  1. I don't know why it looks crooked in the pics because it's level. And it kind of looks like carrots and celery on here... but it's not lol! Are the insides suppose to be as smooth as the out? Mine seems to have a grubby look? But overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I must say that putting on the "hold a mold" is like trying to set a bear trap! I thought it was going to fly off and smack me in the eye! ~TFL
  2. German chocolate cake with amish harvest frosting, and the one in the middle is just amish harvest. White tea and ginger Blueberry muffin w/blueberry embeds on the bottom and apple jack 'n' peel Thanks for looking!
  3. Thanks a bunch, I was going to swing by walmart anyways to pick up more jars, this saves an extra trip, woo hoo!
  4. Hi guys, Can I find homespun fabric at any craft/supply store? I'm asking because I never dealt with fabrics, so I'm not sure if homespun is a specific type or just regular fabric? Do I need to cut it myself? Ok sorry if this is a dumb question, I wanted to run out to joann fabrics and pick some up, but I didn't want to go out for nothing, since the store is out of my way. Thanks a bunch!
  5. I have the same prob, so the FO's that are super strong really shine at that time. If I can still smell it, I know it's a keeper! Try putting your test burn candle in a smaller room, away from where you pour. Before you go to check the hot throw, step outside for a few minutes and soak up the fresh air. Then go check. That's what I do and it seems to help. Or maybe it's your wax or FO's. They could possibly not be strong or have good throw from the getgo? Maybe someone else has a better idea? ~HTH
  6. Hi I also use GB444. I find that adding 3% of BW helps a whole lot with frosting. Still some FO's are more stubborn but I think they're worse without the BW. No wet spots for me! Also I usually pour at 150.
  7. Thank You! I only use GB444 and have been adding 3% BW to all my candles. For votives & pillars I use palm. I had a blast making this, and I can't stop inhaling it! I hope I don't suck out all the FO!
  8. Scented in jelly bean, but man it really smells like a strawberry shake. The top came out a little mashed potatoe, and the wick is a little short, but it's my first attempt. Better luck next time! (Hopefully it will burn nice.) ~TFL
  9. I use the ECO's. I feel they work best for me, but I'm going to see how the LX's and the RRD's work, since I already know that I am not a fan of the HTP's or the CD's. Testing all the different types of wicks and sizes are a PITA! But well worth it once your candle burns perfectly. ~HTH
  10. How lovely, you have great candle carving talent!
  11. Oh I just saw that it does stand for dear... oops! I like damn better!
  12. Oh hahaha! my husband was right! And i thought it was "dear husband" how stupid of me, "damn" should have been my first thought! "Dear" hahahahah :laugh2:
  13. Those are great, good job recycling! You guys... what's "DH" mean?
  14. Ahhh... Those are cute! Where'd you find them?
  15. I don't know if it's just me, but there are no pics, just boxes with red X's in them.
  16. You guys are so nice! Thank you for the positive feed back, I really appreciate it!
  17. Thanks Luci, at first they were a PITA! I did the votives, then tried a pint sized container, and let me tell you that was a disaster! It frosted on me like crazy so I kept zapping it with the gun, and of course the swirls blended into a solid color, sooo I had to remelt it and well it's not a marble anymore lol! I used a method that I found on here in the archives. I just poured the wax into my containers and waited for them to start forming a skin. Then I put a drop of dye in and gently swirled with a skewer. Cybersix, I guess they did come out a lil tye-dye. I was nervous that the marble effect wouldn't show so I made sure the dye was against the container wall. There's still room for perfecting the technique. Thanks for the critiques!
  18. Very pretty and organized. Great job, I love it!
  19. I've been playing with the marble effect. I think they came out pretty cool. ~TFL
  20. Actually I've been incorporating 3% BW to my 444 and it's awesome! I get no frosting, and so far on the FO's that I've tested, it helps with the h/c throw as well. As for the stearine, I guess it's like vybar so I think it's a no-go for soy.
  21. rsvlbrat they are from walgreens! 2 for a $1. I'm still working on the big pumpkin wick, I thought about the 3. I just finished re-wicking it so if that sucker still doesn't burn, up I go! Thanks for the advice, and thank you guys for your compliments!
