I was looking on the Candle Soylutions Website..at their Fragrance oils..Some say they are soy based, some say synthatic..What does this mean? and what is the difference? Are all FO this way and just not mentioned?

you know it is frustrating to buy a oil that is supposed to throw well in soy,, you buy it and find that it hardly has any smell at all when you start burning..i have bought where it says it throws awsome in soy..and still hardly any smell....maybe it is just the soy they test in..i guess a person needs to ask what type and brand of soy did you test in before buying...

It is a beautiful smell..it just has to be in a small room..i have a 16oz. bottle..i might just try adding it with something else...any suggestions:confused: ??

Just wanted to update about the repour and adding the coconut oil.. I have tested the ELM with the coconut oil added with pink sugar today..I think that is has a little better hot throw..I had it in my bedroom which is about a 15 x 15 and you could smell it...not real strong, but at least enough that you know you have a candle burning...I did move it into my living room area which has high ceilings and is a much larger area, and could not really smell it. So I think that this FO is just a light scent,, I will test the other one that is made with the GB 415 and coconut oil added later today.. My conclusion is that the coconut oil is expensive enough that, if a FO does not throw well in my soy wax rather than add the coco..it will just not buy that scent again...

I just knowticed that ICS has free 1 oz. samples with each order over a certain amount..the more you buy the more free samples.. These are only for ICS FO's not SnowTops.. What are some must haves for 100% soy? I have tried Citrus Cooler..it is wonderful. I wish I had 50 scents that smell up my house like this one..

also i forgot to add the ELM is non-colored too.

just to report on my candles, that i repoured....the ELM with the pink sugar has a pretty good size wet spot..the 415 with pink sugar looks great no frost, but it is non-colored..but it looks prefect..i repoured and added the coconut 6-21-07,,and I think i will wait at least 2 more days before testing..

if you are in washington state..there is candlesoyloutions, in oregon..they have several different types of wax.

that is it...do they have scales that give that amount?..maybe i need to get a better scale

When you calculate the amount of FO to put with your soy wax, my calulator will say to 4oz. soy = .40 of FO at 10 % ...but my scale only has like 1/8..3/8..and so on..how do I know what .40 is compared to the fraction?

ah-soy..do you have a mold for the round bombs? i have been thinking of making these for my grandchildren..i bought some once at the basin,,and i didn't get to use them much..the grandkids did..lol..where do you find information about making them..

I have not used any of their oils.. What are some must haves, knock your socks off Hot throws... in soy...

I am a newbie compared to alot of others here..but I have tested about every wick available, my first pick is the CD wicks, 2nd. choice is HTP. But mostly use the CD wicks.. Just test, test, test, all of a sudden it will start to come together...

DOES ANYONE HAVE KNOWLEGE OR HAVE USED THEIR BEESWAX..THEY HAVE DIFFERENT COLORS FROM LIGHT CREAM TO A DARKER ALMOST TAN COLOR..I WAS JUST WONDERING ABOUT TO USE OF IT ADDING TO SOY..ON HOW IT COLORS, OR IF IT IS PRETTY JUST NATURAL COLORED? i KNOWTICED ON THEIR WEB SITE THEY ARE CLEARANCING OUT ALL THE SOY CANDLES, BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO A CANDLE MADE WITH SOY AND BEESWAX..

i just wanted to report about the remelt and repour i did last night....after i had remelted, added coconut oil and stirred. i thought these are just testers i am going to go ahead and pour hot..it was about 150-155 degrees...this morning, the ELM is baby bottom smooth and shiney..the 414 has on area, about 1/4 of the top has a little cellulite..but it is otherwise smooth and shiney also.. i don't know if the remelt had anything to do with the smooth tops..chime in if you have any input...

i keep mine in the frig..like i read on this forum to do...and it is really hard..you have to get a knife and chisle it..tonight i ran hot water over the jar just a little to soften it up just a little..that way it was a bit easier...

i was a little shy of 1lb. when i melted so i put about 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil..so we will see...i'm keeping my fingers crossed..

well i'll tell you what i have done....i made 4 candles useing pink sugar..and ELM and GB 415..one set of candles I used ICS Pink Sugar in ELM & GB 415.. the other set i used Flickers Pink Sugar in ELM & GB 415..I had cured them for 6 days..I test burned them today..while in my small small bathroom you could smell them, but if you put them in a large room i don't know if you would even know I had a candle burning... ...so i am melting them down,,i am going to add coconut oil and see if i can tell any difference...i will keep the two different brands of soy seperate.. and retest..i will let you know in a few days my luck...

i have been following this post too...i would like to do something to get a better throw..has anyone made one and let it set for a long time to see if it goes rancid? i would hate to sell or even give one away, and a few months down the road i find out it stinks..lol .. it is really disheartening to make a candle and you almost have to burn the hair in your nose to smell it:laugh2: ( just a saying i have heard)

i sure am glad i am not the only crazy person here why do we punish ourselves so? I to use 4" jars..i bought every wick size that i could find..none of them worked single..I finally choose the cd wicks..it depends on the FO but I use from 8's to 12...doubled...i have only had one FO leave black soot in my melt pool..and that was peach ambrosia..and it has been discontinued..but i don't want to toot my horn to loud,,mine all may start sooting tomorrow.. oh my what a crazy candle world..
