  1. I wasn't sure if I should start this thread for fear of not getting any replies. LOL. Has anyone done needle felting? I stumbled upon needle felted bears on etsy, did some research online and it seems like an interesting craft.
  2. Sorry to hear about your job. Keeping fingers crossed for you today!!
  3. E, Those are pretteeeeee! One of my favorite scents, too!
  4. Bruce, I guess it follows then that this can happen with glass as well? Although I know tins can get much hotter than glass.
  5. It wasn't me . Sorry someone beat you to it though.
  6. Ok, he tasted them both and no zap. I guess they're ok then. Thanks!
  7. Hey, I bet my son would be willing to do it!
  8. The soap that I feel is drying on the skin was made August 1st. The good batch was made two days later. I ran the recipe through soapcalc and MMS's lye calculator and lye amounts are ok. Maryann, other than touching the soap to my tongue (can't do this ) and using pH strips, how else can I tell if it's lye heavy?
  9. I used the same recipe but 2 different FO's for CP soap. Is it possible for one soap to be drying (skin feels tight after shower) and the other ok? Or am I imagining things?
  10. PA, your site is VERY pretty! I LOVE the colors!
  11. For this "Our candles are hand poured with a lovely blend of soy/palm wax and mixed with the finest of fragrances." and the other descriptions I would remove the quotation marks. Maybe also change "blend of soy/palm wax" to "blend of soy and palm waxes"?
  12. That is one cooool-looking scrub bar! You can hang that picture on your wall.
  13. Vicky, I hope this time never comes for me because I really enjoy this job.
  14. Geek, Your notes are under all that dust. Look on the bright side -- you have a week to test your ten scents and 5 jars. Good to see you back! Oh and... good luck.
  15. I agree -- you should include sample sizes to make them realize there are other interesting scents available.
  16. Haven't ordered from them but sorry you had problems.
  17. How about saponified oils of...? Labels are pretty but I agree -- maybe make your labels narrower to show more soap.
  18. The FO is Creme Brulee from FOH. I will work on posting reviews on SRB. The Peanut Butter Brownie Pie and the Apple Cobbler Delight smell heavenly though (for those who like food scents in soap, that is ).
  19. Thanks sudsnwicks and CB! This soap has been curing for a month. I checked the Scent Review Board and there's no review for this FO. Oh well, it's still soap.
  20. I know that in candlemaking, more FO doesn't necessarily translate to stronger scent throw. I made a batch of soap using 0.7 oz FO/ lb of oils and it isn't smelly enough for me. How much higher can I go? The soap has cured for a month so I'm done waiting for the scent to be resurrected. If this particular FO didn't smell as stong as I'd like with this recipe, is it safe to say it might do better with another recipe?
