  1. Boy this needs to be a FLASHING STICKY!! Well said. I am glad you stuck with it for the right reasons, and respect the craft.
  2. I use straight j223 and get no soot whatsoever. Maybe it's your wick :undecided
  3. Thanks everyone for your opinions/suggestions!! I like the idea of a pillar burn. I have to test it and make sure I can get it. IF not glass it'll have to be. I have about a month!! Woo hoo!!
  4. Hi all! I am going to make some baby block votives in Jan. so I am getting ready for the testing and what not. I have a question, that, well is a matter of opinion so I want yours. When these things are burning, what type of holder would you burn them in? I want them to be seen, since they are so cute, but it seems like the glass would prevent that. Those of you that make them, do you make them to burn like a pillar, and leave a small shell? Thanks for the input.
  5. OH I absolutely LOVE them. Sucks that they are discontinuing them. MAybe we should call them LOL! They do produce a wonderful votive. Shiny smooth, and I especially love being able to see them without pulling them out. especially for layered votives. The only thing woth them is you have to keep some aside for dark colors, because they do stain. You could clean them but for me it was too much work. I bought mine about 4 years ago or so, and they held up fine!! I still use them. The only downside, was that they are too big for any type of boxes for packaging. I hope you can find them somewhere else!!
  6. I tripled my sales (at least) and still getting orders daily. I increased my clientel by no telling how much. I am proud of myself!! Been in biz for exactly 2 years now
  7. Why? Dont feel bad for someon elses screw up
  8. Kate I have not burned any of yours from this go round, but from past swaps, YOURS ROCK!! They may not be all fancy, but they sure smell great! I always enjoy yours. As for the 4794, I have used that wax for a long time now, and am totally loving it. I never really got around to trying much else other than candlewics Votive waxes, which were good, but I like 4794 alot better. I really think you'll like it too. It carries amazing cold throw and awesome hot throw in my experience!!
  9. Stunning!! Everything looks great!! I love your votives and your tins!!
  10. LOADS of reviews added today!! Be sure to check them out, and dont forget to leave reviews while your there~!!! Site is on my siggy below!!
  11. I would suggest the candlewic votive molds (the polycarbonate ones) but now I dont see them. I just measured one of my votives from these molds and the dimensions are correct. If they dont sell them anymore Ill sell ya some.
  12. You did an AWESOME job. Yours was my favorite this swap. I have not burned it though!!
  13. Im sorry girl! Would have been a better day if they had been there
  14. Sorry I have not tried that. But the captivatingly currant from JS was pretty nice. Maybe someone who has used both would be better able to compare.
  15. Kate you freaking Crack me up!! I reused your box since it was way cheaper since you are so close to me. How funny you thought I sent your votives back. What did you assume I thought they stunk or what?! Anyway glad you figured it out nutty. Dragon, I dont even want to know what your went through. Geez you live here in TX and you were like the last to get them. Sheez they prolly went to the North Pole and back. I hope they are burnable at least. Brat glad you got yours too!! LoL I thought you might like to re-read your paper or something
  16. OHHH GAWWD!! Serious? What people expressed negative experiences with them and it is berating? Hmmm I posted some of my negative experiences. I guess if CW did not want to get "berated" they should have some better phone peeps (this was a year or so back so hopefully they have done that). If I have a neg experience I will say it. Even if it is with Peaks (some have done that before), but luckily I have not had any bad experiences with them. If I have an overly positive experience same thing. I have to agree TLC partially. I think it is fine to ask for opinions on suppliers, but it is up to they buyer weather or not they will use them. I have had and heard some bad experiences with companies I use. Although I still choose to use them. If it is a company I have never used, and I hear a lot of negative things, well maybe I wont use them. Then again it also depends on the poster too. They opinion of peeps whom I know have been around the candle block a few times, well I am more likely to take due to the fact they know what they are doing. If a person who has like 15 posts goes and says something, I am not as likely to use their opinion. Like I said good reviews or bad it is a matter of opinion, and MAY not necessarily be the truth of it.
  17. Well I dont think there is any one place that has everything, but that depends on what your looking for. Think of what you want and ggogle it. Youll find tons of supplier links that way. So say you are looking for beads, well type in beads @ wholesale, and go from there. If you are wanting, raffia, do the same HTH--Tess
  18. Well I use the glass as a mold lol. I just call it a mold.
  19. There is some tape you can use. It is like metal tape or something. My uncle said it is silver. That should stop the leak. He is a welder so he welded mine, but it leaks a bit anyway. I just never got around to taping it.
  20. I am the flower pot votive queen buddy!! So if you are making true refills, use your normal votive wax, pour those suckers in the molds, cool, and pop out. This is much easier if you are using wick pins. Oh an do not fill to the brim, because then they wont fit in the container. HTh
  21. LOL I wanted to Geez I dont get it. I sent all but four of them Wed, afternoon, and the ones I sent thursday afternoon, (aside from moochelles) have been delivered. Top was one of the last 2 and he got his all the way in NY! I told this to the post office when I called today, and he didnt have anything to say about it. I dont get it. Brat is in LA, I sent hers BEFORE Tops, and and she STILL has not gotten it. One in WV, and then in TN. I swear I cannot wait till FedEx gets their flat rate boxes going. I hate USPS!!
