  1. For those of you who fill votive containers with wax which wax do you use 1. A votive wax or a container wax? Does it really matter which wax you use? I was just wondering If you could use a votive wax in those small cup. I was thinking of tring it and see how it would work.
  2. I make all of the above. I started off with melts Then I went to votives and tealights Now I am working on candles. I have my items in a craft shop right now and I am tring different items to see what is going to sell good for me.
  3. Well shoot I am all out of vybar. I guess I will have to order some and try it out for myself. Ahhhhhhhhhh the quest continues for the strongest and longest burning melts:cheesy2:
  4. Yes please keep us posted on how your testing goes
  5. I use the clear tealight cups from candle science and have never had a problem with them catching fire. And I have made hundreds of them. I never did like the metal ones they bend so easy and look ugly to me.
  6. Yup Faithful that stinks when they don't have what you want or need LOL
  7. I am waiting for a whole bunch of wax, wicks and scents. Ican't wait to start playing when they get here. If they get here. I hate waiting. I wish there was a candle supplier here by me so I could just go and pick them up LOL
  8. Thanks When I did a second burn on my votive the mushrooming was gone. I am now working on my third burn I will see what happens. If I still get it I will try a different wick. Ahhhhh testing it never ends LOL
  9. Ok I just got my new wicks. I use ecosoya PB and an LX14 One ounce of FP per pound for a standard 2oz votive. I lit it and it burned for a little over an hour. I noticed the wick had a shroon on it What could of caused this? I was thinking that maybe I diden't cut the wick short enough. Some help here please. Thanks
  10. Thanks moonshine Yup I agree that they do take time and the PB sure is expensive LOL
  11. I was wondering what everyone charges for a single standard size votive.
  12. Yup your right I tried it both ways one without topping off and one with They look so much nicer topped off. I to use the 15 hour flaired top molds. Topping off is a little bit of a pain for me cause I only make one or two of one scent. But to me it is worth the extra work.
  13. I have begun making votives again using EcoSoya PB wax and LX 14 wicks. My question is To those of you that use this wax do you allways do a second pour or do you just do one pour?
  14. I am looking for a good chocolate scent. One that will work well with my EcoSoya PB wax. I have tried a few and they just don't hit the mark for me.
  15. I don't worrie about my tarts popping out of the warmer Even thought they do. I tell my customers to just pop it in the freezer If it sticks. Never had a complaint. I would never want my tarts to be like scentsy's the scent don't last very long. Mine out burn theres every time
  16. Thanks for the complment. I know the lady that owns the shop says she loves my tarts. She told me she has two dogs and a cat and when she burns my tarts she can't smell any pet smell in the house. But she said when she burns scentsy tarts she can't even smell then. Maybe I should advertise them as a way of getting rid of bad pet smells in a house LOL
  17. Hummm maybe the rep in our area is just selling them that high
  18. I have a space at a shop in my town were I sell my tarts and warmer oils and room sprays. Well it seems my tarts are flying off the rack lately. The lady that runs the shop told me that scentsy has raised there prices to 7.95 for there tarts. Has anyone else noticed this? I was just wondering how true it was, If they did well thats great for me
  19. I just love walmart tarts. Cause all my customers tell me how much better mine are than theres. I got a gift set of tarts and a warmer from walmart as a gift I threw the tarts away they had no smell. But I kept the warmer LOL
  20. First off there are many waxes you can use. I only use EcoSoya PB. It is my favorite wax. I would just read and read in the wickless section and you will learm much. But you will want to do your own testing to see what wax you like the best. There are tons of suppliers I would start with peaks they have some nice kits you can buy. I also like Candle Science, Just Scent and Natures Garden just to name a few. Have fun with it while your learning.
  21. # 1 for me in clamshells was Reindeer Poo and Snowman Balls It seemed that this year they were buying all the odd scents
  22. I use any wicks coated or not. It doesn't really matter They burn fine either way.
  23. I use the one from the dollar store. I have never had a problem with it not burning right.
