  1. I think I'll print this and show it to all of the people who tell me that I should be working with soy.
  2. There's nothing weak about this scent! Strong hot and cold throw.
  3. I add the heavier oils when my wax reaches between 185-190 instead of the usual 180 degrees. I also use a whisk to really mix it in.
  4. I am NOT a floral lover, but this scent is fantastic!
  5. Beautiful candles...and presentation!
  6. Damn Grumpy...Is there anything you CAN'T do?? No wonder people want to copy you...LOL!! Those are GREAT! I can't believe how real they look.
  7. How in the world does she manage to stay in business??
  8. Wow...those are really beautiful!! I love them all!
  9. I thought they were the same too, until I burned them at the same time to compare. Peaks smelled stronger to me!
  10. In my opinion, Peaks has the stronger cinnamon smell. I love both, but for me, Peaks wins out.
  11. Welcome to the board! Good choice, supplier wise. You can't go wrong with Peaks. Even with shipping (and I live in the east) they are my all time, favorite supplier! As other's have mentioned, this is addicting! I started out like you, just wanting to make a few candles for myself. I think most of us who really love what we're doing, and are serious about making a good, safe candle started this way. It's those who get into this just to make a quick buck that we worry about because quality and safety doesn't always mean as much to them as it does to the rest of us. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask! This is a great place to learn with lots of good people willing to help you along the way!
  12. NEXT TIME??? Did you say NEXT TIME??? Maybe we'll forget how bad it was by next year.
  13. I would suggest 1343 because it's so versatile. You can really play with this wax! For creamy pillars, add 1 tsp. vybar . Semi-translucent, add 1/2 tsp vybar. For mottling, no vybar, add 2 TBSP stearic and .5 - 1 oz. fragrance oil. Rustic, add 3 TBSP stearic and pour at 150 degrees.
  14. Jenn, I don't have time right now to go through your site page by page, but I have to tell you, I really like what I see so far! Beautiful site setup. I love the colors! My only suggestion (and that's all it is, a suggestion!!) would be to take the exclamation marks around "April Special" off on the main page. Not sure why it bothers me, but I think it takes away from the elegance of the page. Deb
  15. Congratulations! You've worked long and hard for this, and I am so happy that you have this opportunity! Wishing you tons of luck with your new venture.
  16. Darn E...Scary picture! Gave me nightmares!
  17. That's fantastic!! All that soaping you've been doing lately is really going to pay off!
  18. I agree, it is a rip off, and lately I'm seeing it more and more. The bad part is, I don't take the time to call them on it.
  19. I love Peaks peach. Mystical Angel clued me in on this one (she uses soy) and she's probably tried them all!
  20. Peaks BRV is great in candles and soap.

    Duckies

Nothing to laugh about. Those came out great. I should show you a picture of mine...LOL!! Then you'd really get a good laugh.
  22. I think we notice them more than the customer does. I have never had anyone remark about, or question, the wet spots. I really think it's something that just drives us crazy and the average customer doesn't give them a second thought.
