I use mainly SS soy wax but also EZsoy. I'll been doing some testing with the 449 and notice that to clean up the sides I did have to go up a little in wicking. But I think that wax has a tendency to leave a residue on the side, not really a hang up on. With SS I notice it tends to use a smaller wick. But I am using 8 oz jelly jars. Be interesting to see your test results, Linda

I have had very good service from them. And was pleased with their fragrances and other products. hth (i use soy)

Aztec does have 740, 765 and 767. But I see they don't have 760, which I seem to use the most of.
-
Yes, I had thought that would be a good idea. Maybe even some could buy different sizes and split them up to send around so you don't do all the work.
PS Altho there is a distributor site that does sell them by the 100's. A little while ago they didn't have all the sizes but maybe they do now.

Not sure but I dont think BCN ever did sell C3

I have called several companies to find out what kind the plastic is. Most of them were real helpful. Anything that is cellophane is ok and I called the Saran Wrap company. The original is ok, but not the others (I forgot what it is, cling wrap maybe)

On the other hand, if you are talking about the skim left by the new waxes, 444 and 449, there were several comments on another thread that this is not a negative thing.
-
Mentioned on other post that I stayed the same or wicked up a bit with this wax. (449) With the 444 I ended up definitely wicking up a little.
-
With 449 I have stayed the same with my wicking or have had to wick up a bit.
-
True, but strickly marketing speaking, that sounds like a good idea.

I used C-3 and had sink holes. But I didn't work with it. I have been using SS from Southernscentsations. I had sink holes with that but worked it out and it does real good for me.

I made a pillar and it looks similar to Jeana's. I poured hot, @155. Can't remember if I added stearic without going and looking at my notes, but I thought I did!
-
The web site suggested adding beeswax. That sounds like a good idea. I am going to try a small amount of beeswax. I did add stearic and some cracked and some didn't.
-
Update: I put the heat gun to a votive that cracked after it cooled and found a sink hole near the wick. So I tested another batch that I had added a small amount of stearic to and they were all just fine. And actually all the others in the cracked one's batch were good, too. Wish I could remember if it was the first one I poured or the last one! I'm thinking it was the first one I poured of that batch, so maybe poured too hot?
edit to say I found more cracks in both batches.

You might want to look into the new votive/pillar blend that is being talked about on this board. Jason is in KY. There is a list on one of the posts as to who is carrying this wax currently. I have been testing it and really like it. It's called GW423. There is a thread here on it.

Sorry, I don't have a camara. But they sure look nice!!
-
Wow, poured votives last night and they look great! Slid right out of the molds! Heated to 180, added FO at 170 and poured at 165. Now I will test burn them.
-
Been testing 444 and 449 and I find I like the 449 better. It burned better, cleaner sides, the tops of both are good but 449 was better, and hot and cold throws on all are wonderful! Can't wait to try pillars with the 423!
-
Wow, SS wax was one I am ready to throw as far as I could. But you have given me hope and some ideas! Thanks Mystical Angel!
-
Mystical Angel, do you mind mentioning what kind of wax you use that you don't have such problems? I've had enough problems with my wax, I'm ready to trade it in!!
-
I think I resent mine the next day! Hope you got it.
-
I need to do more testing but I think so far I like the 449 better also.
-
Don't know much about Ecosoya but other votive waxes I have used are recommended to pour hot, around 160.
-
I found that the 449 does better poured hotter, around 160. I've been getting good hot and cold throws.

With 444 I noticed it was better pouring a bit cooler, like 130.
