Yes, you have it right. If you heat the wax up higher than to add the fragrance, which the instructions should tell you to do, it won't drop that much when you pour it into the pot. It does help to have the pouring pot warm. Sometimes I have mine in the oven set on low, but most times I warm it with my trusty heat gun, which you will notice on the board everyone thinks is a must have!

Not sure I understood your question but as for the KYwax, some add beeswax to KYSOY but you dont really need to add anything to the KY125. To make votives you should have a votive blend. They are easier to make than containers. I started with votives. Were you asking about not adding something to container wax to make votives? I'll just say that personally, none of my votives turned out good that I mixed additives with container wax to make. Had to use the votive blend.

I haven't made tarts in a while so I'm not much help! But I'm thinking if you are not getting a good scent throw you could add more fragrance. 1 oz per pound is about 6% and I think with tarts you can go 7%-9%.

Someone mentioned a beeswax supplier recently where you could buy in bulk, 25# I think. I can't seem to find it. Could someone please help me?? :embarasse

I'm not familiar with that wax but it sounds to me like your fragrance amounts are good, or you could go up a bit. It also gets better after you let them sit or cure for a few days. The longer they sit, the better they git!

Good decision!! I wish I had done that, I must have tested hundreds of waxes!! When I think of all the money I could have saved I'd had enough to pay Mystical Angel for her formula!!

Thanks much for the suggestions! At someone's suggestion, I have been adding 1/2 TBsp of stearic acid to help with the sink holes. Do you have any thoughts on that? I think I will try eliminating that and pouring at 140 and see how that goes.

I get horrible sink holes pouring hot. It started to work for me pouring real cool. But on your recommendation I will continue to work with it. I do believe you let out another hint on one other wax you use!! I made a note of it somewhere here in my notes..hmm.... I've been noting your messages!!

Mystical Angel, you keep up with those comments of yours about your formula and I'm going to offer you a million dollars for it!!

I suppose I should have checked the wording first before opening my mouth, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that I have looked thru (and ordered from) Candlesoylutions and they say on their scent list whether the carrier is soy based or synthetic. There must be some difference.

"My last post got me thinking maybe I should compare different soy waxes." Ah, Laurie, with that statement you just entered a door you can never go back! Always you will read of someone who has wonderful results with their wax. Or you will find another company's wax you hadn't heard of before. And then, of course, you must try some to see if it is better than what you are using. Till one day after you have gone stark raving mad, you finally decide to stick with one wax, and never mind what everyone else is saying about a new wax.

Till it eats on your mind and you finally have to try that one too!

Does anyone here use Soy 1 wax from ohiocandlesand supplies? I'm looking around at various waxes!

This is interesting. I can say from my point of view if I wanted just soy because everyone is saying that it is clean burning I probably wouldn't buy a blend candle. But there have been discussions about how bad paraffin really is, which is that it's not as bad as soy pushers say it is. I haven't done the research myself, but I think I would explain how "unstable" (if I can use that word, there probably is a better word!) soy wax is and that mixing a bit of paraffin in improves the quality of the candle. Which of course in certain aspects that is true. Hmmmm....I wonder if I made any sense

Some soy blends are mixed with other veggie waxes. To be clear about it, it is usually called para/soy blends. I would think that plenty of people who want to buy soy and are used to paraffin would buy a blend.

You have to pour EZ very cool, like 100* or less. I add 2% BW to mine and pour when it gets thick syrupy but not before it gets grainy syrupy, if you know what I mean!! If you get the temp right you will have great candles.

I'm not much help because it's been quite a while since I tested performas but I think I had the same thing happen to me. Just figured it was one of those things! I think, tho, that it only happened with certain FO's, but then my memory isn't that good!

There was someone on one of the other boards, I think SouthernScentsation, that made a chart with just about all the wick types and offered to send a copy to whoever wanted one. She sent one to me. It is VERY helpful! I will see if I can find her again.
