  1. You can also get the clean cut at Bitter Creek North and I beleve they are about $6.00..I have had mine for quite awhile and they work great..I like the extra thickness on the bottom too..it makes a perfect cut wick..
  2. Her web site is...latherworks@verizon.net She sells all type of things, bath products, candles,...and also FO oils..
  3. If it is as good as Pink Sugar..I will definitly like it..Will Give it a try..Did you try it in soy?
  4. Has anyone tried their oils..They have a good write up..and their prices are very resonable..Good prices only if they are good..
  5. Thanks candlebuddy...I want to get mine ordered..I think Sunday is the last day for the pre-buy..I just wanted to be sure,,as it seems vanillas can be hard to get a good hot throw..
  6. Has anyone used this oil in Golden Brands wax 415? Just wondering about the hot throw..Is this a sweet spicy smell??
  7. How long did you let it cure? Sometimes you have to let certain FO's cure for a week or two...and sometimes even longer.. I made a candle with pink sugar, tested in about 7 days..it did not have very much throw..I just thought it was another one that wouldn't work in soy..about 1 month later I came across it again, lighted it, and it had came to life..and I just love it....HTH
  8. where did you read about their sale?? I was wanting to try them too, but can't find anything about sale??
  9. I currantly buy my Jars from Fairway Glass..I can get a Dozen with lids from $ 14.40 to 16.68 depending on size.. All are 4" in diameter, just different heights..that price is without shipping..I live in Calif..do any of you have another place that I might check out? These are really nice jars, but the shipping is high..
  10. I had to tell someone..I just ordered 2 sample packs of FO's from Peaks. By all the raving about their oils, I thought I would take the plunge.. Now I can't wait to get them..I use Golden Brands 415..Hope I have some good ones. When I get them tested I will post the results.. If they are good.
  11. LOL:shocked2: When I read this post it dawned on me what one of my FO's smell like It is Flickers..Exotic Amazon Teakwood..it smells really earthy..and I have been trying to put my finger on the smell..Try it in a sampler it might be just what you are looking for..
  12. Vanilla Bliss..Snowtop now ICS..Throws well in my GB 415..
  13. thanks for all the advice..I promise I will not get rid of a sampler because it does not smell gooooood to me... But I will say there is a certain smell I have smelled when I open a bottle that must be used in lots of oils that I just do not like..and when I make the candle I can still smell it:( Any way back to the sampler box..lol:grin2:
  14. I am new and still learning...To you that have been making candles for a while..Do you find that..you can sniff out of the bottle and tell if you are going to like this oil in wax? Or if it is going to be strong or weak when it is in wax?.. Or do you find that some oils come alive once they are in wax?..Just wondering..I am finding myself doing that, if it does not smell good to me out of the bottle..I don't use it.. I just don't want to pass something up that maybe really good.. What do you all think??
  15. I'm feeling pretty good right now.. My worst candle never looked like that :highfive:
  16. I had emailed Aroma Heaven about their pearlizing powder and they said that it works good in soy..I have not tried it yet but it sounds like it would be pretty..
  17. Have any of you candlemakers found that if you change the brand or type of wick, that it can cause your candle to have a better hot throw? ..I go thru so many different samples, trying to get a good hot throw..and sometimes even though they are supposed to do well in soy, they don't..So I was wondering if I just change the wick type if that would help..I am testing FlowerBomb right now from Flickers, it has a wonderful cold throw but hardley any hot throw in Gb 415 or GB 464..I am using CD wicks. If any of you have ever tested different type wicks let me know what your opinions are.. I may have to buy some samplers of Different brands of wicks and give the idea a try..:embarasse
  18. I like the Mediterranean Garden spa..in my GB415...It has a good hot and cold throw..I have not tried the others..But another of Flickers that has a good strong hot throw is Summer Garden..It is a different scent,,I think it would be one that you either love it or hate it..but I just love it..and it smells up my whole house..
  19. I am not finding the gooey caramel..Is that from Candle Cocoon? What percentages did you mix? It sounds delicious..LOL I love cutting up a apple and pouring caramel all over it...
  20. LOL just that name makes it sound good.. and I like the smell of rum..I have never ordered from peaks..any others that you would suggest that are super strong in 415..
  21. I am looking for a strong throw eggnog for the holidays..I use GB 415 soy.. I like some sweetness to it..Does anyone have a suggestion...
  22. When I first started making candles I thought I would give it a try..:lipsrseal It was just a waste of oil... weeping on the top..I would wipe it off..and turn around an there it was again..
  23. I just recieved my sample,,from Flickers...I have not poured it yet, but just smelling from the bottle it is a lovely scent..
  24. I have bought CD wicks from 2 different suppliers..and they are not the same..One is sturdy and one is flimsy..the one batch that I bought that were flimsy, I would say 1 out of 5 would pull out of the wick pin..I had to go thru all of them and crimp them..So when you find the ones you really like stay with them..just my 2cents worth..
  25. I like the second one too..Very cute and pretty...
