  1. Wow Thanks! That is totally what I was aiming for. Especiall the "about us" page. I did get to personal at one point, then thought, I really do not want complete strangers knowing my life story lol. So I gave about as much info as I give customers at shows. Thanks for the suggestion about replacing a "free shipping" sign. I do have another promotion, it is buy 2 jars get 3 free votives. I couldn't find a place on the home page for it without the clutter, and I did not even think of that. Thanks very much!!
  2. Yep cause we all know you are miss punctuality . LOL! I know I was slow this go round. But they are headed out today. I stayed up all night last night because I changed my mind on the scent I wanted to send. Then I got fancy and triple layered them, but the top layer color came out fugly.
  3. Thanks Yall!! see I thought I went over it one hundred times. I always miss something LOL!! Michi, the BOP is a sweet fruity scent. If you are in the swap I will send you a votive.
  4. Sorry mine is soooo late :lipsrseal . I have boxed them and everything just need to send them!! Dean is right, although not in Beaumont we did have to evacuate for a few days and then the post office was out of commission til this past Mon. I have them shipped tommorrow!!
  5. I just revamped my website and finished it (finally). I took some of the advice from last time and changed the fonts to be read better. I also got rid of the transition thingy except for the first page since I got mixed reviews on it. I also got a merchant account which provided a proffessional shopping cart. It even let me add a coupon code. The only thing it does not do is calculate shipping before the sub-total. However it does calculate before getting your card #. You just have to enter your address info first. But other than that I am quite satisfied. I still have some pics of the product to put up, but I am getting that done slowly. Let me know what ya'll think. Thanks everyone!!--Tess http://www.fourseasonscandles.net
  6. Best pricing I have found is at www.laserinkjetlabels.com They will send you a sample too. OH and they stick really well!! Pretty much permanent on jars. If you put it on crooked you have to peel it and fix pretty quick!!
  7. Yep me too. Not looking for any right now, but I plan to get some later when my buisness gets really big.
  8. What are your opinions on the Royal Aromatics FO's? The customer service is wonderful. I asked for 5 samples, and they sent the regular grade but I would be using the premium highest quality. I was not too impressed with the samples. they were a bit weaker if not the same as the ones I am using. Is there a major diffrence between what I got and the premiuim? TIA--Tess
  9. Oh geez that really sucks. Oh well things cannot get worse it seems, so the outlook will be good
  10. My Beeswax candles are sold as a seprerate line. Although it dies say in fine print "by Four Seasons Candles" My beeswax name is more catchier and fitting for my BW candles. I can see a benefit from changing your name too. I know lots of folks who won't buy because of stupid things like that.
  11. Yep LSCS is the best for April Fresh. I use NG for the Clean Breeze. Both are great sellers for me.
  12. Oh yeah definately what Indescent said!! Sounds like a scam. I would tell her that proffessional companies should understand that there are scams out there, and if you gave everyone something free, you would be broke! She should buy a tester plain and simple. Her loss.
  13. How long are you test burning for? The melt pool shoud be about 1/2 in 3 hours for the hex. Also are your wicks decent quality? You aren't adding any other additives (other than UV) are ya?? What about your dye? I have used the same combo in the past for about a year, and I used the 44 zincs. Alsways got a perfect melt pool.
  14. DANG!! :shocked2: I use 9oz hexs and J223 also, but 51's and 62's especially seem to large for that size and wax. Your jar does not get too hot?? I use the 40 series in my hexs.
  15. I don't like making them either but they make about 50% of my sales so I have to.. Key to my biz is variety.
  16. You know I am also wondering if the sprays and stuff are causing the effect? I do not use any sort of mold release in my votives. Weather I use glass, aluminum, or polycarbonate mold. I have never had a problem.
  17. Murray one reason why we all get good results yet use a variety of techniques is because of the humidity/regional issues. Thats why it is good to try diffrent things (even if not according to the manf.), just because of issues partial to our part of the world. :smiley2:
  18. Definately sounds like a ploy from other vendors to get peeps to buy their candles. I would just tell her to watch out for cheap glass rather than wicks. I suppose she could have been told the heat could catch the wick on fire, I think I even heard that here :rolleyes2 , but the wick will only catch from direct heat such as a flame. HTH
  19. I heat to about 180 add color and UV, cool it down to 160 add FO, then pour at 155 HTH
  20. Could be 2 things. Maybe you are pouring too cold, or into cold cups, OR you may be stirring too fast in the pour pot creating air bubble, hence the "pinhole" in the finished candle. HTH
