  1. Oh wow, pretty! Looks more interesting than the conventional milk bath too.
  2. Just makes you want to nuzzle his nose! He's adorable!
  3. Oh wow! They look really good, almost like pieces of jade, though I'm not sure if that's an effect of my monitor.
  4. Adjust the percentage of Lipidthix The more lipidthix, the firmer the butters. Not sure how hard the butters actually become, I've yet to test it. Maybe one of the others could let you know.
  5. Did you manage to get them borders done, Jennie?
  6. If I'm not wrong, it'll have to be a suspending base. I remember researching the ingredient that makes the base suspend, but I can't remember which forum it was on. Either this or the Soap Dish. Let me see.
  7. That's right, I forgot to ask if they were for lips or deos...
  8. Ooh, you could make your own butters with LipidThix/VegeThix. They're the same thing really, hydrogenated vegetable oil. Just melt them with oil of choice and tada! Butter. E.g. 15% lipidthix + 85% avocado oil = avocado butter. Jojoba butter, avocado butter, macadamia butter, rice bran butter, apricot kernel butter... Lipidthix is what it's called at lotioncrafter.com and I think vegethix is over at the Herbarie.
  9. Woot! Congratulations! Soapies look great, love the cow one!
  10. Found some oval twist-ups here in natural and white... http://lipbalmtubes.com/Lip-Balm-Tubes-c-1.html
  11. I know what you mean I'm probably going with shea butter for lotions and... still deciding between pomegranate, smother me in chocolate and sugared raspberries for flavor oils, though it'll probably come down to chocolate vs. raspberries since pomegranate has a lower flash point.
  12. Oh! Meant to give the url for the Soaper's Workshop lip balm kits, but forgot to do so earlier. http://www.soapersworkshop.com/store/index.php?cPath=22_31&osCsid=71c35d21f68cf8c2408a4a76041c4c30
  13. Generally, yes. Supply spots usually have a basic base for you to customize as you like for resale. You can add additives, colorants, mica, flavor oils, then decide on your own packaging and labeling and sell. Luci mentioned the Soaper's Workshop bases... they have a lip balm kit with 16oz of lip balm base, enough flavor oil for the whole thing, 5 pipettes and 100 lip balm tubes. The prices range from $29.70 to $33.30. I think that's a great place to start
  14. I make a simple facial mask from cocoa powder, pastel pink clay, goat's milk powder. You can substitute for some other type of clay or milk powder or even ground herbs. Smells like chocolate, the customers love it. Chocolate lip balm and cocoa butter lotion bars! Mmm... There's the bath melts here too that use cocoa butter. The thread's pretty long. I think it's called Bunny's Bath Melts or something. Yummy
  15. We get menthol crystals here real cheap at the pharmacies. They tend to buy in bulk, repackage and sell. Hmmm... I'm thinking of ordering some from the SFIC co-op and trying this out with MP
  16. Really? Once I was organizing a valentine's surprise and I wanted rose petals for the bed and bathtub. What I did was just go to a florist and ask for fresh rose petals. They'll usually give me a generous handful (1-2 cups) for a ringgit or so (30 cents?). Found this place... $16 per gallon if you're not picky about the colors, though I'm not sure if that comes out as cheaper. (http://www.freshroses.com/petals.html)
  17. Are the surfaces of the bottles really clean? Could wipe them down with some alcohol to make sure there's no oil or anything.
  18. I'll be selling at slightly over $3, but then I have to include shipping fees
  19. When I was young, my mother used to massage coconut oil into my scalp and hair shafts after shampooing and I had really thick, healthy, lustrous hair. Of course, as I grew older, this practice ceased and I discovered commercial shampoo and conditioner, which left my hair in an abominable state. Recently though, I've discovered Chagrin Valley Craft soaps and 'poo bars (http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandcraft.com) which in conjunction with herbal vinegar rinses have left my hair soft and shiny again! Might be a little too harsh for your granddaughter though, so I recommend just going with coconut oil (or monoi). It's tough to wash off though, so unless it's a daily treatment, don't use too much, but work it in well. You could also mix it with some jojoba. Some others have had good results with shea butter - whipped shea would be easier to apply than solid shea.
  20. Pretty! I like the Razzberry one best, but Scented LLM and Mulberry/Summer Citrus both tie at a close second! They all look yummy to me.
  21. :laugh2:This thread's got me smiling for more than one reason. Gotta love them (us?) kids!
