  1. thanks i will try that also i see some gel candles have a t-lite submerged flush with the surface is this done by pouring the gel to the hight of bottom of t-light then when cooled adding t-lite and topping up?? One last thing some firms only place about on inch of wick in the top of the gel whilst others wick from the bottom of the container is this because they are mainly decrotive and not ment to be burnt or is it because the inserts they use are flamable i.e dried plants
  2. i am thinking of making some gel candles and wondered if i can put wax embeds in the gel or will it have to be glass embeds???
  3. i am opening a local store so if i need to pay a bit more for good f/o then then i dont mind as for quantity thats hard to know at present as not sure how well the store will go
  4. i am looking for aprox 20 different scents to use in pillar and container candles i am looking for strong scented f/o can any one give me some ideas please
  5. thanks i will try doing that would you reccommend a 50-50 mix or more pillar wax than container wax as a starting point for me
  6. I use a container wax for my glass and tin candles and as a tester i used it to make a voltive candle and some wax melts and i found the finished product was a lot smoother and crisper looking than standard paraffin candle does any one know if there is a problem using the container wax for my melts i.e. saftey reasons etc the wax and details as below Candle Shack - PRO Container Wax 40°- 44°C This is a new creamy smooth container wax One fill paraffin container wax giving a smooth surface, excellent adhesion to glass, and a low melt point giving a full candle wax melt. Professional fragrance retention and scent throw
  7. Hi i have a mould to make 3D apples and it says you need to join the halves together after they have set and cooled what is the best way to do this is there a special glue i can use???
  8. ok i will try 1oz i hadnt done it as i thought that might be to much and the wax would leak the f/o out
  9. i have been melting my parrafin wax to 180 degrees but have just noticed the mp is 140 degrees for the wax would this explain why the scent throw is not very good i am putting in aprox half ounce scent per pound wax as a container candle
