  1. Yes a comparison chart with all the wicks would be great. I could never make one because I don't know eough about the other wicks. I have only used HTP, cotton and I'm now testing with the CD's.
  2. I asked the same question once on a message board and someone posted the following chart: HTP..........CD 31............4 41............5 52............6 62............7 73............8 83........... 10 93............12 104..........14 105..........16 126..........18 1212........20 1313........22
  3. You can order on-line from Cozy Home Craft Supplies. Here is the link: http://www.cozyhomecraftsupplies.com/tubs.html
  4. Just wanted to let you know that the link at the bottom of your post on the message board is not working. It says the page cannot be displayed.
  5. Very nice. Is it a rose bush or individual roses? I purchased some individual roses about six months ago to try. Guess after seeing yours I'll try my hand at it.
  6. If you go over to the KY message board and do a search you will find that question was asked a few times with answers. Someone said to start with HTP83. HTH.
  7. I use a 50/50 blend of KY125 and KY115 and thinking of changing from cotton wicks and trying CD wicks. Here are my questions: 1. When everyone refers to CD wicks are they the same as what Alabaster Candle Supply sells? Their description says Stabilo (CD) corless wicks that are non-directional, flat braided with a special paper filament woven around it. 2. In my notes I have that a CD 12 is equivalent to a HTP 93 and 51 cotton and that the CD14 is equivalent to a HTP 104 and 60 cotton. Does this sound correct? Thank you.
  8. We have a lady here at work that has this metal mesh shelf on her desk that she purchased at a Staples office supply store. They are kind of pricey but I like them. Here is the web link: http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?ts=1141064144176&storeId=10001&productId=89530&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&cmArea=SEARCH
  9. Here is a site to search for fesivals. Even though the web address says southern, you can search for all states: http://www.southernfestivals.com/index.html
  10. Not sure how I had the double post on this. I had to stop in the middle of it so I went to finish my note and it wasn't there so I went back to see if I already posted it. I didn't see anything so typed it again. Now the first post is there. Sorry for posting twice.
  11. I would love to be involved and have someone test my candles for me. Please add my name to the list. Looking forward to receiving the information.
  12. I currently use the 16 oz. apothecary with flat lid but have had a couple close friends/family suggest that I use a different style of jar to be different. Can't make my mind up on which jar I want so I'm taking a poll. I use soy/cottonseed wax. Don't really know if I want to start testing all over again. Which do you like the best? The vase jar cost more but holds less so the actual cost is approx. .75 cents less. Thank you. 16 oz. apothecary 14 oz. vase
  13. Is it necessary to prime flat braid wicking? Reason I'm asking is in the directions to the left under basic instructions it doesn't tell you to do so (unless I am overlooking it). It says: TIP: If it is difficult to get the wick through the hole because it is frayed, try dipping the end in some molten wax and rolling it through your fingers to form a nice pointed end. I have read on here how to prime the wick by dipping it until the bubbles stop then taking something to flatten the wicking out. Guess I'm just curious if anyone does like the directions to the left. Does the wick need to be primed to light it or will it burn okay if not primed? Thank you for any help.
  14. Here is a link to Bitter Creek North for their aroma beads: http://www.candlesupply.com/how2aromabeads.html
  15. I use that wax but not that jar so I can't help you. Have you posted your question over on KY's message board? You might get more responses over there since it is their wax. Good luck.
  16. If you had that on a shelf in a store for sale, I would purchase it. Looks nice.
  17. I made some tarts using KY para-soy votive/tart wax which I think is a 50/50 wax and poured in the heart ice trays from Target. This is the first time I have used this wax and they feel kind of sticky to where I'm thinking if I put them in bags and as they are handled the bag will start to look smudged. Any suggestions on what type of packaging to use so that they stay looking nice? Thanks.
  18. I want to make a candle that looks like icing drizzling down not grubbie looking. Would I make my pillar and save some of the same wax and just drizzle it over the top and let it run down the sides? At what temp should the wax be that I would drizzle it with? If this is not how it is done, would someone tell me how to do it? TIA.
  19. When I first started selling candles I used home address on everything but changed that real fast after two guys came to the house one day wanting to purchasing more candles instead of calling. I still use the home address for deliveres but getting a po box real soon.
  20. I keep getting page cannot be displayed as well.
  21. Here are some sites I have book marked for embeds: http://www.tropicalbreezecandles.net/ http://www.candlesbathandpotpourri.com/store/ http://www.synascents.com/Synascentsmenupage.htm I have purchased from the first two but can’t remember if I purchased anything from the third one.
  22. I don't ship big orders but have looked into the molded pulp packaging. This might be a consideration. I have the following links saved: http://www.jegmoldedpulp.com/contact.shtml http://www.juddpaper.com/MoldedCandlePack.htm http://www.henry-molded.com/prod_offtheshelf.htm Good luck.
