Thanks for the replies. I'm headed to the craft store today, so I'll look for that Modge Podge, and also in the scrapbooking section for that other glue. I need to get this done so that I can wrap these two candle holders pronto! Have an awesome day!

Okay, I have a tall container that I need to cover with a scenery picture (made of a very brittle paper with glitter on the top). I'm wondering what the best choice of a glue would be to get this picture to stick to the candle container. What kind can withstand the heat, and also dry in a way so that as the candle is burning, a person wouldn't see where the glue has been applied? Any ideas out there? ALSO, as long as I'm asking my "glue" question.....is there a special glue & glitter combination that I should use to touch up the picture that I'll glue on the container? Are these things that I can get at a Michael's craft store? Or, is it more complicated than that? Thanks for any suggestions!

CWave-I have checked in the crafts section in WalMart, and was unable to find anything that size. R.S.-I actually have already tested this size, and it worked just fine. I'm not making a bunch of candles this size....this is just a one time thing. I used one of those long lighters, and it worked great for lighting that size of a container. As far as the size of the flame towards the end of the candle, it still burned just fine. TxSioux-Thanks for doing that footwork for me. I did go to that website, but the size wasn't quite right. I need the container to be 9-1/8" high, as it will have something wrapped around it, and that's the only size that will work. realmarcha-Thanks for looking into this. I still need to check out this website. I appreciate it, though. kandlekrazy-Thanks for the information. As I told TxSioux, the container does need to be 9-1/8" tall. The person that I'm doing it for wanted a cinnamon scent, so that is what I tested, and it burned good. Violetsexoticcandles-I was wondering about the wick thing myself in the beginning. I ended up getting some raw wick from Peaks. I tested and found that the 60-44-18-Z (Zinc core) worked good for this size of candle, with the GW444 soy wax, with the cinnamon FO, and without the container getting too hot as it burned further down. There....I hope my answers were clear. Basically, I had a little mishap.....I was all done testing the candle container, was getting ready to clean it out for the "real" pour, and in the meantime it got broken. This is exactly about what I did! It was a matching set of candle containers that I've spent hours online trying to find another set just like it....to no avail. The only "upside" is that these containers have a scene wrapped around them, that I think I could take the wrap off the broken one and put it on a new container. I know you're probably wondering, "Why all of the trouble?" Well,...these containers belong to somebody else. The other part of that is....they were handed down to them from their Grandmother! All I can say is that there has been a lot of stress involved! Thanks for all of your help!!

I've looked and looked, and am having a hard time finding a glass candle container that is 9-1/8" tall with a 2-3/4" diameter. Anyone have some great ideas of where I could find this odd sized container? Thanks for any ideas!

It's a refill that someone asked me to do for them. They're Christmas containers that are 9" high with a 2.5" diameter. Can I find a wick out there that's long enough, or would I have to buy a bundle of it and cut off the piece? I'm using GB 444 soy wax. She asked for a cinnamon scent without any color. What would the best route be for getting wicks for two of these containers? Any suggestions for what kind of wick? ....I did post this question in the vegetable wax candle making board, but I'm still waiting for some replies, so I thought I'd get it posted in both places. Hopefully, someone out there can give me a tidbit of help. Thanks!!

Jami, it will be fun to hear how your testers turn out. You'll have to keep us posted. I've also been noticing a little bit of speckling on the bottom of my jars, when I pick them up and look under them for inspection. I use the regular dye chips. I've been loving the colors I've been getting, but I was wondering about adding the dye chips at a little hotter temperature. I may try that and see if it helps. Tereasa, have you been happy with your HT and CT at 8% and with the LX wick? Also, have you had even burning candles? I assumed so, by your first response......but I was just wondering about the details! Thanks for such helpful info.!!

Yeeaahh!! It's fun to hear success stories! I've been testing in 3.25" diam. jars, with 9% FO, C-85 wicks from Peaks.......I'm getting good hot throw, just some pretty good mushrooming going on. I've been trimming those wicks...just to see if that helps. Still mushrooms.....but do I continue on with them, since they're throwing the scent well? Thereasa, are you getting mushrooms on your wicks?

I'm a complete newbie at this.....only a few weeks into this. I've never worked with EcoSoys CB Advanced, but from all the reading I've done.....it sounds like you may need a heat gun to zap those tops. It will smooth them right out. I don't have a heat gun yet, so I'm using other alternatives with the GB 444 wax.

Don't lose heart with that cold throw. I had a Sweet Pumpkin Spice that didn't have the greatest cold throw, but once it got lit.......the hot throw was great! But, I guess that's a matter of preference also. Some like a strong cold throw, too.....especially if they are selling. The first smell may be what "catches" a customer! Shine....I'll be curious what your results are. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the info. I may have to try 6%.....just to see. I've been using 9% with Peaks FO. I have a candle in each room of my home, and as I'm burning them, I take a minute to walk into each room to see what kind of hot throw I'm getting. So far, I've been happy with it. The thing is....I've never tried a smaller %, so who knows.....? One thing that is happening though.....my cotton-core wicks are mushrooming. Depending on who a person talks to, I know everyone has different preferences on mushrooming or not. I'm using the wide mouth 16 oz. & 8 oz. jars, with 12.75 oz. of GB 444 wax and 1.25 oz. (9%) of FO. I have a C-85, which is the biggest cotton-core wick from Peaks, but it's the only one that will get to the edge of those 3"+ diam. jars. Could they be mushrooming from the amount of FO? I know they're not too big for the jar. Any suggestions out there?

It's kinda hard to know where to go with these %s. The information that is given for GB 444 says that it's FO is 9-11%. Does that mean that's where a person will get the best scent throws, or is it common to still be able to go down to (i.e.) 6% and still get a good throw/possibly a better throw? I was curious about what has been working with your GB 444 wax. I've been using around 9% FO, as the recommended FO for this wax is 9-11% FO....but, someone has also suggested for me to try 6% FO. What % of FO has everyone been using, and what has seemed to be working for you?.....Just curious.

Thanks for posting your results like this! Even though I'm not using this kind of soy wax, this is the kind of info. I've searched for to help me select wick sizes. I know there are so many factors that can effect what wick size a person would use, but any starting point is sure helpful!
