  1. Have any of you used their scents in Bath and Body or just candles?
  2. I really, really need to stop reading these boards. I am going to have to try these guys for my body butters because I like a strong scent and some of the places I've ordered from don't have the strong scents I like.
  3. Thanks for the info! I'll be checking it out. Hopefully I can keep the order to a minimum.
  4. There's a company that sells the body butter in tins - I think it's blockhead bath or something.....here is the link to the whipped shea in a tin http://www.blockheadbath.com/Candles/candle%20souffle%20sets.htm I wonder why they don't have issues - maybe the tin is lined???
  5. Hi All - MMS was FAST in their reply - I honestly didn't think I would hear anything until tomorrow. For the rest of you who lost that tiny slip of paper, here it is: Black: CI 77499 (Black Iron Oxide) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil Blue: CI 42090 (FDC Blue 1) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil Coral: CI 15850 (DC Red 6) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil White: CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil Yellow: CI 19140 (FDC Yellow) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil Ruby: CI 15850 (DC Red 7) & Castor (Ricinus communis) Oil I hope this helps someone else!! Now I can save it in a document for easy references. Thanks candlebean for your offer to help, I truly appreciate it.
  6. I am in the process of making labels, and realized that I do not have the tiny slip of paper MMS the sage sends with their Oil Soluble Lip Balm Colors. If anyone has it, please post it or PM me. I have the hobbyist sent which includes Black, Blue, Coral, Red, Yellow, White. I would be MOST appreciative. I looked everywhere for the paper and they don't have it on their website. I know it is mixed with castor oil, but don't know more specifics. Thanks so much! (I have an email out to them, but I know how fast this board works! ) They are found here: http://www.thesage.com/catalog/LipBalmColors,OilSoluble.html
  7. Yes, I am doing that as we speak. Too oily and too soft. I have to adjust the level of cornstarch and beeswax.
  8. Wow!!! You soap makers are so creative! I love it. It could be pumpkin meringue soap.
  9. I got mine from brambleberry and did not notice that the tops cracked easily. However, I did notice that the ones that I used around the home for the little ones did tend to crack when either the children "played" with them or I dropped them. How they will stand up to regular "adult" use, I don't know.
  10. Sockmonkey: No I have never tried the crystal clear labels - I will take a look at them. Hopefully, they will work with an ink-jet printer. Thanks for the info! Was it you who talked about the "encapsulation" of the ink, etc? Now that I read the onlinelabels.com site I seem to recall it was your post that I read about dabbing FO on the label and it not smearing......
  11. I know about the white oil resistant/smudgeproof labels, but is there any way that I can make those Clear Avery labels smudge/water proof? I've read somewhere ( for the life of me I can't remember where) that you could spray the paper labels with clear acrylic spray, but I'm wondering if you could do the same with the clear labels. My product uses clear labels, or else I would switch in a minute!!!!
  12. They must have just run out. I ordered 100 last week and hopefully they will be here today. I suppose the word got out!!!
  13. Yes, you have definitely come to the right place. I have only been here a month and the people here are so supportive and there is LOADS of info about nearly everything you need to know about making soap, scrubs, lip balm, etc. Because of the wealth of experience I learned from other's mistakes and am becoming increasingly addicted to making more and more products!! Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
  14. Thanks Ladies! I shouldn't even be in this forum!!! How did I get infected with the M&P soap desire??? I need to get back over to the B&B Forums!:tiptoe:
  15. Hi all: I ran a search on this board and the archived board for Chase soap molds - I was looking for astrology soap molds (don't ask! Last week I was making whipped shea and couldn't stop thinking about melt and pour soaps!) Anyway, any info about this company - they have some really cool looking molds. Of course, I won't be doing all the coloring that they're doing. Thanks for any info. Here is the link to the site http://www.andale.com/stores/sf_home.jsp?mode=1&sfUrl=chase
  16. (chanting) Co-op Co-op Co-op Co-op Co-op!
  17. Try thechemistrystore.com and brambleberry.com. I've ordered from both at different times.
  18. I also have foil sample packets to send out my shea butter samples. Well, I deliberately took one and messed it up twelve ways from Sunday so that I could figure out how to seal the durn thing. I finally was able to seal it with a hot curling iron, believe it or not. I used one the "gold n hot" curling irons on 7. That was cool, but how to fill? The shea was sticky and I was having a time. Sooooooo, I scooped out 1/2 TBS samples, plopped them on waxed paper (over a plate) and put them in the freezer. Voila! Shea butter balls, perfect for popping in to the small foil packet and sealing with a minimum of muss/fuss. Hope this helps someone!
  19. For those who are looking for Cool Water type FO, MMS has a great version. It is so strong that my hubby was like, are you using my cologne for your products. I highly recommend it if you like that scent.
  20. I am not sure if this is in the right place or not, but I just had to vent just a bit. I placed an order for 100 clear lotion tubes from a supplier from whom I've ordered in the past. I also order one FO. Well, the box looked fine when it got here, but smelled very strongly of the FO. Guess what - it had seeped out and soaked the inside of the box and everything in it. The lotion tubes were stuck to the packing material!!! I was horrified because I have some orders (sample) to fill and now I have to wait a week or more to get an exchange, etc. I never knew that FO could be so caustic and damaging!!! The FO smells great though!
  21. Azure, that's all I need to hear! They're having a great sale and I wanted to get some opinions on their unfined shea before it was over. Thanks to you all for your replies!
  22. I juat received my order from shea terra organics and it is creamy whitish with little to no odor. I've had the yellow that smells like cigarettes and it can NOT be covered by any FO, beleive me. Now that I have this great shea, I'm sticking with it.
  23. Hi All: Had a bit of a problem my supplier of shea. I placed an order Friday, Aug. 25 and they are just shipping it out today - after I called. Urgh! I know that most of you bathies order from AK, second runner up oilsbynature, but how about kangaroo blue? They are running a sale! Has anyone used shea from KB?
  24. Gotta luv the kitchen aid! I am going to try oilsbynature. They have a blend of shea and cocoa butter that I'd like to try also.
