  1. Forget that. Can you use the Roebic brand from lowes. The crystal drain opener. It said 100% caustic soda...
  2. I am trying chemical companies with no luck. I wanna try soap. HELP
  3. IMO No, You could, but then you would have air pockets all over. The top hardens pretty quick and air gets trapped underneath. I always do a second pour, if not I find that the wick drowns out.
  4. Where is the best place to get oils, butters and preservatives. I am really interested in making bath and body products, but I would like to try a one stop shop in the begining. Who has the best prices with good quality items.
  5. I made it and didn't have either. The ewax already has the PS in it and I didn't find that I had a probelm omitting it. Not sure if that is wrong. I am new too.
  6. I usually use gb 464 with fantastic results. Well, my supplier ran out and I subbed for 444. The hot and cold throw are almost identical, but I get terrible sinkholes when I pour 444 that I never got with 464. I am heating to 180 adding FO and pouring anywhere from 140-150, which is what I pour 464 at. Any ideas?
  7. I was at a supplier today. I was ust wandering around and noticed that they had a few 10# boxes labeled "feathering wax". It also said "requires special wicking". I asked the girl who worked there if it was palm wax because that is the only feathering wax that I know and she said, not get this, "I don't know, they don't tell us what they put in the wax." I could have died. She then told me that they had a sample pillar of it and low and behold it was feathering palm pillar wax, just like CS. Half of the pillar didn't have the feathering design since it was obviously poured too cold. The people who worked there had no idea how to wick it or how to pour it. They didn't even know that it was palm. I am a newbie at this, but I felt good that I knew something that this supplier didn't. I told the salesgirl that in my testing CD and CDN wicks work the best with palm and that it has to be poured very hot and into heated containers or molds to acheive that beautiful pattern. How can you sell something and know NOTHING about it? I thought it was funny and had to share. Thanks to candletech for making me so well informed.
  8. I am not going to be calling them aroma ornies. I just used that to describe them on here. They aren't really going to be called anything, just car air fresheners. The silicone molds are a good idea. Thanks.
  9. I was comissioned by someone at my husbands work who owns a car detailing service to make plain round aroma ornies in very vanilla for him to place under the seats of his clients cars. I am so excited. I am thinking about making them in muffin pans. Does that sound like it would work?
  10. What in the case of a non profit organization like the YMCA> That is who the fundraiser was for.
  11. I am new to fundrasing and I was wondering how you all advertised. Do you send letters to schools or how do you handle that. I have done a couple with the YMCA and would really like to do more. Any ideas?
  12. How do you all handle the tax aspect of fundraising. Do you write off the percent that you give to the organization? How does that work. I know that it is a long time off, but I was just wondering.
  13. I am going to order the bubble wash, bubble bath and lotion base. If anyone has used any of these please let me know how you liked them. I am still stuck on which lotion, so any advice would be great.
  14. Try NG YUZU. It is great in 464 and has no fuel smell. It is a tangy and not too sweet grapefruit smell. Very strong.
  15. I guess my real issue is the lack of being informed of the status of my order and the fact that I was charged shipping for 4 16oz bottles and I only received 2 16oz and 1 8oz. I know that isn't a big difference, but it adds up.
  16. Well, first I got the order and it says that the discontinued Creme Brulee was out of stock, was in stock when I ordered, and green grass only had 8oz. when I ordered 16oz. They credited my card, but would have been nice to get an email or something. I am going to be placing a large order with them for new products and this makes me leary. On top off all of that, the scents that I got I do not like. Don't smell anything like they were advertised. Anyone else have any problems with them.
  17. Thanks so much. Great info. I was scared because the 4 hour mp didn't even cross the tin. I will burn in all the way and see how it goes.
  18. I bought some tins from CS and I use 464. I have never poured into a tin before and wanted to know where to start wick wise. Ihave great luck with 464 and CD wicks and want to know where I should start as far as size. I actually just poured CS Vanilla Hazelnut into a 16oz tin and wicked with cd18. It is test burning now. I also poured NG Palm Island into a 8 oz tin and wicked with a cd16. Does that sound about right. BTW the vanilla hazelnut is awesome. I don't think that the MP is big enough on the 16oz though. We will see. I am at the 2 hour mark.
  19. I found that in 464 I didn't have to wick up on very vanilla. Huh??? I recomend Cranberry Marmalade also, it is wonderful. In all honesty I haven't found one from them that I didn;t like.
  20. I agree that this wax will eventually frost too, but with me it is only certain FO and color combos. Pinks are BAD and greens are too. I melt to 185, add FO, STIR and pour at 150. I love this wax and the scent throw is amazing. GOod luck
  21. Maybe this is studpid too, but if I need to leave for a minute and I am testing scent throw, I fill up my sink with a little water and put the candle in it. If something does happen the water will extinguish the fire. I have only done this once and actually got the idea from someone on this board.
  22. Okay, so I used it last night. I put it on the second tier of my workspace and put my pour pot on my scale under it. It took no time to fill and you could adjust the fill speed so well that measuring was simple. The digital controls are AWESOME, jut set and it beeps when it has reached to right temp. I highly reccomend this. For the money, it can't be beat.
  23. I am laughing so hard that my side hurts. I just went to Walmart to pick up my turkey fryer. The Masterbuilt digital one. OH LORD, I didn't realize how big it is. It looks like I could melt a whole box of wax in that thing. I expected it to be a little bigger than my presto pot, but WOW. I am so excited to use it. I just got my fundraiser tally sheet and I will be putting it to good use. Wish me luck.
  24. I am a shaker too. Just habit I think.
  25. I just set up an account with matchbooks.com. I ordered 2500 custom matchbooks for $100 including shipping. I thought that was a good price and they didn't look as country as the other site. I am going to use them around my candles and as buisness cards at craft shows and such.
