I haven't used palm wax so I can't help you but if you hit the search button you probably could find some info.
-
Color and vybar additives are not added against the wax amount. Color is added based on the color you desire, making note of the amount if you want to get the same color again! I've never used vybar but I believe the company recommends a percentage to use.

I'm thinking just off the top of my head (what kind of an expression is that??) 10% FO seems a bit high?
-
I see you are from PA. I love the votive/pillar soy wax from www.candlewic.com in PA. But I am in MI and am trying some that are closer to me.
-
And pouring too slushy will make it look like covered in bubbles.
-
Perhaps your supplier has a message board. or www.candlesoylutions.com carries EL and has a message board. You can check fragrances on www.grandscentral.com and www.thescentreview.com Hope that helps!

Hmmmmm, how much pillar wax did you add that time? I might try that!!
Also, did it change the wicking?
-
I think 180 is too hot to add fragrance. Are you curing your candles for several days to a week? The longer they sit the stronger they get.
-
I always add beeswax; 1/2 oz to a pound. It helps.
-
Bev, If you are in Pennsylvania and you mentioned pillar wax, I really like Candlewic's pillar blend.
-
I also find I have to wick up with EZ.
Can't help you with the Eco wicks. I didn't have much success with them.
-
I dont understand why you can accidently leave the wax hot in the pouring pot (interuptions) and come back to find it set up beautiful, gorgeous appearance, no air pockets!
But pour it into the jars that way.......
-
Wow! I would say if you just started making candles you started with a dandy:p I'm sorry I can't help you, just sympathize with you!

Yes, EZsoy is a good wax once you learn all the quirks with it. I use it as well as some others. It has fantastic cold and hot throw. But I do use 2% beeswax to help with frosting, I use @ 1/2 oz per pound.
-
Don't know about soy wax getting frozen but overheating it, esp. for a longer period of time is not good.
-
If you add stearic to containers you have to add very little as it will make the wax pull away from the sides. I have added 1/2 teaspoon to 1 pound. I find that is the highest I can go, and even at that it sometimes starts to pull away.

Fear of success sure is a funny thing, I think I suffer a bit of that with my candles. But I know for sure I do with dieting. Now why would anyone be afraid of losing weight and looking nice and wearing nice clothes??!!!

Is this dye similar to the powder dyes from BCN? I've been using them lately.
-
What new dye are you using?
-
-
I use them for dipping things in, pine cones, bears, anything!
-
Seems that way but I think after doing some experimenting it does help. Not sure about the beeswax, I do add stearic to mine.
-
Gotta have someone different! I don't care for the HTP's. I like LX!

I just got diamond cubes and a pot from Micheals. Haven't testing completely but so far they are doing good. Someone, somewhere (!!) recommended them. I personally don't find them any harder to use than the stickum. I guess because I'm so worried the stickems will move that I stand there pressing them down for a while!!

Thanks for stepping in, Top. No one had answered so I thought I'd stick my 1 1/2 cents worth in.![:P](//content.invisioncic.com/r248437/emoticons/default_tongue.png)
