  1. Ooo, yummy. . . And I love your presentation, you've got a wonderful eye. The Sparkler color & layout is perfect - the tilt and calendula of the bars echoes the oval and gilt handles of the platter just right. Did you design the soap with that in mind, or was it a happy coincidence? (which came first, the plate or the soap) Well done, you!
  2. How frustrating - I want to work out a skin care soap or lotion with mainly babassu & kukui, and every single supplier I can find is out of stock on babassu. Did Brazil recently suffer a hurricane or political upheaval that I missed lately?
  3. For starters, take a look at these fizzy bomb recipes: http://www.teachsoap.com/bombs.html The second and third ones are closest to what I do, although I don't use borax or witch hazel. Here's a basic solid bubble bath formula: 1 cup baking soda 1 cup SLSa 1/3 cup cream of tartar 1/3 cup liquid - (such as glycerin, cocamide DEA, coco betaine, etc) colorant fragrance Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and add the fragrance a few drops at a time until the desired shade and scent are achieved. Mix the colorant & liquid and add it a little at a time until the mixture holds together in your hand - something like damp sand. Transfer to your mold(s) and press firmly. Unmold after a few hours and let them dry on waxed paper for a couple of days. Hope this works for you! j
  4. You know, what you could do is make mini solid bubble bath or fizzies in candy molds. Not exactly the transluscent oil beads, but still decorative and fun.
  5. Ooo, yas. Hands? Heck, try multiple washing in the shower. This one's for the face, this one's the overall bod, go back and do the upper again with this one, and for dessert . . . We all know where the phrase "Good clean fun" really comes from!
  6. Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated! Cheers, j
  7. lol - There's a difference? My credit card says no . . . j
  8. Hi Soapers, Most of the resources I've looked at have said the only difference between PKO and PKO flakes is the convenience of the flaked form, but that the properties are the same. Although the Summerbee lye calculator lists both types, neither MMS nor SoapCalc do, which implies any difference is negligible. Have any of you noticed a difference, or found any resources that discuss it? I do recall one supplier saying the flakes accelerated trace - and of course I can't remember where I saw it. I probably didn't bookmark it because they had no better prices or info than other sites. Maybe they just said there was a diff to justify offering the solid form. Anyway, just curious. Cheers, j
  9. Hey, all. I just started CP soaping about 3-4 months ago, and have already become obsessed. Seeing as I've been checking your board for a few weeks now, it was past time I registered & made it official. This is such a friendly & supportive group, I know I won't regret it! Stand by for all kinds of questions - fair warning! Cheers! j
