  1. I just went ahead and bought the 9 cavity Kelsei.... there's been pretty good reviews on this site... I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thank you everyone... for repplying.
  2. per lb of fats and not total weight of soap? The sage F calculator seems pretty nifty as well....
  3. I have an idea how to use MC in soap.. but has anyone ever done thing. I'm thinking I can keep a little of the oil out and melt the MC in that & add it at trace. I figured .5 oz - 1 oz of P EO in a 2 lb batch of soap... I really would like to use the MC.....
  4. that's true- the soap didn't look all that great in the picture. I think I'll order the 9 bar Kelsei today.... how long did it take to get to you?
  5. I thought about buying a Kelsei today but then I saw this one..... http://www.saratogascents.com/wooden_soap_molds.html
  6. Oh, thank you so much for that info. Maybe I'll whip something up for my sister for Christmas... she'll be so excited.....
  7. AH!!! I'd like to get into the co-op... but I don't have co-op privledges yet... Could I e-mail you? Pleeeeeeease?
  8. I sell gift sets with the 2 oz bottles - disc caps... very good to travel with. specialtybottle.com <-- dirt cheap..
  9. Ooh, pretty! OT: Marika where do you live upstate? I live in Schenectady.....
  10. Those are so cute!! Hey, does the S&C VS Type really smell like the store brands? I want some! My sister would LOVE this!
  11. I wanted to do this w/ candycorn... they look great!! Love them. Unfortunately, I have no more container wax... I do have votive though. To prevent the bottoms from crumbling off pop them in the freezer for 5 minutes or so... then let sit for a minutes after taking them out, then they should have an easy release. You can also wipe your containers with a little olive oil for and easy release as well. It doesn't harm your candles... don't use a lot, just a little to coat your votive mold bottom and sides....... They are beautiful....
  12. I ordered Mac Apple from Save on Scents.. haven't used it yet, but it smells ok.... Just got Mac Apple from BC .. haven't smelled it yet.. literally got delivered a few hours ago to my mothers job... I hope this is a winner. I really LOVE Yankee Candle's Macintosh.... so if I can find any supplier with something remotely close I'd pass out.... that scent makes me drool....
  13. I have heard sticking them in the freezer for a few minutes then taking them out and letting them sit for a few will help with an easier release..... you can try it... This works with CP soap, so I'm assuming it'll work with any soap...
  14. We're looking for a peanut butter Fragrance oil.... I saw that Bitter Creek does have one, but does it smell like peanut butter?
  15. I wondered about this as well..... Mine seem to crater especially wit certain FO's.....
  16. uhm.. did I just drool in my shirt..... love them!!!!
  17. WOw! Why do I want to stick my finger in that "batter" right now? Looks great!
  18. Now if we were to make this from scratch, what preservative would we use? I make liquid gel with flaxseed but it's an opaque color and I add vodka and pectin... Has anyone made this from scratch yet?
  19. Brenda thanks for posting this. I've been wanting to try a whipped soap since I found Nizzy's site last year... I have HUGE plans next week for whipped soap..I will not fail (well, that's what I have to tell myself *s*)...I'm tenacious ...such is the Capricorn.... so I can't wait to share my pictures... I bought a Kitchen Aid and an extra bowl (the pink one for Breast Cancer).. for my recipe's and formulations... I don't use for food, but I would say for the poster that is concerned (i'm sorry, I forgot who said it) I would buy an extra bowl...... Well, I can't wait to get started. Brenda, I love your site by the way!
  20. That's ok. *s*.... I actually had to ponder the question... I thought thick soap always looked like gel sort of... *l*.... Well I guess if you look at shampoo that's like a thick soap....but them again that's not really soap... *l* The alcohol is to aid in diluting... it makes the process quicker. It evaporates so none will be left in the soap...
  21. Thank you.. I enjoyed posting it. It's very easy to scent... I measure out what I need (of the final product) then put it in the microwave for a couple seconds - just to warm it so the honey I add will be incorporated well. Then I add my dye's and colors... The scent isn't hard to cover up at all... Depending on what FO's you use and what distributor you get them from.... I have experienced a distinct smell with the base I have used as well.... I know what you mean.
  22. Yikes, I see. I didn't know candle making would be so complicated...... I've done research on making votives before. I make them to go with gifts sets, but I didn't think I'd delve into anything else. I love the look of desserts... Maybe I should tell my mother she should stick with containers and votives right now (and me to soap making).... the one's she made so far came out lovely (she's sold quite a few)..... Maybe we'll just try a few drinks until we get the hang of it.... Everyone's candles are BEAUTIFUL on this site.... love it!
  23. I'd really like some cupcakes right now.....
  24. Ugh..... It's more trying than I thought. I need molds for soap making and my mother needs some for candles.... Here's another one... it's a blend.. So let me get this straight. If I use the two I have posted for containers (glass jars w/ mashmallow embeds in cocoa) this is fine... but they can't be used for free standing candles: cakes, pies, etc... This is the one I'd like to use for the glass bottle, cocoa and marshmallow... http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Pillar+Waxes&product%5Fid=SOY%2DPB
