  1. Millcreeks cinnamon vanilla is the best I have found in years. It is super strong in soy too. You will not be dissapointed. While you are there try their sweet orange and chli pepper. Also a top seller. Gain is right on it. Not like NG;s, it smells just like the soap. these are the ones I love from them.
  2. I make it out of eucalyptus. It is strong and works. I put a cute picture on the front with a great big nose. Sold everyone of them this weekend in Canton.
  3. Wow that is great. I can't believe you didn't have to eat it. Ya know. I didn't have that much problem. I had no complaints. So I guess I missed the bad stuff. I did notice it looked different for awhile though. Harder to cut, color off. maybe just in my candle head full of fumes.
  4. Why is it, that everyone makes jokes on here and we all laugh and have fun with it. But when I try to make a funny everyone takes me serious. I know I am older, so maybe I am just not funny anymore. I would never say anything to hurt anyone. I just want to have fun like others do. Forgive me for being an old lady.
  5. Hey Mike, I was just playing. I didn't see the amount you used. So I added it for fun. So sorry. I thought everyone would know that I was playing. It is hard to read what a person ins thinking. Anyway, so sorry. If I can do anything to correct it, let me know. I am not a creep, really.
  6. Your are right. They need a good pumpkin. But I have mixed and mixed and I just can't get one. Maybe I ought to cram some real pumpkin pie in the darn candle. And yes I have smelled some good ones out there. I think before I started making my own candles. But I can't remember where I smelled them. If you see this crafter again. Ask her where she got it. If she doesn't tell you, string her up by the neck, and tell her YOU WILL TELL ME, CANDLE LADY. :angry2: I hate it when they won't share. I understand why, but what goes around, comes around. I just got to have a true pumpkin.
  7. I have been testing vanilla's for years. I think BCS has the best. It is strong and smells most like true vanilla. NGs vanilla extract smells nothing like vanilla. Most vanilla beans are really light. I was glad to find this oil. I don't buy much from them, but this one is a keeper. Also Starrville, now Bauer's Candle has a Mexican Vanilla that is good. Other then that, I have never found a strong vanilla anywhere.
  8. You don't want to cut your 9oz. It will be your best seller. I sell 1.5oz, 4oz. 8oz. 16oz.26oz. Out of these 75% are 8oz. They are perfect for the craft shows.
  9. I mixed my own snowberries with mulberry and peppermint. Smells so good.
  10. Every cranberry chutney that I have tried is straight cranberry, and very strong.
  11. I am tired of buying all of these pumpkin scents that don't smell like a true pumpkin pie. I have added all the ingredients (in oils of course) to make the pumpkin smell and it just doesn't smell like one. The only thing I didn't add was ginger. Maybe that is it. I added cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, sweet milk, vanilla. It was awesome, and now a very good seller, but it didn't smell like the pie. Last year I ate 3 pies, trying to match the taste. When and if I figure it out, I think I will patent it. I know I have tried 20 companies and have never found a true pumpkin pie scent. Ok, I had to vent. thank you:D
  12. You can get sugar cookie from IFT. http://www.iftfragrances.com/ It is around 4.00 a lb. Minimum 10lbs. Same sugar cookie that NG's and many others carry. They make it and sell it to the little companies.
  13. I accidentally dropped the orange bottle in the orange spice mixture. It made it a very deep pretty orange. But it had a smell like an ashtray. I took them off the shelf, and people ask about them. Some can smell it, some can't. So yeah, some of it has a funny smell.
  14. If I had just moved, I would have to go find a really neat jar or crock to match my new house and maybe pour a layered candle of all my favorite scents. Just for my new house. I am surprised you haven't done that yet. You can't have a new house without a new candle. Just ain't right. I love to go to Wal mart and get those big square cookie jars. I fill them with 6 different type cookie smells and make a big label with the picture of the family I am giving it to on the front. They are a real hit. It makes a wonderful Christmas present and saves me a lot of money and time. Maybe you could do that for some Christmas presents this year. That might get you going. They always ask for another one too.
  15. Don't you know that you have tied died candles now? Maybe they will think they are something cool. I have had people ask me if the faded ones were a new thing. Cool hugh. They usually buy them anyway. But to look nice remelt them. No problem. Just melt slow so the scent stays.
  16. No,no, you are not painting, you are talking to us. Had to sneak away a minute, hugh? Well I am getting ready for 4 top shows. Yeah..... I am sooooo ready. I am trying to invent some new scents. I get tired of pouring the same old ones. The problem is, I have so many now, I can't remember what I have made. I am already pouring Christmas. I have been selling fall since July. My customers are already asking for Christmas. Happens ever year. I am in Texas and it is 94 outside. Why they want Christmas, I am not sure. I guess they turn down the air condioner and play like it is cold. So what is in my pot? Lots of cinnamon smells. The store smells so good.
  17. You can also use water softner pellets at $4.00 for 50.00. Lowes has it. It really soaks up the oils and makes them strong.
  18. Depends on where you ship it from. As long as I ship inside my state, it is around 14.00 case. But if I ship it from 5 states away it is 40.00 shipping. The best thing to do is find a local supplier and pick it up.
  19. I use NGs and I can't keep this scent. It sells well. And is strong.
  20. My point is, there are several grades of parriffin. The kind that they use for candles is not the kind that comes out of the ground where the oilfield is. NOT! You can not turn that stuff white. No way. They make wax parriffin lips for kids to chew on. That parriffin is not dangerous, or they would not do that. Just because parriffin puts off some black soot, does not mean that it is dangerous. Paper towel does the same thing, and it is made from a tree. And if you knew the chemicals used to make the soy bean into wax, you would freak. Not so pure. I am just tired of all this mess about them waxes. And tired of all these craft shows I attend, watching candlemakers telling all of this stuff. Most of them don't know what they are talking about. Then the customer runs down to our booth and says, so and so said that your candles are not safe. Or her candles are much better than yours. Here I am sending the other candlemaker customers, like if I don't have a scent they need, or they want 100% soy, etc. I try to help them out. Why can't we all work this way. Ok, I am off on a rage. It is my Birthday, and I deserve to be able to grip a bit. Ya know. Ok, I am done.
  21. Well I got tired of all this non sense, and I decided that I would eat the parrifin wax and see what happens. If it makes me sick, then it MAY be bad to burn. If it doesn't make me sick, than I think it would be safe to burn. So I started on my first slab. Not bad if you put sugar on it. No problem so far. Then I made a stew out of the 2nd slab, and it was delicious. Added some wax beans to it. Great stuff. You know this wax stuff is not bad. Since then I have started thinking about opening a restaurant, using parrifin wax to make all of my recipes. I could call it The Waxed Bean! To heck with making candles, I am on a roll here.
  22. That is what I do. I cut the wax up. I can't lift much either. Works for me.
