Ugh, my red ones have bad frosting, but mainly the ones I experimented pouring at low temp, 100*. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? My other reds are better. My blue is perfect! sigh.....

Other than that, I really like the appearance of this wax!!

I got some frosting on my red colors but not on my blue. I'm going to try some more colors. I'll be interested to see results from others on adding color. This is a nice wax!

I made a couple more. In jelly jars, the usual way; I added Vanilla of Pearl FO with 2 drops of liquid blue dye. I used soy-based liquid dye this time instead of powdered. I poured one at 135*, turned out great!! Smooth top, nice appearance! I poured the other at 110* again just to see. It had a little bit of rough top again but everything else looked good. This wax is really looking good! Cold throw is good already. Can't wait till tomorrow to burn the first ones I did!

Just double checking: the other 2% is soy additive, nothing to do with paraffin added, right? I can say my candles are 100% soy wax, as far as the wax goes? OK, confusing myself here! The additive isn't soy based? Just something added to aid the wax? The dye and the FO are also added to "aid" the wax (to become a candle!) Am I making any sense???

Looks nice! I cant send pictures but mine looked like that. I like this wax, but I did get frosting. I tried my worse one, Cinnamon Red Hot, powdered red dye, and poured at 125 in jelly jar. The room was suppose to be my warmest but the heater wasn't on.....The top was nice and smooth but I did get frosting on that one. The next one I poured the same thing only got distracted and ended up pouring at 110! It had tiny bit of frosting on the very botton and the top was just a little bit rough. I poured another Vanilla of Pearl, used a little powdered blue, at 125. That one is almost perfect. I'm going to try pouring at 135 today, and trying again with the heater on in the room!! This wax is even better than the others!

OK I think I'm getting it. So a higher melt point wax may need a bigger wick. Would a lower melt point wax burn faster? Hmmm, maybe not, if you are using a smaller wick.

Sorry! I tried a search but there was over 300 and I'm taking the easy way out of this!! What does melt point mean in terms of how the wax acts or is influenced by its melt point? Or influences other factors.

Beeswax helped me when I was using EZ. I added 1/2 oz per #.

I like the SS a lot. I never had frosting or wet spots issues. I just kept getting sink holes. But I think I got that worked out.

That is a bit too deep! Your jar should be too hot.

What kind of wax is that and where did you get samples from? Is that from Jason? Golden Foods?

ebarnes took the words right out of my mouth!! I, too, was wondering if 185 isn't a bit high to add FO. Could be some got burned off.

Just about all the scents I have gotten from JS work well in my soy!

If you haven't got something already, go for the diamond cubes and glue pot at Micheal's.

Go ahead, it's not so bad!! Just keep track of the temp so you don't blow up the wax. Only kidding!!!! Reminds me of how I felt when I made my first one.
