  2. Geez....I could only hope to be able to create something that nice someday! Those are so pretty, I want one! Suzy
  3. All I can say is WOW! Such talent! ~~hugs~~ Suzy
  4. debscent....I just poured the Pumpkin Cornbread, I couldn't wait!!! lol I think it's my new favorite scent:D . I love all the scents I just received and can't wait to try them all! Fast, wonderful service! Suzy
  5. Glo....I have to tell you that I was totally impressed with your service! Just received my Backwoods order yesterday and started playing already! Your version of PINK smells wonderful OOB, can't wait to try it in my wax. Right now I'm pouring Pumkin Cornbread....mmmmmmm good!!! And of course, I have to comment on the handwritten thank you. I'm in a different business myself, and love to hand write a thank you expressing my appreciation for my customer choosing me as a business. I was impressed by that with you, as well! Thanks again, Suzy (Sonya)
  6. Leester.... You sound like a blogging pro. Do you have a blog floating around somewhere that we should be reading....say, something else beside candlemaking maybe? How about a blog about your trips and adventures cave hunting in Arizona? I'll show you my blog, if you show me yours. hehehehe Wishing you the best while making your first candle! Suzy
  7. Jamers, I'm trying to compare this wax with the C3 wax. I'm trying so hard to let it cure like we're supposed to, but when I read Stella's posts about two day curing, I get impatient wanting to test for scent throw! Ughh!! Stella....where are you? Any suggestions?? I've been doing a 10% FO load. I wonder if cutting back would help? Like the less is more route? Cuz all I know is that I'm not getting a good throw at all with the percentage I'm using. How about you? What percentage are you using? ~~hugs~~ Suzy
  8. Well I'm testing the same wick...CSN 14 in a 3" tumbler (12oz) and it's working pretty well so far. I'm not getting a great scent throw either, though. I'm wondering what I did wrong with the scent??? I used Candle Science Cinnamon Bun FO at 10%. (sometimes I tend to think more is better, but I'm trying to learn the lesson that less CAN be more...lol) My flame is a little 'bouncy' and doing a dance a little bit, but the glass jar isn't hot to the touch. Just my findings at this point. Suzy
  9. Thanks for the heads up on the wicking with CSN14. Guess I'll start over with the LX as well. And your right, maybe by Christmas we'll be able to help some of those needing help with the Palm Wax. At least I'm hoping I'll be able to contribute, like you! Thanks again, Suzy, Chicago Burbs
  10. Thanks so much for such a quick answer, CH! Everyone has been so helpful on this Palm stuff, as well as everything else. I'm going to check that link right now! Hugs~~ Suzy P.S. As far as cleaning these puppies, yep this wax is a pain to clean up. I did the usual for my jars...put them in a skillet with two inches of water. Waited forever for them to melt down, then wiped out. Added lots of Murphy's Oil Soap and hot water and let them soak a bit. Wasn't too bad after that. (I find Murphy's works for soooo many things! )
  11. I have these CSN wicks but don't understand how to determine which way the curl will go. Is there an easy way to figure this out? I always end up putting it in the container the wrong direction and then have a lopsided burn. I know I should have called for more information, but didn't get to it yet. Any suggestions? Thanks, Suzy
  12. Hmmm....so there's no way to get stop the tunneling? I melted my wax to 200, added fo right away into the presto, and poured into a heated pyrex after stirring only a short time. I did cool mine on a rack, that I covered with a styrofoam cooler, to slow the cooling time down. I'm wondering now about the tunneling. Grrr....wish there was a way around this? I supposed I'll just keep testing, cuz they're just so pretty! Suzy
  13. Kimberly, I finally got a scent throw too! (and I didn't let it 'cure' for a week, either, only two days!) I'm so excited that I could just about.....well, I'm not sure what I could do, but dang I'm excited! It's the same wax that your using...and after all the waxes I've tried, this is a first for me! Woo Hoo! Suzy
