  1. Looks great, love the soft green colour.
  2. I am a newbie to the soapmaking world also. The soapers on here are not only very creative, but also very helpful and willing to share their knowledge and I sincerely appreciate that.
  3. Thanks, now that makes sense, and makes me feel happy that I did not screw up. LOL I have not mastered the Lye Calculator and just input my figures and hoped for the best. :embarasse I think that will be my next experiment. Thank you all for your responses, that have been both encouraging and very helpful.
  4. I recently made a batch of salt bars, everything went fine and they are curing. Tested for zap and did get anything but a salt taste on my tongue that lasted awhile. I tried a small piece and got a beautiful lather and was quite pleased with myself. LOL The next day I washed my hands with the salt bar and again nice lather, I continued using the bar that day but I noticed later in the day that my hands were quite dry feeling and then the worrying started. Did I do something wrong or should salt bars only be used sparingly and NOT on a continuous basis? I have read where salt bars are NOT drying, but my skin sure felt dry. I did 28 oz. CO and 4 oz. Shea Butter, 10 oz. water, 5.4 oz. Lye, sea salt, RT in 180 F oven for 1.5 hours. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
  5. After doing a bit of research on Castile Soaps I noticed that Olive Oil (Pomace) or Olive Oil is generally used to make the soaps. Would I run into any problems if I were to use EVOO? Yes, I puchased 8 - 750 ml bottles of EVOO before asking the question. Would using EVOO change the lye/water ratio? I will be adding Castor Oil and Babassu Oil (as soon as I place my order and receive them) :rolleyes2 to the recipe. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Wow, what a variety of different items, where do you find the time? LOL Looks very nice and inviting.
  7. That is one well thoughtout display. Alot of different product in small area, but does not look crowded. Very professional looking. Hope you don't mind, although my husband will, I might just borrow a few of your ideas.
  8. Very pretty and I am sure that will feel silky in the shower.
  9. Display case looks great, and you can't beat the price. Your fiance is a KEEPER.
  10. I am amazed at the colour change. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I just love the colour. I purchased Tumeric and was wondering what colour it would come out, now I know. Funny, I thought it would have been yellow. Great swirl job.
  12. Very creative, thank you for sharing.
  13. Very nice swirl. I love the scent of lemons, so refreshing.
  14. Very, very nice. Is this done CP? I really hate sounding like a newbie, but that's what I am. LOL
  15. They both look soooo nice and smooth. Thank you for sharing.
  16. Wonderful display of soaps. Thank you for sharing.
  17. Congratulations, your soap looks great. I am still reading and getting my supplies together (building up nerve is more like it). LOL
  18. I have only been gathering information about Cold Press soapmaking, but am confused about Essential Oil and Fragrance Oil in recipes and hope that someone can straighten me out. I was under the impression that EO are a pure form of the extract and thus strong, and that FO are man-made and somewhat diluted, but in some of the recipes it calls for the same amount of EO or FO to be used. Any insight would be gratefully appreciated as it really doesn't take to much to confuse me. LOL Thanks.
