  1. Your palms look great! Congrats!! :highfive: Nobody believes you, Donita. Er.... Candle Queen .... Just playing w/ you, D. I know how much you dislike working w/ the palm wax. It is a beotch to wick ... so I hear, I don't bother wicking mine.
  2. Looks great, & w/ slightly darker pix, they should show up better when lit from w/n. Congrats on 1st one!!! :highfive:
  3. The image looks a little hazy ... did you use some kind of filter to "soften" the edges or maybe there's some kind of smear on the lens, esp on the lower right side of the pix? I'm noticing some white circles on your candles. Were they intentional? I like your presentation, & the yellow plate is a nice splash of color.
  4. Your candles look wonderful, but I think they would look better if the caps were filled w/ something, jmo, though. Here's a website everyone will find VERY useful for conversions ... I have it saved in my favorites. As you will see, you can convert just about anything. http://www.onlineconversion.com/
  5. I like this one a WHOLE lot more than the 1st one. Very cool!!!! ... not that the 1st sucked or anything negative .... something about the tilted layers makes it more unique.
  6. I like the ideas behind the 1st & last ones. I wonder if pouring the overpour cooler will help decrease the liklihood of the red color bleeding into your white areas, or maybe using a higher mp wax for the embeds. Looking forward to seeing the candles you make that you LOVE .... I think you're on a good track!
  7. Those are very pretty. Nice touch color coordinating them.
  8. How did you make the box & lid? Ahhhhhhhhhhh, when you put it that way, a wax box is an EXCELLENT idea.
  9. Thanks for adding the 2 new pix. Looks really cool lit up.
  10. Hey Donita, it's about time you posted pix of these as I've been dying all week long to see 'em! I bet they smell great .... I just LOVE the smell of bw! Re: the saturn balls .... I've been looking at them considering using them ... were they just a PITA w/ the bw or other waxes as well? Isn't bw kind of a pain anyway? Kinda ... "sticky" in gen'l?
  11. Could just be the way the light reflects off it at an angle. As long as it isn't in the actual candle .... I'm totally diggin' how your marbles are coming out. If I could get mine to look more like that I'd make marbles all day long. Whatever you're doing, you have a GREAT technique! However, what's going on w/ the bottoms (esp w/ the green on the right)?
  12. Hi Queen Donita! What made you decide to overdip these w/ bw? The primary wax is the high mp stuff, right? What's the advantage of using bw instead of your primary wax? Since you are using bw, does the orb have a slight honey smell or does that go away when they "bleach" it? I'm not going to tell you how beautiful your orbs are. I figure if you've heard it once you've heard it a million times!
  13. That's a type of fingernailing, really? I love the unusual & unexpected look. I'd like to know if you get that appearance again when you try it on purpose.
  14. I don't know that the colors are all that odd for med fig. I finally tried a sample of that FO. Although I like it, I can't really place it (like you can when you smell rose or sage & lemongrass, for examples); so, those colors are GREAT w/ that FO! The design of your marbles is very interesting - puts me in mind of tiger stripes. MEOW!
  15. Wonderful colors ... which one is seafoam green & which one is kelly green?
  16. I'm parital to the the left & middle one. Not crazy about the one on the right side, hard to say what is not exaclty pleasing ... I mean, the bow is a nice touch, but ... I dunno, maybe it's the gold color of the bow or the patterning of the flowers or green things ... just a vague thing that makes me like the other two better. Regardless, great job on ALL. :awww:
  17. Wow, what gorgeous subtle layers; you've used "bleeding" to your advantage. Very nice, indeed!
  18. What a cute & clever idea! Me likes it a lot! :highfive: Ya, it MAY be simple, but you personalized it, which makes it special.
  19. Love the colors & design of your pillar.
  20. Diggin' that color ... puts me in mind of Bosenberry! Very nice mottle, & I really love that rich color!
  21. Are you in the CO region? Looks like Thunder to me! Go Broncos! Looks wonderful. What kind of paint would you recommend that can be used on a candle meant to be burned? I'd be inclined to underwick so that I'll have a shell, but that won't work on this type of molded candle, I was thinking of something w/ a symmetrical shape.
  22. I'll say! What/how did you do that & how long did it take? I can't even begin to guess what you did ... looks like several techniques rolled into one! You're so funny! lol.
  23. Very cute teddy bear; I see why you like it so much. The balloon 'canes are coming along. Very interesting designs on the bottom two ... I know they're flowers, but they also have a slightly abstract look to them ... maybe it's just the effect w/ small'ish pix. I've been itching to do 'canes but Peaks has been out of the high mp wax for awhile, & appears to still be out, which is just as well as I no longer have money. I'll have to live vicariously thru you, ok?
  24. I can easily believe you had multiple colors in there. I particularly like the one on the left as it looks like a stunning sunset in the nth dimension. The one on the right looks like a mtn scene w/ some deer or a horse, something similar, in the middle section eating.
