covered. Same goes if someone breaks into your home. I specifically asked.
  7. I used Yahoo for a few months for small business website several years ago and I had them as my domain registrar for a couple of years. I just recently switched over to a different domain registrar. Maybe I didn't know all my options, etc but I really didn't like Yahoo. Do not get me wrong, it is a great place to start but I couldn't add my own graphics and had to use one of their predesigned templates and just plug my text into it. I didn't like that but like I said maybe I didn't know all the features. That said I did make a few sales using yahoo. However, Yahoo does take a percentage of your sale when it is made and I believe they took additional money at the end of the month based on how much you sold. I do know they took a bit out each time I sold something. I didn't feel it was wort it cus they took out something and then paypal percentages, etc so I just switced over to Designer 218 where I was able to put my own graphics up and there are no per item fees to sell anything. But, then again, if you aren't selling a lot and want it more as a place for someone to view your product then this is a good place to start. Sorry I couldn't help you more. As I said, this was just my experience with Yahoo and maybe I didn't know all that I could do with them and maybe their services may have changed in the 2 and a half years since I used them.
  8. I am in the process of clearing out/deleting the scents that are not good sellers and in the process I am making a list of scents that sell which will allow me to buy in bulk. Too many fragrances (like I have now) is confusing to some!
  9. Not to mention if someone has a reaction or gets ill and tries to sue him......we all know he probably also doesn't have insurance either! This guy and this story just sends chills up my back. I'd report him and not think twice! It's people like him that end up costing the rest of us more money for insurance, etc.
  10. It would help if you listed your location.
  11. Trudi......Are you selling anything using this site?
  12. I find that VERY funny because i just renewed December 14th and at the same rate of 500 a year. My policy is actually written for a cost of 310/yr but they won't write a policy for anything less than 500 a year so I pay the extra because even then it is cheaper.
  13. Anyone know where I can find these without paying an arm and a leg for shipping? Thanks.
  14. I looked there but must have overlooked them as I didn't see them. I'll go look again. Thanks for the heads up!
  15. Have you used them? This seems like exactly what I am looking for.
  16. I found them in a search too. Was wondering if there was a company that someone here had used and would recommend.
  17. Anyone know where I may find 1 and 1/4 inch round white or kraft circle labels. I want to print my own votive warning labels with the scent on the bottom. Anyone know a place that I may find these? I have only had luck finding the 1 and 1/2 inch labels. Thanks for your help.
  18. I am looking for some shrink wrap bags so I can shrink wrap votives and tarts. I had ordered some in the past but as with a few other things I don't order often, I can't remember from where. I can go into the back of my filing cabinet and dig up records to find out where I suppose but before doing that I wanted to ask if anyone knew where I could get some. thanks.
  19. I am also in Texas and also use Tedford insurance but my policy is underwritten by Ohio Casualty. It's 500 a year for my policy with First and Last months payment due when renewing then installments. Breaks down to like 84 dollars the first month and 42 or so the others with no last month payment.
  20. Have you used the kraft labels from there before with no problem. If so, then contact online labels about this. There may be a problem with the product. I ordered from them and the first batch was fine. Did a reorder and they kept getting stuck in my printer. I found if I trimmed the edges slightly then they were fine. I told them about it by email and they said it's a rare problem that happens when the roll shifts slightly when being cut to 8 and 1/2 by 11. So, they said they looked up the series number for my product and were pulling the remainder of product so it wouldn't happen again. They also offered to refund my money or send out new product to test. I got notificatin yesterday that they are sending me some sheets to try at no cost to me. Not saying that the labels are the problem but you may write and ask if the raw materials or something have changed.
  21. Well grama...I have 2 wholesale orders and a fundraiser I'm working on. Hope I'm not taking on too much by adding the black friday sale but we'll see. Most of my work has to be done at night after the kids are in bed or while the youngest is napping so my production ability has slowed as well. Maybe all these things going on will help make up for short sales for the majority of the year LOL
  22. So far none of my "regulars" have purchased in the last month so a sale coming up would definately catch their attention so I am planning to send out emails to them later today or tomorrow to let them know.
  23. Thanks...that is who sent me the catalog..Uline...I recall now after seeing the name but couldn't recall before.
  24. Thought about an internet special but just not sure yet. I only do online/internet and wholesale sales at this time anyway. No store front of my own so that makes a difference as well.
