  1. Demenshia, I read that older thread too, great read! Thank you! So last night after I read it, I completed my list, even put down vermeculite, and prepared everything I needed for today to drive the 90 miles to get this stuff. I even planned on stopping at Cierra Candles to see if I could pick up some other things I want for other projects. We lost our power at 11:30 pm. I woke up this morning and the news says it's snowing where I wanted to drive to! *UGH* Usually the snow wouldn't stop me, but the last time I drove in snow I was involved in a head on collision. Sooo....all these plans will have to wait til I'm off work again, next week. Unless the snow is gone tomorrow. erinmfritz...did you try the food coloring? I'll try it when I can get out of town. I thought winter was over!
  2. Blackballed? I am creatively challenged. Anything I make usually turns out ugly but I give myself credit for trying. The flour recipe had all the ingredients of things I already had in my cupboard. It sounded easy, so I tried it. I just dipped my first teddy bear and posted that as well. It wasn't as pretty as the others have listed, but I tried it. I have 38 more to try out, and I'm hoping each one looks nicer than the last. Next I'll try the salt rock, but not the pellets after reading the suggested thread. After that I'll try something else. And then something else after that. I'm learning, I'm fascinated by all the things the pros are doing on this site. They give me inspiration to try things. Everybody here makes "prettier" things than I do, but I'm learning. Boy, I sure said "try" a lot. *lol* But that's what I'm doing. I'm trying. It's all about the learning process for me.
  3. Cool! Thanks! Glad I accidently bought the bigger freezer bags the other day. *lol*
  4. See? Didn't think of that either! *lol* Thank you!!
  5. If it is still mushy, sprinkle some more flour into it, a little at a time, and see if that helps.
  6. Make sure the water is boiling is all I can think of.
  7. This recipe?? 1/2 cup plain flour 1/2 cup salt 1/4 tsp EO 2/3 cup boiling water food coloring
  8. Heated? *lol* Come on, give me yet ANOTHER thing to try and make! *lol* I didn't go out of town today to shop like I thought I was going to, but I am for sure tomorrow, so I'm still making my list. Thinking about taking my pick up now. *lol*
  9. That was great help! Now I know what to look for when it IS bad. I had no clue of that either. Thank you!!
  10. I have been given a bag of powdered goats milk and want to try it in some milk baths. I have a huge bag of it now! How long will it last in the bag before I use it? And once I make it, isn't it only good for about a month? And besides milk baths and soaps, is there anything else I can put this in? I'm not ready for soap yet.:embarasse Thanks!
  11. Thanks! I'll be leaving later on today. And THIS time...the list is going WITH me. *lol*
  12. I'll probably go back today and return it. When I went shopping yesterday, I had worked 12 hours, came home to change, drove 90 miles and forgot my list! I KNEW I'd get the wrong thing. *lol* Thank you for posting that picture! And it was Home Depot where I got it, not Lowes. Lowes is always so much better for me anyways, but I was able to get everything else I wanted right across the street from Home Depot. I was too tired to try to remember how to get to a Lowes at that point. And still had another 90 mile drive home and then a birthday party for a 6 year old. So yeah, maybe today will be better. I'm going to go read that thread, finish my list and get the right stuff this time! Thank you again Demenshia!!
  13. I went to Home Depot yesterday and all I could find was a bag of Mortons water softner. I left the bag at my sons house, so I have to go get it. It was 40 lbs, just under $5.00. It was the pellets, they felt kind of small in the bag. I haven't opened it yet, but I'll leave in a while to go get the bag and try it out. I think I might have gotten the wrong kind.
  14. justcountry I was in walmart...I know....I always say never again...but I found those gift bags you would use for a gift basket. I put it in one of those and tied some raffia around the top of it. It looked cute. You can also blow dry these bags to shrink to fit if you want. But I was afraid to, I was afraid it would stick to the wax. *lol* What a mess that would be! But you could probably blow dry the top to seal it for protection? Someone else on here would know better than I do on what else to use. candlesprite7 Yeah, it waas pretty funny when she said that, especially since I'm only in my 40's! *lol*
  15. Thank you! My grand daughter loved her. *lol* I over heard her telling one of her party guests..."My grandma made me this bear, it's the olden days kind, it's real, but it can't talk."
  16. Yeah I know, I messed up my first dipped bear. The one leg doesn't exactly touch the plate. I know better for next time. I'll also pose the arms and tilt the head too. Oh yeah, and I'll give them necks for jewelry accessories. *lol* It was a blast too! I kept screaming every time I dunked her...Nooooooooooo!!!!! I have 38 more to dip and today bought a lot of different accessories. I'm on my way to my grand daughters 6th birthday party, I'm giving this to her. She will think it's beautiful. *lol* I of course will know better. I scented her in Harvest....it actually smells really good. Anyways, I dunked a bear!!
  17. Yeah Demenshia...you....ROCK!! (pun intended *lol*) Did you guys notice how many have viewed this?
  18. Rebecca, I've added all this info from this thread to my "notebook". I have to go out of town to shop this coming week, so I will be picking up all this stuff! I can't wait! Thank you very much for all this info, this is really awesome! cocopop The directions are on page 2 as well. Try it, it's fun! *L* Especially for me since I am sooo creatively challenged.
  19. I think you're right...even having to drive 90 miles one way to get it would still save me. And you know...while I'm ALREADY out of town in the "big" city of reno....I might as well do other shopping. Thank you!!!
  20. Those are adorable!! Maybe after the salts I'll get brave and try some??
  21. I am going to look sooo stupid asking this....but is this fabric dye?
