  1. Just thought I'd throw this out to anyone who might be interested, but his new scent called Autumn Evening has IDENTICAL components to that of Twilight Woods. I happen to be a BBW junkie so I recognized the combo of scents right away. So that's one I won't be ordering since I already have it from Peaks. Compare the scent description from BBW with his -- they're identical ;-)
  2. I tested the Maple Sugar in parasoy tart wax -- it doesn't smell like sweet vermont maple syrup. It smells like a dark maple/brown sugar combo. I love it!!! Very good throw....
  3. I've always done a 1:1 ration of FO and DPG with no problems -- it shouldn't weaken the scent at all, so either A) you added too much DPG or you're getting used to the scent?
  4. She will DEFINITELY be missed, but I sorta saw this one coming...
  5. Peak's Grandma's Swingin' Eggnog ROCKS!! You can even smell the hint of rum in it....to die for! I use parasoy tart wax too
  6. Here's a link to his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/OnlyFragrancenet/185770418141941?ref=ts
  7. I have had some REALLY good luck with many of these oils! Thought I'd continue to share my findings.... For you CP soapers out there, thought you should know that Purple Sage & Mint soaps beautifully!!! Both sage and mint really come through.... I have to agree with the poster above about Butterscotch Bread Pudding -- it is Wow!! Amazing throw! Vanilla Caramel Cream -- VERY light OOB; not sure if I'm going to keep this and try it or not Soda Pop - about to put this in wax this evening; OOB it smells like a citrus soda....reminiscent of a fizzy pop type smell. Strong OOB. Red Velvet Cake - not really sure what a real one smells like but this one is very nice in wax! The Gingerbread Cookie - WOW (and that's all you need to know) Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake -- amazing! You can smell both chocolate and raspberry equally while burning (tarts) I told Luis I was not able to put the Oriental Spice in wax for the simple "urine smell" OOB that it put off -- he said he was actually working on tweaking it I think I've covered all the new ones I've poured....hope this helps someone!
  8. If it's anything like the other fireside/campire/smoke FO's, you'll need to wick up (or at least I had to with Campfire from TCS)-- I know you were looking for "scent changes", but just thought I'd throw that in there for good measure
  9. Hi Jo...and welcome! I was actually have SERIOUS withdrawals while the site was down. CT is my go-to website every day!!
  10. We use Mexican Vanilla from Southwest (formerly JBN) -- it's that creamy, non-bakery vanilla. Some say it's a twin to CS Very Vanilla that Trappeur mentioned above. I actually have both of them and they are very close, but to me, the VV is slightly sweeter than MV.
  11. I've tried Candy Corn from NG, TCS, and Bert's -- none of them smell like candy corn so I gave up on that scent! Caramel Apple from TCS is good but not strong enough. I've recently been playing around with the one from JS -- I'm actually impressed. You can smell both scents equally.
  12. You're quite welcome Hope it works out!
  13. A light carrier oil such as sweet almond oil, olive oil, sunflower, etc -- these are far less greasy than mineral oil and may work out better. I'm just thinking mineral oil will leave the beads greasy? Maybe not, but I guess you could try the mineral and then one of the others I mentioned above and see what works better for you.
  14. A blank photo should do the trick -- if you have no image, chances are, you have no smell ;-)
  15. The strawberry cheesecake HAS to be cured for a minimum of three days IMO -- before that, I agree, it was a super yucky sweet strawberry. After three days, the cheesecake part bloomed and it was total yumminess! It is a sweet scent, but it should be...it's a dessert ;-) As far as the Oriental Spice, Lorelei, sorry -- I just don't have the stomach for putting it into wax!
