  1. Oops you are right. The case is sitting right beside me and with my trifocals I could have sworn it said 4784. Course I was also reading it upside down. IT is definitely 4794 and I am driving with these glasses. Time for a checkup. Thanks for proofreading for me. I need all the help I can get.
  2. I guess it won't help since I am using IGI4784 from BitterCreek South and it looks like they no longer have it. I have a good supply but will be trying sometihing new or finding a new supplier eventually.
  3. I have 6006 and it is a soft container wax. I tried it in portion cups like a supplier showed to do on their website. Would not come out of the cups without freezing. So I ordered some much harder wax from BCS and I mix it and it works well. I did not try the 6006 in my clamshells since it didn't work in my portion cups. There is a whole thread on the subject here http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?100101-Has-anyone-tried-straight-IGI6006-or-444-for-tarts
  4. There are many people that do not frequent the dollar store so would have no idea that is where they came from either. Sad though.
  5. I have some and I only bought the ones he said were soap safe.
  6. I use the natural malibus for lotions but I offer 2 oz, 4 oz, 6 oz and 8oz in the boston round with a pump. All sizes sell well for me except the 8 oz pump. I only do those for the Holiday Season and they sell well for Christmas. I make a few things that I use the blue jars for. I personally did not like the amber so ended up with blue. 2 and 4 oz
  7. I agree. I do one large expensive show that is held in three buildings. The third building always has the newest vendors. There is one that has been there for many years and requests it because people tell her they start at the 3rd building to shop the new stuff. This show is also gradually becoming more and more resell though. Sad since the promoters don't get around the show enough to be able to listen to customer comments.
  8. I use them for CP soap and have had good results. Even the lightest scent (Purple Sage and Mint) has sold well for me.
  9. Come to think of it, I have never seen a Scentsy booth that had a warmer on with a melt in it. Wonder if that is a Scentsy thing or a craft show thing? I know I have been at shows where there were candles burning as long as the booth had a fire extinguisher. Guess that policy would vary. Course they can smell my soap in my booth.
  10. This I heard yesterday too. Except the man was saying fruit wax and I had to ask him to explain since I could not figure out what he meant. I couldn't figure out how they were making wax for melsts out of fruit. The same wax they spray on fruit. Oh. Isn't that paraffin? Anyway, interesting sales pitches from Scentsy. My show was down but then instead of 2 soapmakers, we had four so had to share the wealth so all things considered I guess I did OK. I do melts in portion cups and those sales were slow but I sold several warmers which is no big deal since I only keep them to show off the melts.
  11. I use 4794 mixed with 6006 since I have a big supply of the 6006. Works well. Was trying to find a way to use up the 6006 and it makes nice tarts blended 25% up to 50% with 2794.
  12. I also watched the Candle Science video using 6006 for tarts but it did not work for me. Shoot , the wax in the box is soft. Maybe I have an older version of 6006 and the new is hard. Who knows but I don't think melting and adding FO would make it hard enough to pop out of a clamshell. My clamshell tarts were just as soft as the original wax until I froze it. Then they popped right out.
  13. Another option is to go to each Chamber of Commerce website for the towns in your area and look at their events listed. That is how I found my best shows several years ago and I am still attending them. Not all are great but the ones sponsored by community organizations have mostly been good for me.
  14. Don't know how she does it because it did.not.work for me. TOO SOFT. So I ordered some tart wax and am mixing 75/25 to use up the cases of 6006 I have just sitting. Now that IS working well.
  15. I like the arrangement and everything else BUT the starkness of so much white may be a little much for customers like me. I see a nice green in the banner. Maybe even if you wore a green shirt to be a pop of color. I really like the risers and the L shape. That is the same shape I use for outside shows although I have another small narrow table on the other side. Indoor shows I have found people want to shop from the front of the booth but are more inclined to walk inside when it is an outdoor show. That is my area, of course. Your clientele may be entirely different. Congratulations on getting the first show behind you. Any show is good practuce starting out. You can cull shows as you get more into the show circuit.
  16. Car air fresheners in any shape form or fashion was a flop in my area so I dropped that line. In other areas they seem to sell well. You just never know.
  17. I soaped Purple Sage and Mint about a month ago and it has a fragrance. Almost out of stock too. I used 1oz per PPO which is normal for me. I make goat milk soap if that makes any difference. I also have English ivy morning soaped and it has a fragrance also. I have a very poor sense of smell but customers pick it up and sniff and then buy it. Sorry that others are having difficulties. I made The sugar cookie into melts and they are very strong and I used palm wax. They are several weeks old and have not faded.
  18. I believe my business is successful. I work fulltime but started soap and lotions five years ago so that when I retired I would have a little business established. It is too established already and I have 1 1/2 years left before I can retire. It took off faster than I expected and it does a good job for what it was intended. It supports my dairy goats. I make goat milk soaps and lotions and the original purpose was for the dairy herd to be self supporting because they can be an expensive hobby. Now when I retire I will not have to worry about not being able to afford to keep my goats. So I have reached my business goal already and I can only imagine how much more I can do when I can devote more time to the business. And I will never be successful according to noname since I will be receiving a retirement check each month for my 34 years in public education.Oh well, I feel successful and that is all that matters.
  19. I have a FO that is Lavender Eucalyptus and it is very nice in CP soap. Of course I got it from Mr. Missy and he is no longer in business.
  20. I already thought that was the way it was. I was late once last year and paid a $50 penalty. So Susan Combs owes me $50?
  21. I received my Scentsationals warmers today. Huge box with a smaller box inside with bubble wrap stuffed all round. I have enough bubble wrap for the rest of my life but the warmers are all in good shape. I like that the individual warmer boxes have one side and half the top as a cut out so you can see the warmer without taking the whole thing out of the box. I did not open one but they seem a little smaller than the candlewarmer ones. I have other projects today so I just looked and set the box in the corner.
  22. They come in 3 packs for $28.50. Not a lot of selections but I think they look nice. The night light type are 3 packs for $19.50. I ordered 15 warmers and the shipping was $19. So even though they are a little bit higher than candlewarmers the shipping makes them about even. Plus they seem to take normal replacement bulbs.
  23. Who knows how long any business is going to be around. And it doesn't even matter because most suppliers are discontinuing products all the time. The company may still be in business but the FO is no longer there. I have bought from onlyfragrance and all of the oils have worked great in CP soap. That is all I need to know.
