  1. :tiptoe: Can your husband make one for me too (preferably with slits as well).. I don't have a BF or a DH... and my five year old son is watching Pink Panther right now, so he probably wouldn't be interested in doing so.....
  2. I know it's nice out there! (I'm just scared of the creatures..*l*).... To have all that space..*sigh*.....
  3. Ooh, Marika.. where's that at? That's a beautiful picture.. (I sure wish I had that much space...) Tammi, I'm not sure... Maybe $6.00 a slice? It's a hearty piece of "cake"....
  4. Thank you everyone! *big cheese* You all are making me feel great! :grin2: I was inspired by whomever made the cheesecakes a while back... I've always wanted to try my hand at cupcakes, but I sw the cheesecake's and said "hmmmm......." So I had to. I've only been CPing since July... I've been making Liquid soap but never bar soap... I thoroughly enjoy doing it... Iwant to quite my 9 -5 and do this full time... one day..... I'm praying. Maryann, ok I'll be passing my forum title's by you before posting... or I'll just think "what would Maryann say... will she approve.." *l*... I just hate how big those picture's come out... I'm so happy everyone liked what I posted though... Oh, that is whipped frosting by the way. My cake was only about a week old so it stuck fine.. and it also wasn't uniform in texture - it had a lot of Hefty Bag creces (sp?) in them so the frosting had that to adhere to... The frosting wasn't as light and fluffy as I had hoped.... I may need to change my recipe... The pastel bar is made with Rise & Shine with Brambleberry.. it smells EXACTLY what you'd want to wake up to... reminds me of a sunny morning in a peaceful/serene meadow - a nice summer morning outside on the porch where the houses are almost miles apart and you turn to see the screen door close just in time to hear that subtle screech - not annoying, but a welcome soothing sound... w/ a fresh glass of OJ in your hand.... *breathe in*.. Take in that fresh air... (Ok, I got all that from that one fragrance oil.. it was a sample, I have to reorder....) Marika, I'm not sure if I'll do it by the slice or not.. probably at my show in February (gives it plenty of time to fully cure)... I LOVE picture's too... since I joined I've been through the 50 something pages to oooh and wow everyone's pictures. *s*
  5. Thank you everyone for the nive responses. that means a lot. I love soaping... I have sleepless nights thinking about what I can do next... *l*
  6. That log is from my ugly rebatch (it was candy corn - layered that turned TOTALLY dark brown).... it's now called sweet spice cake - the tiny cake in the background is from the same batch of ugly rebatch) here's some before pictures (I wish I took pictures of when I first did them)
  7. Thanks Marika! I'm so glad I found those molds... I had the small 1 & 2 cavity from Flexiblemolds.com but having 5 oz molds are fab!
  8. I did whip the hard oils (and forgot the soft oils but added them after I added the lye solution... I'm sure that didn't screw it up)..... It was HELL getting it to thicken... my mother said "well, maybe you should let it sit for a few minutes... it sure helped) Your whipped soap looks SO good... of course you're an expert!!
  9. Thank you everyone! That means a lot from all you seasoned soapers! Maryann, I used Bitter Creek North's Bubble Gum... Thank God it didn't change to brown on me! It I used exactly 27 grams for my 2 lb batch and tbk's (I forgot the name of the company) bubble gum & neon pink colors. I used way too much BC Candy Corn (2.5 oz for the 2 lb batch not .5oz for the 16 oz of fats - I'm learning) and the entire batch turned to a dark brown.. I rebatched and made a sweet spice cake (the little cake in the picture) and log w/ a hint of Pumpkin Pie FO from BC....
  10. Ok Maryann.. you're showin' off today.... You have some beautiful soaps:grin2:
  11. Bubble Gum Swirl and a few novelties (and extra bars) - Some Pumice Peppermint & MC Footsie Soap (there's 3 small one's and I used the 5 oz milky Way molds too) - one has cassia in it for a co-worker (the bar w/ brown in it has cassia - that's mine) ..... I frosted my chocolate cake too I can't frost a cake for anything *lol*- it should look a little better when I can move it
  12. I love the first one!!! It's beautiful!! I want to eat it!
  13. I've made 2 cakes so far (picture's coming soon).... I used the spring form cans... worked EXCELLENT.. easy to wrap w/ plastic (used clear hefty bags and some masking take) easier to wrap than a regular baking cake pan....
  14. Geez, my whipping is taking forever!! How long does it take to thicken up? It's been in my KA for about 20 minutes... I took the "cover" off and let air get too it..... I'l post picture's when I'm finished... it's cake frosting... Brenda, you seem the the expert. How long does it usually take you? This is the recipe I'm using. 45 % Palm 15% Sal 20% Coconut 10% rice bran 10% castor Maybe I should use 100% hard fats next time..... I'll post picture's when it's FINALLY done....
  15. at least your didn't turn an ENTIRE DARK brown color... I had the layers right and everything... well I rebatched and made a spice bar and a mini spice cake.. I'm whipping my soap now for frosting.... (God I know I should have melted my sal butter)....
  16. Mayann.. that's so wrong *lol*.... I did add .3 oz of MC to .2 oz of P EO w/ 50 drops of tea tree EO..... I ran out of PEO - I JUST made it for my 2 lb batch. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Scent Cellar, thanks for the tip (because i was going to leave some of the oil out to melt the MC in, but now I don't have to) - the MC melted right away in my PEO..... I'd like to do a Vanilla/ P EO blend.. Vanilla Mint... mm, that probably smells great.
  17. Those are really nice? You used tsunami Axe Type? My ex BF ued to wear the deodorant and I thought it was the best smelling "cologne" in the world... I have a sample of it from FNWL... I thought about using this FO.... You do wonderful creative jobs with your soaps. You're an inspiration!
  18. I just received this FO yesterday from BC... man, I really should have ordered a bigger size.. I LOVE it!
  19. mmmm... the last pic looks yummy! Is that the whipped soap or the body cream?
  20. My ENTIRE bar of candycorn layered soap turned a dark brown... I was so discouraged. I used 2.5 oz of EO for the 2lb (or maybe it was 3 ?) recipe - I calculated at total weight. Shame on me... But now I know... Thank God my rebatch turned out ok.. I made a mini "spice" cake and a log..I just have to frost it along w/ my Chocolate "cake"..... I'l do it this wknd and take pic's... LaVida
  21. ooh thanks everyone... I'll do this this weekend. I'm making Foot Bars w/ pumice powder (in the Milky Way 5.5 oz molds). I made a few tests bars w/ 100% V coconut oil. They were GREAT! So Now I'm going to add the MC, P EO and Tea tree. AS co-worker wants cinnamon in hers ...uhm... I guess I'll put a tiny drop in it. Now that poo bar w/ the P EO, MC and TT oil sounds fab... it's probably soothing to the scalp... add a little baking soda and it could be a clarifying bar. Mmmm.. I like, I'll try that. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSES!! Oh, I want to make a hemp rub w/ MC too... AND some vapor rub... Gosh I love MC... I've used a bit in the bottom of my shower when I was coming down w/ a cold... it knocked that mucous right out. (sorry, a little gross but it works).....
