  1. Quote: SHIPPING NOTE: Our Bulk bases are poured into a box that fits perfectly in a large flat rate box. This means that shipping for one 25 pound block of M&P base is just $12.95 plus insurance to any US address. Just put a note in the comment box of the shopping cart to request this option! Was this continued? Couldn't find it on their website.
  2. I've read about this velveeta box. I don't think I've ever seen one. Is it wood, cardboard, plastic? Anyone have a pic of it? Someone said they're great for molds.
  3. Meridith great soapies. Good idea on the tubes. Wondering do you normally fill up the tube at one session or over days or weeks?
  4. Jcandleattic, I forgot about that one. I had seen the thread awhile back. Gots to find me someone to do one for me. If not, I'll have to order the one Meridith recommended. Meridith, I may have to order that one & see for myself. Thanks for your help.
  5. Meridith, what I meant is there's nothing to help with holding the soap at the correct angle (degree?) to get all four bevels the same. KWIM?
  6. Thanks Meridith for that link. Looks like the beveling is done without any guides similar to the one from KB. I just can't get the hang of getting all the sides exactly the same when beveling freehand like that. BarbaraAL, I have one of those. That's what I've been doing until I learn to bevel correctly.
  7. I like it too. Unfortunately there's Bubbles Baubles & Such and Baubles & Bubbles out there
  8. I love beveled soap but I bought the one from Kangeroo Blue and can't get the bevels right. There's no guide on the darn thing. Am I doing something wrong? Then I got the one from For Crafts Sake and it scratches the tops & bottoms when you slide it. I tried the potato peeler but I totally suck. Anyone knows of a better beveler? Anyone tried the one from TOG?
  9. Wow! Those are fabulous looking.
  10. Never heard of this scent. What does it smell like. Soaps look very creamy.
  11. Congrats on your 1st. Very pretty, I love purple.
  12. CBE, I also do B&B but for myself only. Won't be selling any of that any time soon. I've been concentrating on soaps. I may want to sell my earrings sometime in the future. You guys are great. Keep those coming pleeeeease!
  13. Good ideas but if I decide to buy the domain name, those are too long. Semblance.com is already taken. Maybe use a different biz name. I have no ideas. I'm just not good with names.
  14. I sold some bars of cp & mp at work and I don't have all the legal stuff in place yet. I know, I know, register biz name, get insurance. Bad girl. :tiptoe: Before I can put all my ducks in row, I need help with a company name. A co-worker suggested Semblance Soaps. She thought its cute since sometimes my soaps don't look like soaps. I love it but it limits me to soaps and I may want to do other stuff too. Since ya'll have some super creative minds, I thought someone might have some ideas.
  15. They look great for your first time. Are they soap? mp or cp? I've done the mp ones and found that the frosting is easier to do with that metal decorator pro found at some suppliers sites.
  16. I'm assuming you mean palm kernal and not peach kernal? If so the substitutes for palm kernal are coconut and babassu. These 3 oils are the "cleansing" oils. They can be used interchangeably but you must always recalculate your lye. Hope that helped.
  17. Thank you everyone. Merrid, glad to help. My family & friends all loved their gifts. Now I have to start thinking what I'm gonna do for next year. santa big
  18. Sure but I scooped them out and put into a separate jar with more boiling water. After the chunks diluted, I added some back and some I saved to use for my foamer bottles. I didn't want to add all of it back cause I didn't want my gel to be too runny. It does take a bit of time but I ended up with no chunks and all of it usable.
  19. Carrie, funny you should mention about the green. That was an accident. My FO changed my blue to green
  20. Thank you everyone for your kind compliments. I usually don't post pictures very often, but I worked really hard getting these ready for Christmas and wanted to know what others thought about them. Trappeur, the cupcake is not a mold. I did the cups first and then followed these instructions on the frosting using FBB from BB since that's the only place I can purchase a small amount. I did partial recipe since the amount stated on the video is too much frosting for my needs. I did a ratio of 1:1 plus glycerin. I was able to frost the cups without using anything for "glue". The frosting stayed on. Its just not as hard as I thought it would be. Link for video on frosting: http://www.goplanetearth.com/project_soap_frosting.html WendyByTheBay, yes the LS is from scratch. I followed soapfreak's instructions posted on the Dish. It was easier than I thought it would be. It does take a bit more time than bar soap.
  21. Here goes. I'm so awful at taking pictures so bear with me. Liquid soap following Soapfreak's fabulous instructions. Mp cupcakes using fbb mixed with mp for frosting. The frosting didn't dry as hard as I would have liked. A few goodies for the kiddies.
