  1. I "needed" more FO so I had to hop on this sale last night. I got Baby Fresh, Hollanburst,Sea glass, and tea leaf & grapefruit...anybody have any experience with these? I was contemplating the clean breeze and the cinnipine. any others I should've gotten?
  2. I have a HP officejet Pro L7580 which supposedly prints as fast as a laser. I am only printing on the paper side of the freezer paper. The freezer paper that I have says it is a plastic lining that's why I was wondering if the fragrance would be sucked out or not. So far, so good. I have noticed a very slight discoloration but I think it is just from so many people handling the original packet to look at it. The mixture has been in the package for almost 24 hrs. now and I don't notice any less of a scent yet. I will keep everyone posted. The candlemakers store has little envelopes for 10 cents a piece (I think) that are used for sachet envelopes. If my freezer paper seed packet doesn't work, I may have to use these instead.
  3. I found it...It was posted on here. Sachet beads were purchased from the candlemakers store and there was a link further down the posts for aromathyme with the recipe. I googled for sneaker sachets, found aromathyme then did a search here with aromathyme and found the original post. Oh what a happy day! :rolleyes2
  4. I see now that they are at 50%. Besides mixed reviews with the customer service. I think I'm going to take my chances and place an order. Like I need more FO to add to my already bursting at the seems cabinet. Here are a few I am contemplating. Anyone ever used: white sand white sage white lily and diamond wedding day water vanilla rum cake seamist and lavender I use 100% soy from Bluegrass so I'm interested in cold/hot throw. I am looking for fragrances for my fraggles (fragrant stuffed animals) as well as air fresheners.
  5. Neat.. I'll have to try this for myself. I am a dental hygienist and the one office I am in is a very slow office and we have Listerine flowing out of the supply closet. I am still searching though for my notes on the other stuff for in the shoes. I will be sure to post when I figure it ou.
  6. I did find a site for glassine paper in sheets but it's kind of expensive..not worth that much going into package something so simple. I am going to try freezer paper first. It is lined with a plastic on one side. It should keep everything sealed in, but not sure about the fragrance being sucked out. I hope this is the answer 'cause I really don't have time to be "fixing" paper.
  7. I started a new thread 'cause my old one would've been clogged with me posting to myself as I'm thinking of ideas. I was asking about paper for packaging. I mixed up some stuff to use as a sink freshener (BC newsletter) and I thought of using packets for carpet deodorizer as just one treatment at a time...anyway. I printed my package using a seed packet template and as I thought..no oil seapage, but discoloration of the packet. I think the freezer paper would be perfect, but does anyone know if the plastic lining in the paper would suck out my fragrance? I am going to put one together and let it sit overnight just to see anyway.
  8. Georgia..you're reading my mind! As I was typing my brain was rotating. I was thinking about that or maybe trying to coat the inside with a thin layer of wax or maybe painting some decopauge stuff on the inside. I'm not sure how much of the powdery stuff would stick to it though since the surface wouldn't be completely smooth. I'd have to make sure it didn't suck the fragrnce out either.
  9. I can't remember where / which board I saw this one and have done some searching but my eyeballs are giving out. Anyway, someone was asking about oil dry stuff to use as some kind of sachet stuff and there was a link to a place that carried essential oils and a recipe for stuff for taking care of smelly sneakers and other things like to spritz your pillow with for a good night sleep etc. They also had some neat packaging to go with it.
  10. I made some carpet type freshener stuff and made these cute seed packets on my computer. I want them to be a one application type thing. I used plain ol printer paper and as I figured, after 8 hours there isn't an oil seepage, but the paper is discoloring. I was thinking about how I could line the paper with wax paper first or cut parchment paper the size of printer paper and try printing on it I know there are paper sachets out there somewhere. Any ideas?
  11. Thanks a bunch. I've never ordered from either...thus never thought to check them out.
  12. I found some really cute metal buckets in my craft room stash that I bought after easter last year and thought I would turn them into bug (bugless) candles. I thought I read somewhere that instead of using Citronella, try using verbena lemongrass. Is this true or is there something else I could try besides the citronella?
  13. These have been suggested to me for my tealights using 100% soy since I can't find my notes and I've been checking out my usual haunts for ordering and of those I haven't found the CD3s. Where can I find these or it seems I can wick down using a CDN but where can I find these instead/or?
  14. I'm getting ready to do many tea lights and I'm out of wicks (it's been awhile). I don't know where I put my notebook. I read through the posts and it seems like a cd3 is the one to try for soy wax. I use 100% from Bluegrass and can't remember which/where I got the wicks. I have a pkg. labeled tealight from millcreek but those don't seem to be working for me. I wish I would've put the size/kind as well but "i knew I'd remember"
  15. I need a strong smelling margharita type fragrance. I was planning on making aroma ornaments. I found a really cute margharita glass cookie cutter.
  16. I buy my supplies from them for making hard lollipops. The flavors are great and great customer service.
  17. What a great website. I'm thinking about seeing if the clear boxes would big enough to fit my hurricane candles in and maybe some of my smaller wax animals. This would be a good co-op for the bags if someone wanted to tackle it. I would myself but have too much going on with my health and getting ready for a large 4th of july festival.
  18. I don't use that wax but I use the htp 104 and 105. Like everyone on here will tell you..test, test, test. Welcome aboard and have fun, caution this site is addicting.
  19. I know I saw posted on one of the message boards (not sure if it was here or not) and I've done a few searches but couldn't find what I saw previously. I saw where someone added mica to their beads to get a "shimmery" look to the beads. Has anyone done this. I'm guessing it would be with the mica powder. Has anyone tried with plain ol' glitter? I alwo thought I saw posted somewhere where someone used the shaped glitter type confetti and I thought it was in the ornies but then again, I don't remember where I saw it and of course didn't write these ideas down because "surely I'll remember" My first thought when I saw this was wouldn't they melt 'cause I was thinking most of that stuff was plastic or is there a "metal" kind of shaped glitter? I am leaning toward making ring shaped ornies and want to make the "gem" sparkley. I guess I could just experiment but really didn't want to have to do just a little bit of beads to experiment..much easier if someone has already done the work!
  20. Thank You...I didn't have the 2nd one you mentioned and looks like quite a variety...already my brain is going on overload thinking of colors and fragrance.
  21. Nevermind...found my old notes.
  22. Where is a good place to get a variety of metal cookie cutters. I usually order from foose but they are out of stock on a few of the ones I wanted to get.
  23. I too use the Ge sillicone but I found mine in a tube with a twist off lid at Trader Horn and so far, I haven't had any floating wicks and to get the wick tab to release for jar recycling I use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it right out.
  24. The brand of wax you are using will definately make a difference. For my containers I use bluegrass soy (someone else taking care of wax division now) I heat my wax to 175 at 140 add fragrance and am ready to pour around 95. I typically use 1 oz./lb. of wax. I use color chips. For my votives I am using wax from At Wix end. It's been awhile since I made votives but I believe for them I usually heated my molds, wax temp. to 200 FO at 140 and color then poured when slushy. Both of these are according to instructions included with wax. I've been sticking to this for over 5 years and seems to work out just fine.
  25. Great boxes. Have you tried the crayola cutter. I bought one for my kids for christmas and when we finally went to try it out the other day...didn't have fresh batteries. Anyway, the tool makes teeny tiny holes so that you are cutting where scissors can't. You could make your own design and then just trace around. I haven't actually tried to use it yet so I can only go by what I've seen advertised. Also I have a HP Officejet Pro L7580. The sales guy at Staples said HP is getting away from laser jet as these inkjet are just as fast and I really haven't noticed my ink getting sucked up too fast.
