  1. Ohh, I never noticed that! Thanks for informing me with your question!
  2. Thanks grama... I'll keep it in mind if the need arises. With a spigot, the stuff settles in the bottom below the tube so it's not disturbed. That just tickles me to no end
  3. These are 3oz. 12 or more is $1.69. I have no idea what a good price would be...lol. Didn't look at shipping either... http://www.glassware4gellin.com/3ozmug.html
  4. I have 3 pots...one just got the spigot put on. The parts weren't that expensive, but find a drill bit large enough was a PITA. (I went by the size guide posted here, but maybe smaller would work) When we finally found a bit large enough, the shaft was too large to fit in our standard drill. Finally too the whole shebang to work and the maintenance guys drilled it for me on the press. Haven't had the chance to use it yet though. If I didn't have 3 already, I'd buy it with the spigot already on there, most definitely! I cannot pour it straight from the pot without a large amount of wax running down the side and all over the counter I've always dipped the wax out with a 2 cup Pyrex cup and never liked it much. Maybe because my work shop is in the garage but I always get dust and such(dang tiny spiders LOVE making webs in there:rolleyes2 ) in my wax (I live in the boonies on a dirt road...lol). Ladling the wax out stirs the mess up in the wax and then it needs filtered. With the spigot in my turkey fryer it all stays settled to the bottom so now my presto can too!
  5. They look very nice! I don't know if it's because I'm looking at it on the screen or not, but it's hard to tell what the writing is on the tags with the dark picture behind it, except fot the scent, it shows good. They have the plastic raffia at Nashville wraps. I just got some in white. I really wanted to try those sleeves after hearing about them in a co-op that I missed. I wish that site had smaller packs to try :undecided
  6. I agree... most of the sire is very clean and classy. Then there's that page :undecided I see you have a trademark symbol there so I'm guessing you've put a lot of work into it. Maybe you could make it a separate website. Then you could still have both without them clashing.... Some of the Trashy ones are cute, some are just a bit too much. The Arson one... I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole.
  7. F&M... Frankincense & Myrrh maybe?
  8. That sounds like the same thing snow was asking about over in the other section... the mottling, snowy stuff. I've never noticed it develop in my pot before but I've only done plain white. When I get it inside my canes, it's a surface texture as well as the snowy look. Umm.. is that a plain paraffin you're using or a blend? That really looks more like a traditional mottle from plain paraffin, but it requires oil to make it mottle. I'm stumped, sorry
  9. I don't use "mold release" but I do use Pam, generic of course..lol. Would a very light coating of spray on the mold itself cause the mottling on the walls just inside the cane? It seems like if it was air from the picture, it would be mostly on that side of the shell. Actually I get it inside even on plain shells that have nothing embedded. Then again... she may be talking about something else...
  10. That's very nice of you. I'm sure they'll appreciate them.
  11. I think it turned out very pretty! I don't see any flaws
  12. I can't help ya there. I haven't tried that particular mold, but all my floaters, 3 or 4 different shapes, burn up too fast. I'm almost out of hair to pull out so I gave up for a while
  13. Are you talking about the snow looking stuff inside? Mine always get that. I don't worry too much about it. I zap the inside and melt the surface layer off. Perfect finish
  14. Thanks ya'll Jojo... nope. I cut them out while the wax is still warm enough t be pliable, but cool enough to handle. The mold needs to be warmed slightly too. The timing is tricky with pillar wax and it's a short work window. As soon as they're all cut out I stick them inside the mold to cool. Often they'll fall back off the mold once cool, but that's okay since they're already shaped I can warm it back up and stick 'em back on when I'm ready to pour. Works best with rustic finishes. I usually get tiny cracks on the outside of the embeds from bending so it blends with the rustic look....lol. Also if the wax is too hot it'll melt the embeds back loose.
  15. Very pretty Jojo. I love seeing your candles
  16. They have them here, but I've never tried any... http://www.gardenofwisdom.com/page/page/4032898.htm
  17. Welcome to CT and the addiction! Best advice? Read, read and read some more! :read: A great place to start... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=698 Including the links to the FAQ's and Tips. (Those go to the old board and load a bit slow, but are definitely worth the wait!) Then there's links to CT (CandleTech) on the top left here. Basic info, tips & techniques, all kinds of good stuff. For your first experience... that's a bit confusing. I'm guessing it's a pillar if you're using a mold. It's supposed to pull away from the mold, that's how you get it out. Pulling away between layers is a different story. Are you making different color layers in the candle and those came apart? Or like a rustic finish that the surface layer came off and stuck to the mold? The fridge may be the cause, but it may not. We really need more info to help
  18. I don't know what Brylcreme is, but none I've found yet remind me of the ocean. :undecided
  19. I must've missed that. I couldn't find a whole lot of specific information about anything. Guess I should poke around the site more....lol. I put colored candles maybe... wonder if they accepted that?
  20. Holy smokes! I don't have enough fingers to count the ways I'd mess it up trying that! LOL