  14. I'm just starting to test my second palm container. The first test I did in the same container (8oz tumbler), the wax tunneled really bad, so I'm going to make some more with bigger wicks. I used 6% FO, with the Violet Lime scent from Candle Science. The scent was pretty good...wish the tunneling wasn't there tho. It sure was pretty! lol Is there a way to melt these down and redo the wick?? (or is that a really stupid question????) Anyone else care to share? Thanks! Suzy
  15. I must say I've googled myself silly too! So, at least your not alone! lol Suzy
  16. Thanks for the info, Carol! I'm sooooo excited that I can fix the tops....cuz the sides of the container's sure are perdy! Suzy
  17. So we should be hittin' up Top to do the deed? I don't think we could pay Top enough money though....there's just too much info crammed into that brain! Nice idea, though! Suzy
  18. I poured my first palm containers today....in an 8ounce tumbler. My problem is that the top of the first one cooled with a huge bubble in it. I stuck a toothpick in it to get it out, but now the top looks funny. Are we able to touch the tops up with a heat gun like the other waxes? lololol Should I be covering these as they cool? I know they are supposed to cool slowly...and believe me, I have the temperature in this room around 80 degree's, so I'm ROASTING!! Can't wait to see how they burn, though, as the sides of the containers sure look nice! Suzy
  19. Wow...lucky you to have a 20 X 40 shop! I have a 20 X 20 family room I suppose I could convert to a candle shop, but then hubby would probably kick me out since he has to have his big screen TV. lol However, I still would love that shop size! Thanks for the tips, too! Suzy
  20. Thanks so much Marilyn for your answer! I really appreciate it....and I guess I'll get these puppies out of the cool sun room and into the house! hehe! Suzy
  21. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that has helped me in this venture. You've all be so wonderful and giving of advice. What a blessing to me! I recently made some container candles and was wondering where I should store them....in warm temps or cool temps? In the house, or in the garage? Does storage temp make a difference in curing and scent throw? Thanks so much for suggestions! Suzy, Chicago Burbs
  22. Thanks so much for the encouragement to 'cure' everyone! I'm sure it's just like fine wine or even food for that matter....some things just need to 'marinate' a bit. I've never been known for my pateince...lol. And now I'm wondering about that C3 wax!! Should I compare....should't I? Here I go again!! Thanks, Suzy
  23. lol....I am skeptical about the whole curing process too! I wanted to test these puppies to see how the wicks I chose would work....and of course I told myself that I didn't 'need' to smell it. But wouldn't cha know...I soooo wanted to smell it. lol I'll trust ya on this one....and let 'em cure. But it's soooo hard!!!!! Suzy
  24. Thanks for the response from both of you! I guess I wasn't prepared for this look....lol. Now if I can just get a scent throw, then I'll be really happy! Islandgirl....have you tested yet for scent throw? Mine smells good when it's cold and I walk by it....it's like it sends off a whiff of good stuff. But then when lit, I'm just not getting anywhere yet. Maybe we could help each other out? Thanks, Suzy
  25. Hi everyone, I've followed everyone's suggestions for my 8oz tumblers with my 444 wax. I melted at a higher temp, and added FO as well as poured at a higher temp. Yesterday I wanted to test one to see how the wicking process was going. The picture below is after one 4 hour burn yesterday, and then another 3 hour burn today. Doesn't it look a bit yucky as it cooled afterwards? Can someone tell me what could the problem be and how I can fix this 'after burn' appearance? I keep comparing mine to the gal that makes the wonderful soy candles that I burn, and her's look so smooth after burning and then cooling. Any suggestions? I used 444 wax, 10 FO and an ECO wick. Oh, one more thing....how do I place the ECO's so that they burn in the exact center instead of off to the side? Do the red marks go one way or the other? Any suggestions would be so much appreciated! Thanks a bunch! Suzy PS....I hope I attached this the right way! lol
