  1. Thanks! I'll add it to my list to orger when I get around to ordering from MMS.
  2. Sandy: How wonderful!! I am glad they worked out for you.
  3. I tried it and got this: Robin29, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. I guess that I do not have enough posts, or have not been here long enough, or something. Thanks for the site, though!
  4. Cool! Now I gotta find this Sodium Lactate stuff.
  5. CARRIE: What is the difference between the two?
  6. SPATREATS: I never had a problem, in fact my bars are quite dense. DARCI: I might try to score them and see how that goes.
  7. Oh, the texture looks nice! Care to share the recipe?
  8. Whatever you do, don't tell them that you want a PVC pipe and dowel so you can make bath bombs. I did this yesterday at LOWS and from the reaction I got, I am expecting the ATF to kick my door in any minute.
  9. Did you look here? http://chemistrystore.com/deadseasaltshop.htm
  10. I have not even tried the rolled look, and I have no idea how it would work. My mix is pretty crumbly. That would be a ? for someone who has been at it longer than I have. I just stuff it all into a mold and pop it out, then let it dry a day or so. You could do a swirl look by taking half the mixture, dying it it and *gently* mixing it back in... I have not tried that, either, perhaps the next batch.
  11. Blaze, that was what I was wondering... would the customer think of it in the same way. Soapermom: I HATE the slow ones, and they always find that spot where you sit. ouch. Perhaps I could use that as a selling point, lol. Beloved: Good point. Hrm.... I just might have to give it a shot and report back.
  12. Looks like you don't have enough SLS and totally lack glycerin (it helps matain the bubbles...I think) try this: This is the first recipe that I tried, it worked so I just stuck with it. ; ) 1 cup baking soda 1 cup SLS 1/3 cup liquid glycerin 1/3 Cup Cream of Tartar (or corn starch) Fragrance and color I'll sometimes add a little grapeseed oil (say, sub three T or so Glycerin for grapeseed oil), and have never tried citric acid myself. I found this recipe online over a year ago, forgot where, but it works well. I do bars that are about 4.5 oz 1/3 bar gives a good bubble bath, 1/2 bar will bubble like crazy. I left water in the tub to see how long they would last once I got out and they were still there hours later. I don't think that I will try a full bar, heh. The bars are dense, and need to be sliced, rather than just breaking a chunk off.
  13. We don't pay for water, either. One plus of apt living.
  14. Does anyone think these will sell like regular bath salts? I was playing with my new stick blender, grinding up my coarse sea salts for bath bombs and wound up with powdered salt. I am sure it will work well in bath bombs, but wonder if anyone thought they would sell on their own as regular bath salts. They dissolve almost instantly in water and provide the same benefits, but would it appeal to customers? Just wondering if anyone has thought, or tried, this before.
  15. That wasAT LEAST 2 a day! I have done 4-5 before.
  16. Shoot! I take at least two baths a day, just to test my own bath bombs, bubble bars, etc....
  17. I don't know how to PM. I do not see a PM link. I am robinmichellelynn at yahoo dot com <~~ typed this way to keep the 'spiders' away.
  18. Ok, goggles...check. I have some gloves, goggles, and will wear a long sleeve shirt and pants, and I plan on doing it outside ( we have a plug out there so I can plug the crock and stick blender in) Any more words of wisdom?
  19. So, um, how DO you know? *Turn, duck & run*
  20. Ok. *DEEEEEP BREATH* I am going to give this a whirl tomorrow while the kid is in school. Cross your fingers for me! Nother ? : a pringles can IS 2 pounds, right? Just want to make sure before I try this. Anything I need to do to the can?? I plan on doing HP, because I lack the patience to wait for CP.
  21. One more ? What is the difference between the three calculators on soapcalc.com? There is a soap calc 9, soap calc 9 wp, and soap calc 11. How do I know what one to use? EDIT TO SAY: Never mind, I see that it is the # of oils you use. It helps if I read the site closer. lol.
