Oh! Find out if any of them give gift baskets to new buyers! When we bought our house, our realtor came by two weeks later and brought us a nice gift basket filled with candy and popcorn, and had coupons for local places for $10 off pizza, free movies/pop etc for a "movie night". It was really sweet and we found our new favorite pizza place because of it.

I have 3 molds from Paul/TOG. Anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get them. I don't have any problem with this whatsoever because he is upfront about it. They are made to order. Please read ALL the wording on his Etsy shop before ordering, especially the last big paragraph. I've never had a problem with communication. My last one was near Christmas time and took longer. I got an email saying why. No problem. He's just one man who makes wonderful molds. It's not a "company" with multiple employees making molds. A person can only do so much in one day.

I work at a bank, they'll get tossed if an employee sees it (and doesn't take it). I have a small set up in the women's lounge area for co-workers.

That's one of my major concerns.... if they don't "appreciate" it... then they know how to contact me :embarasse Also, if I were to send them with bill payments, they might get the idea that I actually have money, and we don't want that I am planning a day in Chicago soon... I may print up a bunch and find some bulletin boards. I like that idea for sure.

Strange places you have left business cards? I've heard of people leaving them with tips, in bathrooms, etc, but I can't see myself actually doing it.

Hmm... I don't see that those lip balm bases have shea or hemp in them.... then again, I'm missing things all over today

I use a base for both of my lotions. My customers LOVE the one, and not too sure about the other one yet. I don't feel comfortable making lotion. I will try it someday, but not anytime soon

Yes, I don't see why not. I have soap from October 07 that is just fine. It's wrapped in saran and in a box on a shelf. I wrap mine tightly in saran, but I let it "cure" for a few days. It's a matter of opinion, the base, what you put in it, etc. I like it, and (personally) think it makes a difference.

I like the gemstone idea, although I probably wouldn't do it, just want to know how it's done Already know how to suspend w/o a suspension base. :tiptoe: Already add (way) more items than is recommended. :tiptoe: What I haven't mastered is how to keep fingerprints off. I use a slab mold with dividers and almost always get fingerprints. Even with gloves. Spraying with alcohol doesn't help. How about salt bars? I KNOW it can be done, but mine were, um... yeah.... not very pretty.

I'm going to try the actual recipe (minus the cetyl alcohol) over the weekend. Softskinrocks - Did you do it with the cornstarch? Not sure why that was changed...? That's not in Eugenia's recipe.

Can I leave it out, or sub more e-wax for it? Anyone tried this with mango butter? I don't have shea, but I do have mango and kpangnan butters.

Since I only do m&p, I get mine from someone on Etsy. They come as shreds. She uses EOs. I have orange cinnamon and peppermint (or spearmint? can't recall!). I occassionally use regular toothpaste when I'm in a hurry, but I can definitely tell the difference when I do. I love my tooth soap!

I saw a recipe *somewhere* that called for e-wax and stearic acid. I ordered both of those, and now can't find the darn recipe. It was for a salt or sugar scrub and called for both. I searched the recipes here, and didn't find it... any ideas? Or know of a scrub recipe that calls for these? I did find some recipes that include both, but they are lotions.

I came across a post (another forum I think) doing a google search saying they did it successfully and have been doing it for 2-3 years. I'll see if I can find it again.

I'm working on a M&P salt bar now, but not sure how well it'll work out. I have a RTCP (I think) salt bar now from a swap and it's just fabulous. It's almost gone, and that makes me very sad It's definitely more of a polisher. I use it all over in the shower.
