Trapp, I absolutely love these and think I have another project in the works because of these pics. LOL. Does anyone think there is a liability issue with these? That is what is holding me back at this moment.
Lol! I made a thin layer of soap to swirl with in the bottom of this mold. I unmolded the next day and let this thin layer cure for a couple weeks. Then I cut out the butterflies with cookie cutters. They come out of the cookie cutters alot easier if the soap is cured a little bit. I took these and laid them into a thin layer of soap on top of a layer already set. HTH!
Well not candy but soap! Scented with DS Lemon Sugar & Candied Violets. I didn't know the base would turn yellow with this oil until afterwards. I pretty much wasted my time adding yellow shreds.
Acceleration worked out for me this time, kind of. I don't like how the tops turned out but I think I have it figured out for next time. Scented with Tony's White Ginger & Amber. MMMMM!
Actually I made my wax come to a slushy stage and put about 3 drops of color per 8 oz. of wax and slightly stirred with a stick. I didn't completely mix it in. Then I glopped it in the molds just pulling different parts of the wax out of the container and throwing it in each tart and alternating between each tart. I let them cool slightly then pressed into the tart with my hand. I then finished them off by using my heat gun on the bottom for just a second and then setting them down and heating around the outsides and smoothed out the tops last.
Oh these were fun! Except dummy me, put them in the freezer and left them in there too long, then they cracked and broke apart. These were the ones that survived. Scented with Ms. Randy's Vanilla Bean from Wildfire. The best vanilla ever!
