  1. i sell to close friends and family people i know i can trust not to do something stupid (leave a candle burning near drapes etc..) i don't have insurance. thats why i started this to make money we are a single income family and having something to make a little spare change off of while being with my daughter is what i wanted.. granted when i have $500 spare i will get the insurance and i sure as hell won't sell to people i don't know before then
  2. oh yes i can see that facing a lawsuit cause you don't have your ingredients listed and someone had an allergic reaction is much better then spending some extra time doing things correctly. oh well what can you do
  3. soy is great thats what i started out with, i got a starter kit which was wonderful cause it tells you exactly what to do. and that way your also not wasting alot of money if it turns out your not that into it. but yeah soy is pretty easy to work with (this coming from the person who has only touched soy lol) but i am also a newbie. and i have actually found that tins are awesome their pretty easy to wick and people really seem to like them
  4. congrads, atleast you got some promotion and made booth fee. thats always good especially with a first show. and i don't know maybe its just me but i can't see the pics
  5. you've got quite the set of tools going there lol. thats great. but i def agree that the wax fo and dye from micheals might not be the best thing in the world but you can always order that stuff from and online supplier and while your waiting for that play around with the stuff that you have cause trust me once you use that stuff you'll be addicted they you REALLY won't want to wait for stuff to be shipped to you
  6. you could always try not coloring some clamshells see how they sell.. that way you still have the color option but you can judge people reaction to no color. when i think about it i don't see how color would really matter in a clamshell or tealight. how many people look into the melter and go what a beautiful color melted wax lol. i think color comes more into play with actual candles
  7. yeah the points system is great, they send out the newsletter every month its got a bunch od different info in it and there's several contests, every month you can compete in the trivia contest e-mail them your answers and if their correct you name gets put into a drawing for a $10 gift card. they really try to keep customer service great and i love them. they'll also send you little free gifts with your order sometimes, my last order i got a little tinsel scent snowman soap. its so cute. and they've also got some awesome oils.. i don't think i have anything bad to say about a single thing i purchased from them yet i use their soy wax i only use their oils, their cd wicks. i love em
  8. id def go with natures garden as much as possible... they are so wonderful.. and their points system rocks
  9. are you on their mailing list? if not you should get on it.. you get info on specials like between dec 1-8th i think its 5% off your order. and they have trivia contest you could win a $10 gift card... all kinds of stuff plus info like what i just posted lol

  13. out of couriosity (i found a bunch already converted on e-bay) can you leave un used wax in the pot and re melt it later
  14. well my pots are totally full htis weekend so full i need to buy more lol... i've got 10 tins in various scents and 100 tealights in various scents to fill. most i won't be able to do until my restocking orders get here but atleast i'll be able to finish up the tins
  15. yeah thats the thing with their site down and me needing a $25 order.. i don't need anything from there i just ordered restock from natures garden
  16. thats what i was thinking. i'm mean i use clear labels with black writing but maybe someone wants no label.. this way it not there just take the lid of (which i'd assume people are doing so they can light their candles lol) but thanx for the opinion
  17. lol i figured you would who doesn't like getting bowed down to..
  18. anything that i can actually melt the wax in. i work in my kitchen and have a small area for my candle stuff so i don't want to have pouring pots and different mixing containers.. i just need like 2 more small pouring pots so i can get more done without waiting for wax to harden and i hate using my 4lb pouring pot cause its just to bigi'm gonna check out micheals this weekend
  19. i would get some samples of the fragrances you want to add pour some tealights and start sending a couple hear and there to customers let them know your trying out new scents that way they can smell them and you never know they maybe ordering them from you the next day you can also try to get some feedback off them. but atleast if they have something they can actually smell they may be willing to take a chance
  20. lol i bow down to the queen of the formulas before all others watching lol :bow::bow::bow::bow:
  21. wow well look at that... you make it look so simple... lets see how many ways i can screw THAT up
