  1. so no one use UA?? I tried 3T steric with a 30 ply at 4% and didn't get a good burn (left very thick walls and bulged), thats why I was asking about the additives. I would love to see someones candle burned half way down, though, its great to compare. thanks for all the comments, keep them coming:wink2:
  2. I am working with 1343, using 1t of UA and 30 ply flat even though the supplier suggested lx14, and 4% FO( would like to try 6% too). I would like to see a 3" candle burned half way down to compare. I am using Candle Cocoon FO. Would also like to hear throw comments, my searches have found many comments that they couldn't get this wax to throw, and I am afraid of adding too much additives that will kill the scent. I would appreciate those experienced 1343 users help;)
  3. I have never heard of that wick, what does eco stand for??
  4. I have the 12 ounce vase jar from candle science and am using 4786 with a cd 18 and not getting a full melt pool in 4 hours, I am afraid to wick up because the flame is on the verge of being too high. I am using 6% FO the top is about 3 3/4 wide and tapers down to 3" at the bottom if this would be similar sizing for someone who uses this wax it is the middle one. thanks, k
  5. I bought mine from paramold, you have to get 1000 at a time, but you can specify length and tab to use. k
  6. thanks, lime cilantro is one of them I am going to try. thanks
  7. anyone tried herbal rosemary or lime cilantro??? thanks
  8. anyone tried ... cool citrus basil honeydew lovespell moonlite plumeria from kycandlesupply??? How was the hot throw in paraffin and/or soy? thanks
  9. I wonder how to make the wax for dripping?? what is this wax? also, anyone tried to heat up the stamp and melt into a pillar, I had thought about ordering my logo and trying it, but never got around to it.
  10. what's the web site, I can't find it listed:confused:
  11. that is so funny because that is what I thought, I have had people actually tell me they cut the tag off and lit the wick 3" long, how can anyone be that stupid!!!
  12. wow, thats sounds really high, thats normal for a candle. please others respond, I don't want to use too much
  13. this brought me to a question I have had, do most of you guys have the wick trimmed on the candle to the proper length for their first burn? I use to not do this, tied the tag on the wick, but have changed my packing, and have started trimming all the wicks to the proper length, which is a pain, but i know they will get off to a good start. 2nd question, if you do this do you have a quick method of getting the length the same each time? a jig or something??? thanks:D
  14. What is the % of FO that is allowed, or skin safe in soap? Thank you for helping me with this.
  15. I do not use alcohol, but I did notice when I put them in the frig they would sweat a ton. I have some that have sat for 2 days and are still wet feeling. I tried to wipe also. My DH suggested I put the blow dryer on the bottom of the mold for faster relief and that really worked well, but don't know if the ones I did that with are the ones sweating???? I thought there might be a "magic" answer to this.
  16. I have some M&P soap come out wet feeling and others normal, what causes this? Also, is shrinkwrapping a bad idea? will the heat of the gun make it wet inside the wrap? What is the preferred way of packing? thanks
  17. candle science has flat votive wick pins, candlewic's are curved.
  18. From most of the post, I see this is the most popular combination. Are you getting a nice flame throughout the entire burn? I am testing with a 3 hour burn time in a tight fitting container. I have tested about 20 FO's and find that on the second burn and sometimes the 3rd, the flame is weak, if I wick up to a 44, its just too much, consumption rate is high. I find that the last burn is usually good (on the 36)and I am also finding that trimming the wick is not a good idea, that the long wick helps with the flame. Anyone else experience this? Also, are you using 1 ounce of FO most of the time? I am thinking the wick is drowning because of the % and flaming on the 44 . I like the 36, it leave little to no black on the glass. thanks you 4794 users for any suggestions/comments
  19. [i use a SBC-2 from pourette. /Trimming the wick is essential as always. They suggested this wick.
  20. 4761 is almost impossible to cut to get into the presto. I was given suggestions on freezing it, putting it in a pillow case and hammering it, I don't have time for that. It is suppose to be a one pour wax, so i guess thats why someone would go to all the trouble of using it. I use 4625 and 4794 for votives, did a big marathon test burn on many different FO's and like both waxes. 4794 seemed to burn better/more consistently.
  21. anyone using this for votives? I have been testing this against 4794 and it seems to hold more FO and have a nicer flame. I have only tested 3 FO's and I am trying to decide which one to reorder. anyone else experimented?
  22. Where can I buy the shrink wrap for votives? thanks:)
  23. wholesale is $13.95, minimum order 6, I can't remember what the opening order minimum is, but you can probably buy just one case.
  24. thanks everyone, I love having this board
