  1. Pumpkin Crunch Cake is wonderful. It has been a very big seller this holiday season. Mango Sage Tea is really good, just finished pouring it for a customer. The Hot Orange Danish, Coconut Cream Pie are really popular. Angel is another very good dupe. These are just a few off the top of my head, which is very sleep deprived at the moment!!
  2. B&B colors work fine - that is what I use most of
  3. I agree with Lonestar. If it was any stronger it would run you out of house. I have one customer that is about all they buy, husband and wife both love it!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas Please leave Christ in Christmas
  4. I order mine from Moon Glow Supplies. They are called Clam Shell for votives.hth
  5. Ditto to all above - I don't think it never stops. I have so many fo until I really don't know what I have any more. Put it up and forget where I put it and then order more, and then repeat same again. I just ordered 6-7 new scents from AH that I didn't need. So much good stuff about them I had to give them a try. I not made them yet but oob they smell great. Gotta try a few more everybody raves about. So the addition goes on and on
  6. Thanks Candle Man - found it and ordered it!
  7. Has anyone heard of a fo called English Mulberry. I have a customer wanting it and she said it was very hard to find. I haven't found it, maybe it has been renamed to that?
  8. that is the wax I started making candles with, and the I think it was 141 for pillars and votives and loved it also until the last 2 times I ordered it, I could not get a smooth top with it - very wrinkled - and when I asked about it they said do this or that but nothing worked, think I got it from candlewic or genwax not sure which. That is when I switched to IGI 4786 and 4625 and been very satisfied with that.
  9. I would use 2 83 htp's at least with those spicy scents. I think that is what I used the last time I made them. hth
  10. I had the same problem with the htp's coming out of the tabs and was also crimping mine. I had bought these from 2 different suppliers, don't remember who. Tried Candlescience htp and they are perfect. Only place I will get my wicks now. hth
  11. I use hot glue gun - don't trust anything else
  12. Got mine from WSSP and smell like the real thing!
  13. Got this from Cierra Candles and smells great to me. Sold good also hth
  14. I get my amber romance from wssp and it smells good - don't know how close to the real thing it is but the people that buy it say it is. hth
  15. I color my amber romance with honey/vanilla. Don't remember how I came up with that color - maybe amber is sorta that color? hth
  16. The butter knife is interesting - I can see where that might work, keeps the pour from "hitting" the bottom so "hard" and making for air bubbles. Will give it a try on next pour.
  17. I use the 4786 - That is the only container wax I use and the htp wicks - results have always satisfied me enough not to switch - which means I really like it. I use the 4625 for pillars and votives and use the zinc wick with these, trying the hemp wick which I might start using. The zinc and hemp stand up straight when burning and not bend like htp (which that is fine in container) but not in pillar. Will make pillar burn lop-sided! I only use these 2 wax, if I do mottled I use the IGI 1274 plus 2 TBS Steric pp. Don't want lot of different waxes to have to worry about where to store - have enough of that with containers. Love to use a lot of different jars, trying to narrow it down but that is hard to do. hth
  18. I too have made the PCC from Natures Garden and love it. I did not notice anything like you described either. I use 4786 Paraffin and used 1 1/4 oz PP and they turned out great and smell really good. Could be my favorite pumpkin along with NG Pumpkin Pie Spice, the pie spice is not as spicy as some others which I think I like better.
  19. Cierra Candles - That is the only Grama's Kitchen I will use - customers love it. hth
  20. I had to wick up when I made it last year. Have not made it this year, think I d/c.
  21. As I said in earlier post - I had always used the zinc wicks in my pillars because they don't bend. Now I am trying the hemp and so far I really like them. hth
  22. I use the 4786 wax and it is really a very good wax for containers. I usually use about 1&1/4 oz fo and heat to about 185 or so and pour between 180-185 and have good results. Tried pouring cooler just to see but didn't like results. It just takes testing and developing your own special technique because often what works for one doesn't work for another. hth
  23. The size I used in the mottled 3" pillar was a 60048 - which it said was for a 31/2 to 4" but since the pillar was spicy scents - previously used 60 zinc, I decided to go with the larger. Think though the 1400 which is for a 21/2 - 3" would have been OK. Hate to waste another pillar though. I really like the way it burns. I use the htp in my containers but I do not use that in my pillars because of the slight bend at tip of wick, makes it sorta burn more on the side it bends toward. As far as getting the pillar out of mold, after leaving in the freezer for 10-15 minutes if it still doesn't come out I take wick pin out, put finger over hole in pillar and blow from bottom of mold, that always works for me. hth
  24. I just tested one the other day - paraffin - 2 htp 62 - fo was wisteria - which is a very strong scent and it burned wonderful and scented a very large room. I will be using this jar and also the 11 or 12 oz which ever you want to call it - I using 7 oz and 11 oz - for a fund raiser and I knew if it burned good using the wisteria it would work for all others. byw - wisteria really smells good to me.
