  2. Ok, here's a Palm Wax... it said it can be used for any type of candle, maybe I'll call the company. I'd rather not use paraffin.... http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Pillar+Waxes&product%5Fid=WAX%2DCP
  3. hmm, ok.... Wow I thought there was only the 2 types of wax.... Now could I use container wax for embeds? Like Marshmallow's (<-- why does that look wrong). on top of cocoa in a glas cup? Or should I use pillar wax? Is there Veggie Pillar wax? Vicky you said "EL"?
  4. Thank you Vicky.... so Soy container candle wax should work well? I think it's millenium.....
  5. ..... container candles. My mother and I would like to make Cakes, drinks and novelty items. Who carries the best? I bought the last batch from The Chemistry store for votive and the container wax. My mother just made plain containers.. nothing fancy.
  6. that is not a dumb question. I didn't know until I started soaping. M&P comes in slabs... you can even find them in your local craft supply stores. I recenlty started CPing ..I truly enjoy CP more than MP.. it gives me an opportunity to customize how I want my soap made... With this you can be 100% sure about what ingredients are in your soap.. M&P makes beautiful novelty soaps..... I tried M&P once and I really disliked it, but I've seen some beautiful creations on this site w/ M&P.....
  7. why am I about to drool? I want some apple cider donuts and AC to go with it..... I can't wait until late September... Apple picking here we come!

  10. Cocos Nucifera and Gardenia Tahitensis Monoi means "sweet scented oil" in Maohi, the ancient traditional language of the French Polynesians. The secret of Monoi de Tahiti® lies in the delicate 100% natural blend that is extracted from the rich Tahitian Tumu Ha'ari (Cocos Nucifera) palm tree and from the local "Tiaré" (Gardenia Tahitensis) flowers. Together they create a rich, non-greasy emollient/moisturizer that penetrates quickly into the skin and acts as a natural barrier against dehydration which is the major cause of wrinkles. Customers will simply love the remarkable multi-purpose natural properties of Monoï de Tahiti.
  11. Authentic Monoi de Tahiti may solidify (and sometime unevenly) below 72 F (22°C). This is a natural process which does not change or affects its special properties. To restore its fluidity simply warm your Monoi de Tahiti container under hot tap water or keep near a heat source and enjoy the additional penetrating benefits of warm Monoi de Tahiti. Monoi de Tahiti has a shelf life of at least 2 years!! 12. ........ where can she get this from in a Jiffy? I'm not sure why I'd post this for her, because she'll have to pay an overnight fee anyway....
  13. Maybe next month, because that was 2 weekends for one batch of soap..*lol*... I have 12 hours of braiding to do this weekend..... all these "projects" <-- that one benefits me though *l*
  14. no, I haven't tried bubbble bath yet.... There's a special recipe I want to try in the book that calls for a few ounces of shredded sodium soap.... I made a 2 lb 100% pure organic coconut oil slab for this purpose......
  15. correct - only one is needed - borax takes care of it all and it maked it thick/gel like - I love it. (I'll probably use citric acid in my childrens castille soap).... this is why I went straight to the Shower & Body Gel directions.. forgot the page #....
  16. You're welcome... it's very easy but painstakingly long.....
  17. oh my goodness!! LOVELY!! I want to buy something now.... I love how the colors stand out...
  18. Alcohol can thin your product.... I don't use it anymore because of that fact. I used to use a castille base and add 120 proof vodka... but it did thin the product.... a LOT.... I use the 33% borax solution (made of 6 oz of boiled distilled water to 2 oz borax).. then only 2 tbs of the solution per lb of soap... you use this to emulsify, thicken, and neutralize (<-- this is most important)..... If your soap isn't neutralized it will be at a high ph of 12 - 13... 10 is good and it stays at 10.
  19. I'm totally with you... I ALWAYS wake up tired... this is why I did this soap in two weekends. I stored the paste on the Sunday before last and diluted this past Sunday.... We need to put our brains to bed as well as our body... it's hard to though, so I'm not really sure how....
  20. There isn't any alcohol in the final product... it evaporated.... alcohol evaporates before the water and this is why you weigh your pot before you put it back on the stove AFTER placing the alcohol in it as well as monitoring how many ounces of alcohol then water evaporates. I use Distilled water.... Yes, it's KOH.....
  21. Save on Scents is a no go... I ordered it and received yesterday afternoon.... ilk.... it's a nice candy scent but nothing corney about it..*tee hee hee*...I'll go with Bittercreek..... Any takers on a Butterscotch? I like FNWL's but it's not strong enough....
  22. Borax is dirt cheap anywhere....Boric Acid can be picked up from your pharmacy.. that's where I got mine (I haven't used it... don't think I will..).....
  23. It is painstakingly long.... but worth every minute..... 6 lbs of paste makes a lot of soap so my customers and I will be set for a while.... Hibiscus I always use my own body gel to shower (and wash my hands)...I haven't bought a bottle of commercial soap since December of last year....