  16. I have to ask the obvious question: WHY would you have 'parts' of an ornie that is unscented? You'd be able to smell the other parts that are scented so I'm not really understanding that reasoning...unless you meant that you're making a whole batch of unscented ornies....now that would make sense ;-) But to answer your question, any light carrier oil should do the trick (as long as your colorants are oil-based) To EricofAZ: ornies = http://www.candlesupply.com/how2aromaornies.html
  17. I only used that oil to make tarts (parasoy wax) but it did fine -- never tried it in my parasoy container wax. The only fragrances I've gotten the "yellow" spots from have been those with heavy chocolate in them (mint chocolate was the absolute worst one!) You may want to pop in and ask Vickey over at KY....
  18. Just wanted to pop in and assure you that it wasn't a bad bottle -- I bought it in March of this year...
  19. Okay, results on 24 hours of cure time in parasoy tart wax: Butt Naked - STRONG cherry top note with lingering notes of vanilla and something else sweet I can't pinpoint...VERY GOOD THROW Birch & Fern Forest - VERY clean, fresh, and green -- smell lots of greenery and not much woodsy. If you like bamboo-type scents, then you'll enjoy this one. EXCELLENT THROW Champagne Snow Showers - REALLY comes to life in the wax -- I smell all sorts of scents, but can't really pinpoint anything specific. It is very clean and fresh, but I don't know that snow showers are what come to mind when I smell this. I'm reminded of clean cotton, but only the clean part and not the cotton (if that makes sense) -- it's definitely not a laundry scent, but has that WOW factor when you smell it. EXCELLENT THROW
  20. Something about Midnight Coconut is intriguing...hmmm.... Thanks for the suggestions!!
  21. I just put them in wax about an hour ago -- I'll post results tomorrow on what I think. These went into my parasoy tart wax in case that matters to anyone
  22. So I ordered this scent thinking it would be a straight-up bakery fragrance -- this is the most unique smelling coconut fragrance I have ever smelled. You can smell a light bakery tint to it, but it has a somewhat perfume base smell to it. It's absolutely gorgeous!! Naturally I need to rename this scent as Philosophy tends to send out their police to shut your product down for copyright violations (not sure if they could on a discontinued fragrance??) Any suggestions??
  23. LOL that's what we're here for I use a soy blend too! I want to place another order, but I got get some more of the samples put into wax before I go buying the big bottles....there's a few that are iffy OOB but think I may like in wax (Champagne Snow Showers and Birch & Fern)
  24. I put the following scents into wax -- two days later, ALL five are nice and strong and much more complex than what I smelled OOB: Butterscotch Bread Pudding Carrot Cake Lemon Buttercream Icing Maple Sugar Strawberry Cheesecake
  25. Okay, got my oils in and poured a few today. Here's my thoughts on the ones I poured: Butterscotch Bread Pudding -- smells like a true butterscotch, not candy....not really sure what bread pudding should smell like, but I think I like this one regardless Carrot Cake w/ Icing -- very spicy but not sure I detect the icing...still smells good (for carrot cake, which I personally don't care for) Lemon Buttercream Icing -- I smell lemon and I smell sweet but not sure I smell the title (if that makes sense) Maple Sugar -- most maples have a sweetness to them....this one smells like a dark syrup (I detect a slight burnt smell or something). Hubby thinks it's great... Strawberry Cheesecake -- I don't detect the cheesecake just yet, but the strawberry part is pretty nice Okay, and I got samples of these...have only sniffed OOB: Cinnamon Bread Pudding - nice Champagne Snow Showers - very odd smell...not sure if I like this one yet; will have to put in wax Butt Naked - STRONG cherry scent to me...didn't care for this one Amber White - LOVE! Too light for tarts, but would be great in B&B Birch & Fern Forest - don't care for...a very bitter smell OOB Birthday Cake - not bad at all, but I've had better Cedar - very weak (Bert's Redwood & Cedar is way better) Fried Ice Cream - not sure what this is supposed to smell like but it's a nice scent Maple Hazelnut Crunch Bar - I can smell both maple and hazelnut -- very nice scent! Oriental Spice - smells like urine OOB...ewwww! Patchouli - nope Pink Cotton Candy - not safe for candles....good thing cuz it's way too light! Still wanna put some more into wax to see if it changes it for the better.....
