  1. Those look so creamy-dreamy! Vanilla Bean Noel is one of my all time favorite vanilla fo's.
  2. It would be awfully labor-intensive, but wouldn't it look cool to have a label that wrapped partly around the window, say the bottom and right side. Probably more trouble than its worth, though.
  3. Maybe they were referring to all the fats as "oils" & were talking about butter, but there are papaya and mango seed oils. They're the fractionated oils that come out during the butter-making process. FNWL carries both: http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=oilmango&searchflag=1 http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=oilpapaya&affiliate=32964 HTH
  4. Don't forget about PaperMart - maybe not designed for soap, but they've got a butt-load of variety. http://www.papermart.com/index/index_retail_box_plastic.htm
  5. :spit: :laugh2: OMG - LMAO!!
  6. Golly, Angi, if you package them all in those pretty tins they certainly aren't plain! But you're right, it would add a certain sumpin- great idea. I'm thinking the success might depend on how elaborate the picture on the stamp is. If there are lots of fine lines, I could see a softer product getting glommed up in the stamp. Maybe freezing the bars first? Or putting a piece of plastic wrap over the bar first? One thing's for sure, it'll be easier to experiment than with soap - if a stamp messes up on a lotion bar you can just melt it and do it over again. Keep us posted!
  7. Ooo ... aargh . . . grrffzz . . .! Men . . . Watch him use that as an excuse not to clean ANYthing up from here on, too . . . He SO owes you chocolate! Oh, geez, one of them there weeks. :awww: I feel your pain, kiddo. Yay! At least you've been spared the indignity of dumpster diving after the missing 100 . Though sending DH out there sounds good . . .
  8. Very true! I find that's possibly the most difficult part of marketing - guilt-free recognition of one's own value. It's hard to look at it from an end-user's perspective when you know to a penny how little something might have cost to make. When I first began showing my jewelry to my friend /coworker a few years back, she insisted I set prices at no less than $15-$25 a piece. I thought she was crazy (some of those cost me less than a dollar in materials), but she pointed out that the time, idea & creativity are all a part of the product & need to be factored in. Sure enough, no one in the office blinked & bought like crazy- felt pretty good! Not just pity purchases either, when several ladies bought "for their mom for Xmas" but would be wearing it themselves later.
  9. My pleasure! That one comes in two lengths, and they also make it in a pyramid shape, too, which would be fun for layering. Not sure how you'd go about lining the dome - probably a single piece of foam would keep the curve well, and mylar & mineral oil for the pyramid. Do a search on Amazon in Kitchen & housewares for Ateco products and a whole bunch of nifty items come back.
  10. That looks like one of Ateco's covered rectangle molds Ateco 4916 Rectangular Mold w/ Cover / Round Bottom
  11. Geez louise ! And I once thought the Body Shop was high wanting $20 for 6oz body butter. I guess if customers feel a product is worthwhile, everything is relative. Then again, I'm a cheapskate. Well, in principle, lol - I first started tinkering with B&B partly because of that, but then I got addicted and I cringe to think how much I regularly spend on supplies. Talk about karmic retribution . . .:embarasse
  12. I'm glad you did! I've never seen a tart & have been curious . . .
  13. Way very cool - what a fantastic opportunity! It looks just gorgeous. Congratulations!!:highfive:
  14. Only your second try? Looking good! (heehee - "halfhearted" . . .)
  15. Oh, man, what a fantastic look! That pattern style looks just like the weave on a rug. If you felt like it, you could do a whole Southwest line with all the appropriate colors & flavors like sage, sweetgrass, cornflower, etc. You're such an artist.
  16. Looking good! I especially like the patch.
  17. Good googly-moogly! Those are soap? Fantastic!! :highfive:
  18. Has anyone ever used shea oil as opposed to shea butter? I can see wanting the liquid form for certain reasons, like in a lotion or body milk, but are there any differences in properties? I've noticed it tends to be more expensive. Just curious...
  19. I don't use any melted butters or anything for the rounds bombs, either, just a bit of almond oil, which probably makes them release more easily. I think the apple holders is a really cool notion. Hey, ya know, there's a whole mountain full of apple orchards near me. Hmmm . . .
