  1. Darn you, Candleman! Now I have something else I need to add to my line. Hubby will not be pleased. I saw a list of other uses for cyclo, like bath salts and scrubs, that you posted, have you tried them? I wonder how it would work in a bath bomb?
  2. Thanks for the link, Carol. Jcandleattic, I do not think I have a dollar tree near me. Friendly mom, now why did I not think to look on ebay? *headsmack!*
  3. I never thought of putting them in a bottle like that before, interesting.
  4. Good idea! *adds ear plugs to shopping list* My 3 yr old runs away screaming when she sees me dump the salts in the processor, lol.
  5. That is what my hubby said. I have been using a glass jar for years with no problems. I wonder where we can find pretty plastic jars.
  6. I am looking for molds to make soap crayons, does anyone know where I can find some? Also, what is a good, beginer recipe to try that is kid-safe? Thanks in advance.
  7. Oh, I was not planning on buying it. I just wondered if anyone else has seen it. For more than $600, I think I can keep on using my hands and shoving my bombs into the little plastic balls from Michael's. I DO like that you can have a custom 'stamp' on your bombs, and the idea of a cube, though. Oh, and I entertained thoughts of taking the picture to HomeDepo and saying "help me make this" HEH.
  8. I give my sea salts a ride in the food processor, that helps grind them up so they dissolve better.
  9. Here is my bright idea for bath salts. Sell the first batch to a customer in a nice glass jar, then sell bags for refills at a lower price. This way, cost of packaging is cut down, it recycles, and cuts down on a customer having a lot of glass jars hanging around. Has anyone tried this? How did it go? Hubby did bring up that glass might not be too good of an idea, though. Thoughts? Edit because I forgot about wooden scoops, those would be in the starter package as well. Oh, and where can I get wooden scoops?
  10. My guess would be the salts and citric acid in the bath bombs. I tried to mold the bombs I made earlier and it seemed to be those that caused the problem.
  11. I JUST made my first batch of bubble bath bombs. I am going crazy waiting for them to harden so I can try them out.
  12. I do this and call 'em 'bombed bath bombs' LOL.
  13. Has anyone seen this? http://www.soapequipment.com/bathbomb/ You can mold bath bombs that include a custom logo and make more shapes than balls, like a tablet, cube, cylinder. It looks really cool, too bad it is over $600.
  14. Thanks all. NOODLE: How long is grapeseed good for? what can I do to keep it fresher longer? I have bought from chemeistry store before, are they good? DEB: thanks for the tips, Now if only I could find lye.... The people at lowes acted like they never even heard of it before. Thanks about the 'no dumb question' thing. I am sure to pester you all with more. MWOLBERS: Two questions... 1) Care to share any recipes? and 2) are you mooning me!!??!! :-O
  15. I want to try to make soap, but would like a cheaper alternative to buying the oils online. I see my local grocery store has grapeseed, olive, and other oils with the regular cooking oils. Are these the same as oils used in soaps? Can they be used? Thanks in advance for answering what may be a dumb question.
